Abandoned and terrified, she was nearly hit by the very person who would become her foster mom. Since that day, Leena has shown just how resilient and loving she truly is. Once scared and unsure, Leena has blossomed into a happy, bouncy, affection-loving girl who simply can’t get enough attention. She thrives with people who engage with her — walks, playtime, and quality time are her love language.  At just one year old, Leena is already housebroken, crate trained, and eager to please. She’s playful and entertaining (she can happily play on her own!) but also adores cuddle time when the fun is done. Her joyful spirit and sweet personality make her an absolute delight to be around. Leena doesn’t need much — just a family who will give her the attention, activity, and love she’s been waiting for. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. This beautiful girl had a tragic start when, at just a few weeks old, she and her siblings became part of a court case in which their owners were charged with severe abuse and neglect. In April 2023, Hazel and two of her siblings came into my care as foster babies. Since then, she has blossomed in a happy and safe environment, surrounded by her brother and sister. Hazel is 2 years old, weighs approximately 50 pounds and has been spayed. She is up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is crate trained & housebroken.  Hazel is an obedient girl and she knows basic commands such as Sit, Wait, Treat, Walk and Get In. She sleeps 8 hours a night in her crate and never makes a peep. She plays well with her canine siblings and other dogs she knows.  She has medium energy, walks well on a leash and loves to take walks around the neighborhood. Hazel loves people that she knows, but she needs time to warm up to new people. She is a timid girl and likes to take things slowly. She is food motivated which makes her easier to train. She loves to chase squirrels, so a watchful eye is needed. She has never been tested with cats. She would love a fenced backyard because she loves to run and play with the ball. If she runs in the yard for 10-15 mins then she’ll curl up and sleep.  If she doesn’t have a yard, she would do fine with a couple 1.5-2 mile walks per day with additional pee breaks throughout the day. Hazel would thrive as an only dog or with a compatible canine companion.  Her main need is for loving people.  She loves to sit close to you while you’re working or watching TV. Hazel has shown incredible strength despite her difficult beginnings. She deserves a forever home where she can continue to thrive and bring joy and love to a new person or family.July 11, 2025, 4:36 pm

Logan has been with Castoff Pet Rescue since April 2019 — over 6 years — and we’re absolutely baffled as to why.  Not one application. Not one meet-and-greet. Just heartbreaking silence.   Why? He’s just another big black dog. Actually, he’s more of a sable color that doesn’t pop in photos. He’s selective with other pets because he's been waiting SO LONG to be someone’s one and only.  But here’s what we know: Logan gives the best kisses. He parades his Kong like it’s the crown jewels. He’s got the soul of an old friend and the goofy energy of a pup. And he waits. Every. Single. Day.  This 8-year-old, 55lb certified heartthrob is crate-trained, potty-trained, and a proud graduate of a prison training program.
