Story
Tito is a 3-year-old, 37-pound pup who has endured more than most. Rescued from the streets and brought to the Weslaco shelter with a severely embedded collar that was put on as a puppy and never removed as he grew. Tito spent his life on the streets after fleeing his home, before finally finding safety. Now, he's ready for the love and stability of a forever home. Though he needs a brief warm-up period to feel secure, Tito quickly shows his affectionate side. He loves other dogs and is especially nurturing toward puppies, making him a wonderful companion for a household with another dog. Until he feels fully safe, he'll do best with a harness and leash to help him build trust. Tito is playful, gentle, and longing for a family to call his own. After surviving so much, he deserves a home where he can finally relax, be loved, and share his loyal heart. Tito is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Petersburg, FL on February 21st. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Story
Tank is a 5–6-year-old Lab mix who weighs about 80 pounds of pure sweetness. He also has a pretty unusual backstory. Tank came to us from a shelter in Georgia that scanned him for a microchip and accidentally misread the number. They contacted Tracy’s Paws, believing he was one of ours. When he was transported back to Texas, we quickly realized the chip information was incorrect — but by then, Tank had already stolen our hearts. So, we decided he was meant to stay. Tank is very obedient, loves being around people, and truly enjoys human companionship. He does well with other dogs when paired with the right handler and guidance. He’s a big, affectionate boy with a lot of love to give, and we’re grateful that a simple mix-up led him exactly where he was supposed to be. Tank is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Petersburg, FL on February 21st. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Mia - our quiet miracle who has waited three long years for her forever. Please watch her video... Mia came to us from a severe neglect and cruelty case, and she endured things no dog ever should. But somehow, despite everything humans took from her, she never lost her gentle spirit. Every time I look at her, all I feel is love...because Mia is love. Pure, grateful, resilient love. She's about 4 years old now, weighs 53 pounds, heartworm negative and Chagas negative, and she has blossomed into the most wonderful dog. Mia is grateful for every act of kindness, every soft word, every moment she gets to simply be safe. She has been nothing but a good girl since the day she arrived. Mia gets along with other dogs and enjoys being part of the group, though she prefers friends who give her a little space and don't rush into her face...she's a laid-back girl at heart. But if she finds the right playmate, she absolutely can romp, run, and play with joy. She is also an excellent little watchdog here...alert, loyal, and always paying attention. But what Mia wants more than anything is something she's never truly had: a kind person of her own to spend her life with. After three years of waiting, she deserves to finally go home. If you think that might be you, you can apply for Mia online. She's been patient for so long... maybe today is the day someone finally sees her. Mia is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Petersburg, FL on February 21st. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Every dog adopted through Tracy's Paws receives: Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) All core vaccines (age-appropriate) Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Regular Deworming Spay/neuter surgery Microchip Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.
