MEET AUBREY!STATS: 2 years old, spayed, American Foxhound Mix, 42 lbsAFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a super sweet and playful girl! While I have a lot of hound energy, I get it out when playing outside, running around with other dogs, or chasing the ball. Fun fact - I play very well with other dogs and toys and I have shown that I know how to share very nicely!WHAT I LOVE: I love to play with toys - anything that squeaks, bounces, or rolls! I really love it when my humans are included in on the fun, so playing fetch is a perfect activity! I love to run and would do excellently if you have a yard!KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks my low key but playful, sweet personality would make me a good buddy for kids that are respectful and kind towards me.OTHER DOGS: I`m dog-friendly and enjoy the company of other dogs! I go to playgroup here at the shelter!CATS: UnknownHER MATCH: I would be the perfect dog for someone looking to make their life a little more fun and active! I love going on walks, so I could keep us both in shape! I have such contagious loving energy. I would do great with a dog sibling or as an only dog, as long as I have someone to love me!SPECIAL NOTE: You should see my pearly white smile!Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in.Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.

Story
The Gentle Soul: Meet Tuna 🐟❤️ If you’ve been looking for a quiet, low-energy companion to fill your home with love (and zero noise!), Tuna is the catch of a lifetime. Tuna has been waiting for her forever since November, and after spending a few weeks in a foster home, we’ve discovered that she is truly a "plug-and-play" dog. She is the ultimate apartment-dweller—peaceful, polite, and perfectly content to spend her days following you around like a slow-moving, tail-wagging shadow. The Stats on Tuna: The Ultimate Roommate: Tuna is living the co-ed life! She currently shares her foster home with other dogs and two cats, and she gets along famously with everyone. Silent & Sweet: Tuna has a "no-bark" policy. She has never barked or howled in her foster home—she prefers to let her gentle tail wags do the talking. A+ Student: She is the triple threat of foster dogs: Fully potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She is a dream on a walk, moving slowly and taking in the world at her own pace. A Total Love-Bug: Tuna’s favorite activity is being near her person. She is low energy and mostly wants to be petted, cuddled, and showered with affection. A Note on Her Heart: Tuna is a very passive, gentle girl, but she does carry a bit of her past with her. She can be a little hesitant at first due to being mistreated before coming to the shelter, but her longing for love far outweighs her fear. Once she knows she’s safe, she will follow you from room to room just to be in your presence. The Perfect Match: Tuna would fit perfectly in a home looking for a "chill" companion who doesn't require high-octane exercise. If you have a quiet home, a soft spot on the couch, and plenty of love to give, Tuna is ready to be your loyal, loving shadow.

Story
Rusty is a sweet, social young hound mix with lots of energy and a big heart. He does great with kids and other dogs, and can adjust to cats with time. He loves attention and will settle after exercise. Still working on leash manners (can pull when excited). Best suited for an active home that can give him the time and space he needs. Rehoming due to major life changes, not behavior.

Story
(Disclaimer: Bambi is priceless to me, the adoption fee is to help with diapers and baby clothes.)I had a baby 3 months ago and had to move. Despite my efforts, the home owner won’t let me have dogs. I’m devastated. Bambi was making progress with training until I got pregnant and couldn’t make time anymore. She is an absolute joy once she gets used to you and she’s a great cuddle buddy too. Anyone would be lucky to have her as she is the most devoted and loving best friend Ive ever had. She just needs a little confidence building and compassion because she’s been through a lot. She would do better with an experienced owner who will continue her training and enrich her life. The previous owner said she was Foxhound, but I think she’s a Redtick/Istrian Shorthair Hound mix with a dash of Dalmatian.
