Story
Meet Ivy! This gorgeous girl is around 1-2 years old. We are unsure what she is mixed with, but we are guessing she has some husky in her due to her antics. She is such a sweet girl and SUPER energetic. She would love a family that goes to the lake, river or has a pool, she is a MAJOR water dog. She is looking for a super active family that can take her on long walks and plenty of adventures. She has done well with dogs she has met here but meet and greets are required. She would do well with children as long as she does get her energy out just due to the jumping around as she can be a wrecking ball at times. If interested in Ivy, the shelter is open Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm pending on if staff is in the building. You can also call the shelter at 804-520-9397 ext. 5 to set up an appointment!

Story
Meet Reggie, a sweet and playful tan Labrador mix around 6–8 months old. Reggie was found as a stray alongside his buddy Regis, and we believe they’ve grown up together. While they’re a great pair, Reggie is more than ready to shine on his own. This goofy guy is full of love and energy. He’s affectionate, social, and always up for some fun—whether it’s chasing toys, wrestling with a friend, or snuggling up for a nap. Reggie is still a young pup, so he’ll thrive with continued guidance and structure as he learns the ropes of home life. He’s looking for a family who’s ready for a loyal companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold. If you’re ready to welcome a young dog who will keep you smiling, Reggie might be your perfect match. To learn more or schedule a meet and greet, email us at adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Lacey – A Sweet Soul Ready to Heal Lacey is a gentle, affectionate girl who’s been through more than her fair share—but she’s still holding onto hope. Thought to be a Lab-hound (or possibly Lab-beagle) mix, this petite sweetheart weighs around 38–40 pounds. While her current condition makes it hard to know her exact breed mix, one thing is clear: she’s full of love. Lacey is currently being treated for demodex mange and a yeast infection, and her vet-prescribed medications will go with her to continue care. She doesn’t require immediate bathing, just a calm, safe place where she can rest and heal. Despite her physical state, Lacey’s sweet spirit shines through. She’s gentle, quiet, and easy to be around—grateful for every bit of kindness she’s shown. What Lacey needs most now is a soft place to land, a home or rescue where she can finally feel safe and begin her journey back to health. She deserves a second chance—and someone to show her how good life can be. If you can help Lacey start her new chapter, please email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com. She’s waiting.

I enjoy slow strolls, gentle affection, and quiet moments with people who care. If you’re looking for a mellow, loving companion to share your days with, I just might be your girl. Story
Mochi (the lighter one in the photos) is a 6-month-old Lab/Hound mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. This sweet girl came to us alongside her brother, but she tends to take more of a backseat, letting him lead the way while she observes and takes it all in. Mochi may be a little more submissive, but she’s incredibly affectionate once she feels comfortable. She loves being close to her people and thrives on positive attention. Whether she’s curled up at your feet or bouncing around in the yard, Mochi is happiest when she knows she’s part of the pack. She’s still a puppy at heart and has the energy to prove it—Mochi will do best with an active adopter who can give her the exercise, enrichment, and continued training she needs to grow into her best self. Mochi is fully vaccinated and ready for her next adventure—could that be with you?

Story
Bullet (the darker pup in the photos) is a 6-month-old Lab/Hound mix with a bold spirit and a playful heart. True to his name, he’s fast, curious, and always on the move. He thrives on adventure and would love an active home that can keep up with his energy. Bullet is more confident than his sister Mochi, who came in with him, and tends to take the lead in new situations. He’s affectionate with people and enjoys being part of the action—but he can sometimes be a bit of a bully with other dogs. He does best with dogs who can handle his strong play style and will give him clear boundaries. Bullet should not live with cats. This smart pup is fully vaccinated and ready to find a forever home that will help him channel his energy into something positive. With a little structure and continued socialization, Bullet will make a loyal and entertaining companion.
