Memphis was adopted March 2022 from the SPCA in Largo Fl at age 2. She had just been spayed prior to adoption. She barks when she sees other animals out the front window or when she is out in the backyard, although we’ve never had another pet in our house since we adopted her. She loves being outdoors laying in the sun & rolling in the grass or dirt, belly rubs, her dog treats, and going on walks. She loves to sleep up on beds. She will run zoomies around the backyard every chance she gets. Ideally, in a new home, she would be the only pet, or live with a puppy, would have a large backyard, or at least a fenced in backyard that she could lay out in the fresh air, and run around as often as able. She eats well and loves to sit, trying to get handouts when the humans are eating..She’s very alert to weather changes, & is a good guard dog.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fable is a loyal, loving dog who was surrendered by her owner to the shelter and was so anxious we just had to rescue her. She probably has a little beagle in her, but she definitely has a lot of affection and cuddles to give. She does not have the wanderlust that many beagles do, and would rather be with her people. When her humans are ready to go inside, she is right there with them. She can be a little cautious with new people and new places in the beginning. Fable has done really well with housetraining and crating. She is fine being crated for up to 8 hours. Her energy level is moderate and although Fable had not previously shown interest in toys she has now become very attached to a stuffed Hedgehog. She has no interest in squirrels or rabbits. She does like her food and at meal times will do the cutest little ballerina spin before she sits for her dish. Fable is heartworm positive but has already been treated and her recovery is going very well. She is available for a sleepover. Duffy Girl is a deeply loving, goofy, loyal companion looking for a calm home with an experienced dog owner who can help her feel safe and secure. I adopted her over 5 years ago, and while she’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, house trained, and generally low maintenance, she carries trauma from her early life that has led to fear-based reactivity toward some people and dogs when startled or anxious. Most of the time, Duffy is cuddly, playful, and wonderfully well-behaved. She thrives with routine, patience, and someone who understands anxious dogs and can confidently manage her triggers. As our family prepares for a baby, we know she would do best in a different environment where her needs can come first. This is an incredibly difficult decision made purely out of love for her. We are hoping to find Duffy a compassionate, experienced home where she can continue to feel safe, loved, and understood, rather than face the stress and uncertainty of a shelter.

Rocket has been at the shelter for some time and would love to find his forever family soon. He's seeking an adult only home where he longs for the day he feels safe and loved, watching TV while chewing on his favorite Nylabone. Rocket has had a traumatic past; sadly losing trust in people. but never losing love for people. Rocket has a special staff member friend at Satchel's and is learning to trust and enjoy what life has to offer. He has a fear of "harsh corrections" and is scared of being "dragged" by his collar so can be apprehensive about anyone putting one on, but does walk very well on a leash. He is housebroken, crate trained, and very obedient, always wanting to learn new tricks and skills. Waterplay is Rocket's favorite outdoor activity, always being ready to play in the sprinkler. He loves to run in the backyard and enjoys playing with Frisbees, tennis balls, or his giant ball he can push around. Always followed by a cool down in the kiddie pool. If you have a calm home where Rocket will feel no threats, please consider adopting this 8-year-old boy.
