Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Dr. Pepper is two and a half years old but has an old-school hound vibe. When he came to us a year and a half ago he was very shy and took a long time to trust people. He has many people and dog friends now, and once he knows you and trusts you he is quite the snuggler. He waits patiently for that perfect person to come take him home. He is a very reasonable guy, will walk calmly on lead, and isn’t much of a crooner. Dr. Pepper loves to be stroked on his head and face-- of course he enjoys body rubs too. He plays with the toys in his room and kennel. Dr. Pepper regularly goes to daycare at Camp Merricks and enjoys running around with other dog friends. He LOVES to play with other dogs. And often doesn't want to return to the shelter. He will need a little time and patience to adjust to his new home, but this handsome boy is totally worth it! Fill out an application and come meet Dr. Pepper soon!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    June 10, 2026, 7:34 am

My adoption fee is sponsored! Hi, I'm Jolene. Living here, I've discovered the joy of companionship, both with my human friends and dog pals. I'm a bit shy at first, but give me a little time, and I'll show you my gentle, sweet nature. I love my quiet moments, maybe in a cozy crate where I feel safe and secure. I dream of a home where I can share my mellow love, maybe with someone who understands that like me, everyone needs a little space sometimes to feel truly at home. If you're looking for a calm, loving friend, I'm your girl. I especially want to be with a doggie pal! To inquire about Jolene, please call 5404681575 or email info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.org * Jolene is spayed 6y 40 lbs. Her adoption is sponsored and includes a microchip with lifetime registration, 4dx SNAP heartworm test, DHLPP, Bordetella, and rabies and parasite control. Also included in the adoption are 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, a new lead and collar, and an adoption kit. Story
Meet the cutest little guy around! He is a compact ball of love and we call him our "Walmart Greeter". Carson's person died a couple of years ago and he is needing a new home. Carson is a happy little guy who loves everyone and gets along great with other dogs. Carson is playful, housebroken, snuggly, likes to play with toys and would love a family to call his own again. This little guy is part Shih Tzu part.... Bassett?? A short, stocky little man for sure. Don't let those little legs fool you though, he likes to run and play with the big dogs. Carson is housebroken, so the hard work is done for you! He is an adult with a lot of life left! Let him snuggle up to you and you can heal his little heart. If you'd like to adopt Carson, please fill out our online application at www.goofyfootrescue.org Carson is in foster care in West TN and will be transported once his adoption is finalized.
