Story
A SWEET, ACTIVE & PLAYFUL GUY:  Approx. 6 years / Approx. 40 lbs.   Hello, I’m Alex!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so grateful that they have taken me into their program so I can find a new family to love and be loved by!  I was adopted for a few weeks, but they realized I needed more exercise than they could provide.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program and had a blast!  Now I’m ready to find my furever family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them a lot, so if you have a very playful dog at home who would like a buddy, let’s meet!  My trainer thinks that I’d benefit from having a dog playmate in my new home to help me burn off some energy and pal around with, especially when you aren’t home. / Cats unknown. / I met nice kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them as well as in a home I visited! When we played, I was a little mouthy and jumpy, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super sweet and affectionate fellow with a very active nature who wants to be very active with my family!  I’m a real people dog and have great focus – which is wonderful for my continued training.  I am a masterful high jumper, so best not to leave me unattended in a yard.  Perhaps we can learn agility together for fun!  I heard one of the volunteers say that I’m a happy and goofy boy . . . his 11-year-old son even specifically requested to take me out for a second day trip . . . sounds like a ringing endorsement to me! I’m showing some separation anxiety so I’d love a family member who is home a lot, perhaps a stay-at-home or work-from-home person that I could hang out with and be active with too.  I think I’d also be a good candidate for doggie daycare which sounds fun to me! / My energy level is very high at 9-10 so I need regular exercise please.        • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program for 3 – 4 hours at a time, but I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time in a crate. / My potty manners have been good at MM’s and on the prison/foster training program schedule too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys (especially tennis balls and stuffed toys) and love to play, so I look forward to lots of play sessions with you.  A fenced yard would be great in my new home, but I may dig, so – as mentioned above, don’t leave me there unattended.  I like to splash in my water pail so maybe I’m a water dog in the making, lol.  I enjoy getting affection and will reward you with nice kisses.  I also enjoy walks, so let’s go lots of places together and of course be active! / Other than what’s mentioned above I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I’m current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I’ve started 2 medications for some separation anxiety and not getting as much exercise as I need, and they are helping! So just ask for more information about that.  I am looking for a home where my family will be active with me, and we’ll have lots of fun! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 9, 2024, 3:43 pm

Story
Adoption Fee: $200 Physical appearance: Annie is a 12-year-old chow/Pitbull/Labrador mix. She is a medium size dog and weighs about 50lbs. She has the most adorable crinkled ears and her eyes will melt even the iciest of hearts, Personality: Annie just wants you to love her 24/7. She is a total sweetheart and will look at you like she is staring deep into your soul. She does great with the dogs in her foster home, even the testy one. She also ignores the cats. Annie can be quite protective of her foster mom if she thinks something is dangerous, and her bark is a great deterrent. All Annie wants is to sit in your lap, stare longingly into your eyes and sneak a gentle lick now and then. She LOVES breakfast and dinner and even with her age, will get a major pep in her step and try to jump as her foster mom walks her food bowl over. You know she's super excited when she nibbles and nips at your fingers while she trots by your side. She is an amazingly sweet girl that is just looking for the home to let her live out the rest of her days. Why she’s in rescue: Annie was found by one of our volunteers when she ran out in front of her car.  It took no coaxing at all to get her into the car and she was taken to the shelter to be scanned for a chip. The owner was located but stated Annie was old and he didn't want her anymore. The volunteer refused to leave her at the shelter (who could blame her!) and offered to foster her if we would find her the forever home she deserves. Manners and training: Annie is potty, and crate trained, but she will have an accident in the house if not let out often.  She's older and just can't hold it like she used to. She is not destructive in the house and can be left out of the crate if someone prefers. She will also wear diapers without an issue. When her foster mom goes out she just naps on the couch or on the memory foam dog bed. She walks well on a leash but does need help getting in and out of the car. Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption. Annie does have arthritis so steroid injections now and then help keep her pep in her step and reduce any pain. She has a couple of lumps and bumps but they have all been biopsied and found to be benign. ##1810664##
