Meet Prancer, a 6-week-old Retriever puppy with a shiny black coat accented by beautiful white and silver markings, currently weighing about 10 pounds. He earned his festive name because he can’t help but dance around with excitement whenever he sees you, greeting everyone with pure joy. Prancer has a wonderful puppy personality—adventurous, affectionate, snuggly, playful, confident, gentle, and endlessly curious about the world around him. Prancer is one of seven puppies from a rescued mom, and this sweet litter will be ready to head to their forever homes right before Christmas. Prior to pickup, he will receive his first set of vaccinations, be dewormed, and microchipped. Prancer is located in San Bernardino County, California. The adoption fee is $400. This regal love-bug has learned some great basics—he knows sit, stay, and even goes into his crate at night like a champ! As a young guy, he`s a little bouncy out of the kennels, but settles down easily. Walking with Choco is fun. He`s learning to slow down when prompted. He’s fascinated by small animals and cats, so a home without them would be best for now. Choco loves everyone he meets. Come join the party!

Hi there! My name is Basil and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I am a 8 month old, female, Labrador Retriever/Vizsla mix who came to SB Humane in search of a loving home to share my love with. Did someone say lets have tons of fun? I am the life of the party with my happy-go-lucky attitude and my silly smile. I am super smart and eager to please. I grew up with another dog in the home, and some tiny humans. I am still a young pup, so I would love a family who is willing to teach me how to be a great doggy citizen. If you are up for a lifetime of fun and adventure, then I would love to be your joyful sidekick. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
We have always had Labs. As our older lab aged, we got Jethro so he could be mentored by our senior. They had a beautiful relationship. When Toby died and then Covid hit, Jethro missed out on some important socialization. Jethro is now 4 1/2 years old. He is great with us and people. He is unpredictable while walking on a leash. Some dogs he is fine with and others he is extremely reactive toward. He's been known to lunge, and it makes it hard for us to enjoy a walk with him. We had a trainer help us a few times and she was able to keep him in line while walking, but we can't seem to employ the same techniques. We believe someone can train him; we're likely the problem here. He has been lovingly cared for since we brought him home from a local family breeder, all shots and vet care are up to date. We want him to be happy and healthy and believe it is possible. We think re-homing is his best chance at that.
