Story
Theo is a sweet, quiet, healthy, cuddly, and active young foxhound who is fully housed in trained and up on all his shots and neutering. He’s a rescue (found wandering in NC), and has been fully rehabilitated. However, the home where he’s being fostered now (where he spends days cuddling with a cavapoo and being sweet to our 2 year old grand daughter) is too small for him. He has no yard and we work too much to give him the walks he needs. He would do great in a home with a fenced yard or an active owner who likes to hike.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- JOLENE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.My adoption fee is sponsored!Hi, I'm Jolene. Living here, I've discovered the joy of companionship, both with my human friends and dog pals. I'm a bit shy at first, but give me a little time, and I'll show you my gentle, sweet nature. I love my quiet moments, maybe in a cozy crate where I feel safe and secure. I dream of a home where I can share my mellow love, maybe with someone who understands that like me, everyone needs a little space sometimes to feel truly at home. If you're looking for a calm, loving friend, I'm your girl. I especially want to be with a doggie pal!To inquire about Jolene, please call 5404681575 or email info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.org*Jolene is spayed 6y 40 lbs. Her adoption is sponsored and includes a microchip with lifetime registration, 4dx SNAP heartworm test, DHLPP, Bordetella, and rabies and parasite control. Also included in the adoption are 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, a new lead and collar, and an adoption kit.Apply online:https://www.highlandcountyhumanesociety.org/available-animals/To contact us, please send an email or FB message to:Email: info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgFacebook: www.facebook.com/HighlandHumaneWebsite: www.highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 15, 2026, 12:05 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   *This is a courtesy posting. Harlan is not at DPR, but his current owner asked us to help find him a great home!* Meet Harlan – A Sweet, Spirited Hound Looking for His Perfect Home Harlan is a 3-year-old hound mix with a heart as big as his nose! His Wisdom Panel DNA results reveal a rich hound heritage—53% American Foxhound, 26% Plott Hound, 19% Treeing Walker Coonhound, and a touch of Bluetick Coonhound—so it’s no surprise that he has a strong prey drive and a passion for following scents wherever they lead. Originally rescued after being abandoned on the side of the road, Harlan has blossomed into a loving, energetic companion. He adores being outdoors and lives for long walks, sniffing adventures, and any opportunity to use his hound instincts. He’s happiest when he has a job to do or space to roam, making him a great fit for an active household with land, a secure yard, or even a family who enjoys hunting or has experience with working breeds. Harlan is:  Up to date on all vaccinations  Neutered  Paperwork in hand  House-trained and eager to please  Best suited for someone experienced with strong, active dogs While Harlan is deeply affectionate and eager for companionship, he’s not the best fit for homes without secure fencing or those with limited mobility. His enthusiasm for tracking means he can be a strong puller on walks—even with training tools—and needs someone who can manage his strength and give him the stimulation he craves. We love Harlan dearly, but due to serious health challenges in our family and the lack of a secure yard, we know we’re no longer the right home for him. Our greatest hope is to find someone who sees his potential and can give him the life he deserves: safe, stimulating, and full of love.  If you have room in your home—and heart—for a smart, loving hound ready for his next adventure, please reach out. We’re happy to share more about his personality and history. Helping Harlan find his forever home would mean the world to us.  If you are interested in adopting, pleas fill out a 'Dog Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Current Location: Manassas Va Hello! My name is Nova! I am estimated to be a 2 year old Australian Shepherd/Fox hound mix. I am the momma to the Surgical Suite pups- I raised my puppies and now its time for me to find my forever home! Here is what foster mom has to say about me: - I am pretty nervous at first meeting so I need an adopter that will take it slow with me and let me have time to come out of my shell. I'd probably do best in a home without small children since they can be a little scary at first. I dont have a mean bone in my body, I just may run and hide. - Even though I'm nervous, I still want to cuddle. I will come lay in your lap and ask for pets and attention. I really am the sweetest girl! - I do not yet understand what a leash is, and its kinda scary. At the moment, I would really prefer a home with a fenced in backyard. Im a really good girl and will do my business then come back to you to get pets and attention. I think I will learn to like being on a leash, but it may take some training. - right now, I love playing with the puppies in my foster home, but the adult dogs are still a little scary. Im pretty sure I will like them once I settle in a little. - once I feel comfortable, im all typical 2 year old- i like to play and run around the yard! - I havent had any accidents in my foster home and I like my crate. I go right in and im silent in it all night. - I am spayed and up to date on all my vaccines! I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!
