Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Maddie, and I am a sweet French bulldog girl who is 5 years old, and I weigh 27 pounds. I get along with other dogs and I do need an adopter who is familiar with the needs of my breed. Children over 7 years old would be okay with me. If you have been waiting for a nice Frenchie, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Meet Angel: Your future Snuggle Buddy and goofy velcro sidekick! Angel is a resilient, quirky little Frenchie who's come a long way from her breeder mama past. At 3 years old, she's finally learning what love, comfort, and belly rubs are all about, and she's ready to share her HUGE heart with the right person. Angel is very fearful with new people and needs a few days (and some quiet patience) to feel safe. However, once she opens up, she becomes your shadow, following you around the house, snuggling in your lap, and letting you know exactly how excited she is to see you with the cutest zoomies, happy little toe taps, and infinite kisses. She's silly and incredibly affectionate, with a huge personality packed into her small, snorty body. Angel is fully crate trained and uses her crate as a safe space. When left alone, she settles quietly without any destruction or accidents. She also sleeps peacefully through the night this way, though she'd be thrilled to snooze in her family's bed instead. That said, Angel would thrive in a home where crating is minimal and she can stay near her people most of the time. She's potty trained and often uses the dog door independently, but her foster still takes her out every 2-3 hours and after meals. After slow introductions, Angel loves to follow and play with other Frenchies, but she lives and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. She'd likely do best in a home with at least one confident dog to help her come out of her shell. Angel is cat-friendly and coexists perfectly with the kitty in her foster home. Angel will make a wonderful companion for the right person, but -and it's an important "but"- she's still healing from her past and learning to trust the outside world. She's afraid of new people, barks at dogs and humans on walks, and she can't live with kids. She'll need a calm, quiet, adults-only home, without a lot of visitors. As she adjusts, she'll need lots of patience, and someone who's willing to go slow. Fortunately, Angel is very responsive to training and has made great progress with desensitization. Her fosters manage triggers by giving her quiet crate time with music when guests are visiting, choosing calmer walks, and using mental enrichment. Reward-based training has stopped her barking at neighbors in the yard, and she’s continuing to work on household noise sensitivities. The good stuff: Great with other dogs and amazing with cats! Potty trained, learning the dog door. Zero destruction in the home; great about getting her toys out to chew. No counter-surfing or baby gate jumping. No resource guarding. Very smart, quick learner. Picked up basic obedience in just minutes. Snuggle champion and couch companion. Settles easily and loves a cozy routine. Challenges: No children- She's fearful and may snap in their direction if startled. Fearful of unexpected noises. Will need continued training and desensitization to these in her new home. She may bark in the yard or on walks, so apartment/condo living might not be ideal. Angel may have had a tough start, but she’s blossoming into a loving, loyal, and endlessly entertaining companion. With patience, understanding, and a calm home, she’ll reward her forever family with unconditional love, constant cuddles, and a lifetime of snorts, smiles, and happy zoomies. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly little shadow to share your days with, Angel just might be your perfect match.
