  Meet Kobe, a beautiful young Flat Coat Retriever with a heart as big as his smile. Weighing about 55 pounds and estimated to be around one year old, Kobe is the definition of a happy, loving companion. He was found alone in a rural Tennessee community, and despite extensive efforts, no owner ever came forward. The caring couple who found him wanted more than anything to help, but their frequent travel made it impossible to give Kobe the stability he needed. Thanks to Critter Cavalry Rescue, Kobe was placed straight into foster care instead of being left behind in a rural shelter. Kobe has a personality that lights up every room. Friendly, affectionate, and eager to please, he has the classic temperament of a Flat Coat Retriever — often described as very similar to a Golden Retriever, but with a sparkle all their own. He adores other dogs, loves meeting new people, and greets everyone with a wagging tail, a joyful grin, and his signature move of offering his paw for a handshake. Kobe’s warmth and enthusiasm make him an incredible family dog. Kobe will be neutered on December 13th and microchipped so he will always have a way home if lost again. He is searching for a family that can offer a safely fenced yard, plenty of companionship, and a lifelong commitment to keeping him secure and loved. Kobe would be an excellent fit for a home with children and active people who are excited to share life with a joyful, devoted dog. Hi, I'm Sabrina! I am laid back and love a simple routine, but am also excited to explore the world. Though I cherish quiet moments like basking in the sun, I can easily be convinced to go for a walk, a hike, or even pull my owner on a skateboard! Me and my toy ball are inseparable and I'm always eager for a game of fetch or tug of war with it. My independent spirit means I'm content on my own but always loyal to those I love. I've also mastered the art of being super attentive to human's moods and am always ready to offer love, cuddles, and gentle kisses during anxious or hard times. Because I was attacked as a puppy, other dogs make me upset, so I need to be an only pet. If you're looking for a sweet soul to share in both peaceful and playful times, I'm your girl!

Meet Ivy! This gorgeous girl is around 1-2 years old. We are unsure what she is mixed with, but we are guessing she has some husky in her due to her antics. She is such a sweet girl and SUPER energetic. She would love a family that goes to the lake, river or has a pool, she is a MAJOR water dog. She is looking for a super active family that can take her on long walks and plenty of adventures. She has done well with dogs she has met here but meet and greets are required. She would do well with children as long as she does get her energy out just due to the jumping around as she can be a wrecking ball at times. If interested in Ivy, the shelter is open Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm pending on if staff is in the building. You can also call the shelter at 804-520-9397 ext. 5 to set up an appointment!

Meet Izzy! This girl was an owner surrender at no fault of her own. She was surrendered with Roscoe and Hemi. She can be dog selective so meet and greets are required if you have another dog. She did live with a cat and did fine. Izzy is around 4 years old. She will be protective of you and the property....just ask our officers hiney, Izzy thought it looked delicious when she was on her previous owners property and decided she wanted a snack, so she does have a bite under her belt with minimal blood drawn. Once she gets to know you and trusts you she is a very sweet girl I mean just look at that face!
