Story
Meet Floppi A gentle soul from the island of Curaçao, ready to spend his golden years exactly where he belongs, in a loving home. Floppi is an approximately 10-year-old boy whose journey began on the island of Curaçao, where he spent most of his life living outdoors. For years, Floppi survived the heat, uncertainty, and loneliness of life on the streets, never knowing the comfort of a home, the security of belonging, or what it felt like to be truly loved. Everything changed when Ozzie Albies Foundation volunteers were vacationing in Curaçao and crossed paths with Floppi. His gentle demeanor, quiet loyalty, and kind eyes made it impossible to walk away. The volunteers recognized a dog who had endured so much yet still trusted people, and they knew he deserved more than a life of survival. With the help of local rescue partners on the island, Floppi was brought into care and given the attention he had gone without for so long. He received full veterinary evaluations and has a clean health history, with the exception of mild arthritis in his hind legs, which is easily managed with occasional pain medication and supportive care. Floppi’s personality is truly special. He is affectionate, calm, and incredibly social. He loves everyone he meets and has a natural gentleness that makes him wonderful with children, and other dogs. He isn’t demanding or high-energy, instead, he offers steady companionship, quiet loyalty, and a peaceful presence that fills a room. After a lifetime of surviving, Floppi is finally learning how to live. He’s discovering soft beds, full meals, and the simple joy of being near people who care about him. Watching him learn to relax and feel safe has been incredibly moving, it’s as though he’s finally allowing himself to experience puppyhood, just later in life. Floppi would thrive in a home that values routine, patience, and companionship, a place where he can enjoy gentle walks, cozy naps, and the comfort of knowing he will never be alone again. Our greatest hope is to find Floppi a forever home where his golden years are filled with dignity, stability, and unconditional love. He has already proven how resilient he is. Now, he deserves to be cherished. If you’re looking for a senior dog with an extraordinary story and an even bigger heart, Floppi may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Story
This adorable lady is Harlem! She was surrendered to the shelter on January 2nd along with her sister/bestie, Rummi. Sadly, their family lost their home and they had no place for Harlem and Rummi to go. Their former family did note that both girls are good with children, and dog friendly. The volunteers describe both girls as very sweet and friendly, and they sit nicely when asked. Harlem is the more outgoing and confident of the two. If you have room in your heart and home for these sweet girls, we'd love to see them stay together. As we always say anyways, two dogs are better than one! Harlem is approximately 2 years old, and weighs 49 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. She will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Harlem is waiting patiently in kennel 872; her ID # is 16099. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Our hearts are heavy for Mocha, a senior female who arrived at the shelter on 1/3/2026. She had been with her owner since she was a year old. Unfortunately, her owner lost her job and is no longer able to afford to care for Mocha. She misses her owner so much and is confused and sad to be in the shelter. Mocha is such a wonderful girl and she deserves to have a forever home and enjoy her golden years. She is good with dogs and kids and house and crate trained. Mocha is 9 years old and weighs in at 67pounds. She is UTD on vaccines, spayed, microchipped and ready for adoption. She has also tested negative for heart worms. Would you please open your heart and home to Mocha? Please stop by to meet her in run 804; her ID# is 16111. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
