Meet Jeff -- Your Loyal Buddy! If you're looking for a devoted companion who forms an incredible bond with his people, Jeff may just be your perfect match! Jeff is a handsome adult Lab mix (born, we believe in 2023) with a gentle heart and a calm, thoughtful personality. He's house trained, crate trained, and has excellent leash manners. One of his favorite things in the world is heading out for a long walk - especially somewhere peaceful where he can enjoy nature without a lot of hustle and bustle. Jeff is a smart boy who truly enjoys learning. He knows a variety of commands and loves continuing his training, making him a wonderful partner for someone who enjoys working with their dog. At home, you'll often find him relaxing by the window, proudly keeping watch over his family and letting you know when someone is nearby. Like many special dogs, Jeff needs the right environment to truly shine. He experiences anxiety and is fearful of unfamiliar people and new situations, so he takes a daily medication that helps him feel more comfortable. He thrives with consistency, routine, and an owner who is patient, confident, and willing to continue building his trust through positive training. Jeff's ideal home is a quiet one without a lot of visitors or constant activity, and no kids unless they are teenagers. He prefers a predictable schedule and doesn't enjoy frequent changes. A securely fenced yard is a must, giving him a safe place to stretch his legs, do his joyful zoomies, and explore to his heart's content. Jeff enjoys the company of other dogs but would likely be happiest with just one compatible canine companion (larger dogs only as smaller dogs/cats/rodents may trigger his prey drive). He'll do best with an experienced adopter who understands that trust takes time and is committed to helping him feel safe while advocating for him in unfamiliar situations. Once Jeff knows you're his person, you'll discover a sweet, loyal, and affectionate companion who simply wants to be by your side.
