We adopted Clover after hearing of a dog that had just had puppies. We had been looking for awhile and love labs. We have been practicing force-free training and she has very quickly understood things like going potty outside, sit-stay, and not jumping up (though she of course still wants to jump up!). I think you could train her to do just about anything, but really she wants to sniff things, take walks, and lay about on your lap. She is looking for a home, because we have a child and realized that we really should have waited until she was bigger. We also think Clover would benefit from being with other dogs and having a fenced yard. I would say it would be good for her to be with an experienced owner, but that is only because she is in the puppy stage where she wants to chew! She is an incredibly sweet and easy-to-train dog, and is already signed up for puppy classes in Charlottesville that her new owner could take her to if they like (on us). :) Comes with toys, crate, etc.:)

Story
Hank is so small and cute, shelter volunteer thought he was a puppy! See video! Hank is perfect, he's very sweet, loves people and dog friendly. He about 2 yrs old, has a dark brindle/black color short coat, with pretty hazel eyes. He was very thin, anemic (due to worms), and run down when he first arrived, but he's completely vetted and now recovered from his anemia. He's gained weight, up to 40 lbs now, he's active and playful, loves everyone and loves attention. He's good with other dogs, and would enjoy a play buddy his own size. He likes to play with his food bowl but could substitute other play toys as well. He's good on a leash and likes to go fast, he'd do really well in a fenced in yard where he can run and exercise. He's a little too intense with cats, so not recommended. He is good with other dogs, and would like a playmate.
