Story
Hello I'm Joy, a 3 year old Tree Walking Coonhound. I came from the South with a pile of puppies whom have been adopted so now its my turn! My foster says Joy is the perfect name for me, I love everyone! I’m the greeter at the door for visitors, holding my head down like a lady to be pet. I love spending time with my people, going outside to play or go for a walk. As soon as I get inside I’m ready for some snuggling and watching tv. I am a good girl- totally housebroken, crate trained ( if you tell me to go in the crate I do on my own ). I walk great on a leash and ride well in the car. I have been spayed and Im all ready to meet you and be your new best friend! ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Complete adoption application and submit following appropriate link below: Dog/Puppy: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Dog Cat/kitten: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Cat It takes us about 1-3 days to process applications. Once approved, we ask that all members of the household (including dogs) be available for meeting the animal within 3 days. If the meeting goes well, you will submit payment electronically and be able to take your new family member home with you immediately! If for whatever reason you do not take the animal home after the first meeting, please understand that we will continue to process applications for the animal and availability is not guaranteed. 4. Please review these resources prior to the meeting to be prepared with what to expect when bringing a new dog home: a. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- CLYDE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. WWW.BAWF.ORGVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2025, 9:17 pm

Having lived life on a chain, Harry Neil is now enjoying romping in a fenced yard, interacting with other dogs in his foster home and soaking up all the attention. Harry is kind and quiet and surpisingly petite! The mass on his face is a damaged salivary gland. Nothing can be done for it but it does not hurt or bother him. Henry is looking for a compassionate family who understands that he missed out on a lot of things while pursing a career in hunting. He will need extra support with house training and basic manners. Henry Neil deserves a comfy home with a wonderful family to enjoy the rest of his life! He'll pay you in kindness and gratitude.(We do not recommend hunting hounds for homes with cats.)A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Harry Neil, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
