Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Baxter is a curious, affectionate little guy who is always ready for his next adventure! This sweet pup loves heading out on walks where he can sniff all the sniffs and explore the world around him. He walks nicely on a leash and is learning the art of staying in a straight line—though he may get a little distracted by all the interesting smells along the way. Baxter can easily handle a mile-long walk, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys getting out for some exercise. When Baxter sees his favorite people, his excitement is impossible to miss—his happy tail wag quickly turns into a full-body booty wag that will make anyone smile. He’s also a big fan of affection and will happily roll over for belly rubs before settling in for some cozy couch time after a nice walk. Baxter has been around children (ages 7 and 9) and has done well. He’s learning that a polite sniff hello comes before jumping in with excitement once he gets the okay. He appears to be both crate and house trained when kept on a schedule and has great manners, doing his business outside during walks or playtime. This playful boy enjoys running and stretching his legs, so a fenced yard would be a wonderful place for him to burn off energy. He’s also starting to discover the fun of toys. At mealtime, Baxter is a hearty eater who happily enjoys his kibble—especially when it’s topped with a little wet food treat. Baxter can be a bit skittish around moving cars and may take a little time to settle in, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and loyal personality shines through. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who will happily join you on walks, adventures, and cuddle sessions, Baxter may be the perfect match for you!

*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Laura and Connie came to Saving Grace together, and they would love to find a furever home together if possible. We would adopt these two to the same home for one adoption fee. Meet Laura, a gentle, vigilant explorer who is looking for a patient heart to call her own! This sweet girl is the definition of a "good house guest"—she seems to be fully house-trained with zero accidents when kept on a routine and can be trusted to roam the house freely without any trouble. We think she may have some visual impairments, although she still gets around ok. While she is a skittish girl who stays on high alert, her curiosity always wins out in the end. You’ll often find her peek-a-boo snacking (she absolutely loves to eat but likes to do so in private!) or trotting over to give you a quick, curious sniff and tail wags before darting back to safety. She is a quiet companion and would be a very peaceful addition to a calm home. Laura is looking for a specific kind of love—the kind that understands great things take time! While she isn't a fan of being held and will stiffen her body if picked up, she is finding her own way to show affection. After only 2 weeks in her foster home, she has already started jumping up on the couch to lounge nearby her foster mom, and once she feels settled, she’ll even roll over for those coveted belly rubs! When life gets a little too loud, she finds comfort in her "safe spot" hiding behind the sofa, but when she’s feeling brave, she’s the ultimate couch potato. Because she is a fast-moving girl who is very hard to catch if she gets loose, she needs a secure environment and an owner who is happy to let her bloom at her own pace. Laura would blossom best in an adult-only home. For the patient adopter, the reward of Laura’s hard-earned trust is truly the greatest gift of all!

*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Laura and Connie came to Saving Grace together, and they would love to find a furever home together if possible. We would adopt these two to the same home for one adoption fee. Meet Connie, the gentle, silly gal who is ready to find her forever family! Connie is the ultimate "low-maintenance" companion; she seems to be fully house-trained when kept on a routine and can be completely trusted to roam the house freely without any mischief. While she hasn’t quite found her voice yet—we’ve actually never heard her bark—she is always on high alert, curiously observing the world with her soulful eyes. Connie is a bit skittish and runs away from loud noises, but don't let that fool you; she is incredibly social and truly wants to be wherever her people are. In fact, her favorite way to say hello is a submissive "army crawl" across the floor until she reaches you, followed immediately by a roll onto her back for those much-needed belly rubs. When she’s not keeping a watchful eye on things, Connie loves to let loose in the yard with a classic case of the zoomies. Leash walking is new for her, and is a little scary at times, but with quiet encouragement, we bet she’ll be ready to prance around the neighborhood in her own time. She is wonderful with other pups and will politely initiate play if they’re up for it, but she’s also respectful enough to give them space if they’d rather nap. At the end of the day, she is an absolute dream in her crate, sleeping soundly and quietly through the night. While she is currently working on gaining a little weight and growing in her thin coat, she’s a dainty eater who prefers to graze through the day. If you’re looking for a curious, loyal, and incredibly sweet girl to complete your family, Connie is waiting to "army crawl" her way right into your heart!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** **Adoption fee waived for prior adopters, fosters and hosts** Say hello to this senior sweetheart, Grapevine! She is a friendly, calm girl who prefers a bit of independence. After settling in, her curiosity will have her following you and wanting to be sitting and cuddling with you on her own terms and in her own time. Grapevine has found that she actually likes to snuggle and cuddle up most of time, but she prefers it to be her choice. Although shy at first, this little gal is curious – paying attention and carefully watching you and checking out her new situation. Once she’s convinced that all is well and she feels as though she’s in control, Grapevine will be ready to be your best friend! Her foster reported seeing her change after 3 days, blossoming a little more each day. Grapevine must not have had the kindest lot in life prior to coming to Saving Grace, as she seems to be experiencing so many new things for the first time in her foster home. She's learning about potty training, and is doing well when taken out regularly. This gal enjoys going outside for short periods of time, but seems to know to use potty pads if she can’t wait. Grapevine will follow her furry friends outside, not wanting to be left out, unless the weather is wet and frigid. As she unwinds and get more comfortable in her foster home, she has been spotted playing with soft toys and furry friends her size. An equal opportunity friend, Grapevine does great with both dogs and cats! Grapevine's a smart lady who will come to you when she wants to be picked up or to soak in some couch snuggles, and she is learning to love being loved on in her own time. She is definitely curious about her human and will follow you around the house to see what you’re up to. Crate time is no problem, as Grapevine sleeps very well in her crate and will occasionally go in just to chill and have her own quiet time. Telling her its bedtime and encouraging her to go to her crate has been successful. Grapevine is a lovely and loving girl who would love to find her forever home that comes with extra patience, and possibly a lower energy sibling. We heard through the grapevine that she just might be scooped up soon, so make an appointment to meet her today!

*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Jezebel is a sweet and affectionate Chihuahua mix who has blended beautifully into her foster home. She absolutely loves people and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Playful but never destructive, she brings just the right balance of fun and calm to a home. Jezebel walks nicely on a leash and enjoys spending time outdoors. She’s still figuring out exactly what she’s supposed to do once she’s out there, but she’s making progress every day. After a nice walk or adventure, she’s more than happy to curl up beside you on the couch—preferably tucked under a cozy blanket on chilly nights. Her foster has never even heard her bark (a rare and much-appreciated trait!), and her tail is wagging vigorously about 99% of the time. Jezebel is a social, happy girl who loves meeting new people and dogs and is always up for an adventure. With her joyful spirit and loving heart, she’s more than ready to find the forever home she truly deserves.
