Story
Prancer COH is an 8 month old neutered male Flat Coated Retriever Mix who came to us as a stray from the City of Hawthorne. This handsome boy enjoys going for walks and exploring the world around him, making him a great companion for an active family. Prancer is friendly and does well with kids, and he’s ready to find a loving home where he can continue to grow, learn, and be someone’s best friend. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. He’s picking up on commands quickly and eager to please. Benjamin is truly the perfect pet. He’s playful, affectionate, and full of love to give. Benjamin can be selective with other dogs, so we'd prefer him to be the only pup in the home. We absolutely adore this guy, and we know you will too. Meet ONYX Onyx was once just another number on the euthanasia list at Contra Costa Animal Services. A beautiful, gentle soul forced to lie on a cold shelter floor, waiting… not knowing if anyone would come for him. It’s devastating to imagine how a dog this sweet, this loving, was so close to losing his life simply because no one chose him in time. Life has not been kind to Onyx. He didn’t deserve to be abandoned, and he certainly didn’t deserve to be overlooked. Yet despite everything he’s been through, Onyx never lost his gentle heart. He still loves people. He still trusts. He still wants nothing more than to be close to his human and feel safe again. Onyx is about 4 years old and weighs around 45 lbs. We believe he may be a Flat-Coated Retriever mix, possibly even a Newfoundland mix—whatever his breed, he is truly stunning inside and out. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He does well with people and can be good with other dogs with proper introductions. What Onyx wants most is simple: a home. A soft place to sleep. Someone who won’t give up on him. Someone who will choose him and never let him feel disposable again. Onyx would make a devoted companion and best friend to the person who opens their heart to him. He earned his festive name because he can’t help but dance around with excitement whenever he sees you, greeting everyone with pure joy. Prancer has a wonderful puppy personality—adventurous, affectionate, snuggly, playful, confident, gentle, and endlessly curious about the world around him. Prancer is one of seven puppies from a rescued mom, and this sweet litter will be ready to head to their forever homes right before Christmas. Prior to pickup, he will receive his first set of vaccinations, be dewormed, and microchipped. Prancer is located in San Bernardino County, California. The adoption fee is $400.
