Story
Right up front… We received a sponsorship donation to help with Andys adoption fee, so it’s been reduced to $400. Andy is a lovable dog who will never leave your side. He likes long walks and loves to sniff anything and everything along the way! Loves to give kisses. Becomes overwhelmed Easily if his boundaries or territories are crossed. House broken, crate trained, needs a fenced in yard. Definitely more suited for a one-dog owner. Cats are ok, and maybe adult kids, he is curious about other dogs ( I can talk you through that) but he can become easily triggered, through car glass, fencing, and protective over his family. He’s very Protective over his home and his people. Needs time to warm up to new people and he likes to feel like he is in charge, being an Alpha which needs to controlled and put in his place, but once he is comfortable, he will be your best friend and trusted companion for life. Very low-maintenance otherwise, although he’s a very hairy guy, brushing is a must. Can be left alone for long periods of time - does not chew or get into anything he's not supposed to. Likes to be right next to you on the couch and the bed. Well-trained - knows place, down, stay, sit, and working on heel. Loves peanut butter as a treat. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
ZENA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED! Zena is a 6 year old lab mix. She was found chained up outside with her 9 newborn puppies at Sardis Lake. The puppies were scattered around during a heavy rainstorm, and she could not reach them. She was severely underweight and heartworm positive when she entered the rescue. She is now 50lbs and heartworm negative! She has come a long way. Zena is house trained, crate trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. She is very loving and craves attention from her people, so she would be fine as an only dog. She does get along well with her furry siblings in the foster home, but she does take time to warm up, so we recommend slow introductions. She is a very active dog and loves to play outside with her foster siblings. She has come such a long way and would love nothing more than a furever home. She has been known to jump a fence, so a tall 6ft wooden fence is recommended to keep her from taking an occasional stroll after a squirrley friend.    Zena has had all of her shots, as well as rabies vaccination, is spayed, and microchipped. Zena is ready to meet and bond with her furever family. Zena's adoption fee of $500 includes the transport to VA.   We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Zena up north to her new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .  You can apply to adopt her here:   http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!
