Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! Meet Joy! The face of resilience and happiness in a cruel and unfair world. Joy, a puppy mill survivor, was used for her first five years of life as a breeding dog, having litter after litter of puppies. After she was surrendered and saved by rescue, it was obvious that while Joy was a happy and playful pup, there was something a little different about her. After several veterinary visits, it was determined that Joy suffers from a neurological deficit of unknown origin that makes her tilt her head. At first, Joy's prognosis looked poor, but after being in foster care for several months, it was determined by her foster family and her veterinary team that Joy is a happy, joyful pup who is enjoying a seemingly "normal" life, eating all that snacks that she can, barking at anyone that comes to her door and snoring during her naps like a proper French Bulldog does. Joy is currently fostered with other dogs and with small children. She has also met cats in her foster home. Joy has done well with everyone (two legged or four) that she has met! True to most puppy mill rescues, Joy can be a little scared of new people and new situations, but she comes around very quickly once she is shown love! Joy is looking for a special home to give her all the love and spoils she deserves. If this sounds like your family - apply today! Joy's adoption fee is $100. "To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! Meet Mortimor — Our Brave Little Survivor Age/Weight: 7 years, 35lbs Breed: French Bulldog Background: Puppy Mill Survivor Mortimor has spent most of his life in a puppy mill, but those dark days are finally behind him. Now, this sweet 7-year-old Frenchie is learning what it truly means to be loved and cared for. Despite his rough past, Mortimor is gentle, curious, and full of quiet charm. He’s discovering the simple joys of life — soft beds, tasty meals, and the comfort of kind hands. Mortimor enjoys calm spaces and spending time near his favorite humans. Because of his past, he can be shy at first, but with patience and love, he opens up beautifully and shows just how affectionate he can be. Mortimor can be a bit greedy with food and water because of his past. Mortimor would thrive in a peaceful home with people who understand that healing takes time. He’s looking for a forever family who will give him the safety, stability, and love he’s always deserved. Mortimor is crate trained and working on house training. Let’s help Mortimor start the next chapter of his life — one filled with comfort, kindness, and endless cuddles. Mortimor is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! Meet Charlotte! Charlotte is a 5-year-old, 23 lb French Bulldog with a sweet personality and classic Frenchie charm. She is great with kids and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. One of her favorite things is playtime with her doggy friends, and she truly thrives with canine companionship. Charlotte has a fun little quirk: she can go up stairs but needs help getting back down them. She is still working on being house trained and has gotten a bit more comfortable on a leash, she will go for a walk with a little bit of convincing but hasn't figured out that’s where to go potty. We have been utilizing doggy diapers as potty pads have not been effective. She’s looking for a patient, loving home that will embrace her quirks and spoil her with affection and playtime. If you’re searching for a gentle, dog-friendly Frenchie who loves companionship and play, Charlotte may be your perfect match. Charlotte is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $400.00.
