Hi, I'm Black Jack! I'm a happy, playful, and loving dog who enjoys spending time with my humans and dog friends. I love to play, go for walks, and explore new places. Whether I'm running off-leash or walking calmly on a leash, I'm just happy to be with you.I was found alone on the boardwalk, covered in bite wounds, including a large one on my leg. I also had ehrlichia and anemia, but I've recovered well thanks to care and love. I'm very gentle and friendly with everyone. I'm not a guard dog -- I'll happily greet anyone who comes my way. I get along great with other dogs and I'm eager to learn new tricks if you give me the time to train.I would do best with an active young person, a couple, or a family with older kids who want a loyal and playful companion.This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Meet Simon! He came to WAG as part of a litter of 6 after spending the first two and a half months of his life in the forest on the Olympic Peninsula. As a result, Simon is still shy around people he does not know.  While in foster care, we have learned that he is a cuddle bug with those he trusts. If you are looking for a constant companion, look no further. This sweet guy will bond tightly with his people. Because of Simon's shy nature, he needs people that will be understanding and patient with him as they train Simon to be the good dog we know he can be, and a calm environment. Due to his tendency to run when frightened, experienced dog owners are needed. Meet Choopy! This sweetheart came into WAG's care when in the early stages of recovering from flea allergy dermatitis. In the time she's been in foster care, we've gotten to see her get healthier and see what a great companion she is. Choopy is a great companion in the home! When she's comfortable, she rarely barks. She is agile, a quick learner, and is very food motivated, so she will go as far with training as an adopter wants to go. She had little to no training before coming to her foster home, but is showing a lot of improvement and is very trainable. She continues to need reminders to not counter and table surf. Choopy's ideal home would need a securely fenced yard (at least 5' tall), people that can continue working on her training, and either no other pets in the home or a laid-back dog. She has lived around kids and does well with gentle kids.
