Meet Simon! He came to WAG as part of a litter of 6 after spending the first two and a half months of his life in the forest on the Olympic Peninsula. As a result, Simon is still shy around people he does not know.  While in foster care, we have learned that he is a cuddle bug with those he trusts. If you are looking for a constant companion, look no further. This sweet guy will bond tightly with his people. Because of Simon's shy nature, he needs people that will be understanding and patient with him as they train Simon to be the good dog we know he can be, and a calm environment. Due to his tendency to run when frightened, experienced dog owners and good fencing are needed. Most of our dogs require a fully fenced yard, this does depend on the individual dogs needs and safety requirements. Sheldon is incredibly intelligent, very sweet eager to please, and has been working very well with a trainer and ongoing training. He is excellent with children of all ages. He has been living with a two-year-old. He is a large and awkward, goofy boy and sometimes knocks over our toddler but the toddler doesn’t seem to mind. He was adopted two months ago, and after a bit of transition has done very well. Unfortunately, he is leash aggressive/reactive. We are not sure if it is excitement to see another dog, but because of how loud his bark is it tends to be concerning to other dogs and owners. He is improved immensely with his leash walking, but still has some room to grow. He would do best in a house with a fenced in yard as he is still a puppy and needs space to be his goofy self. Due to his reactivity, we have not experimented with other dogs, although we were told he came from a home with several children and several other dogs.
