This is what months of patience, love, and training looks like. If you are genuinely interested in adopting Winston and are ready to put in the work, please read this entire post. Winston came to us incredibly fearful and very stubborn. He had a skin/ear infection. What initially appeared to be a head wobble turned out to be petit grand mal seizures. He didn't feel his best and on top of this his whole world was turned upside down. Needless to say he did not trust us at all. He would lash out at us and to be transparent, he got us good a few occasions. He would seemingly wait for us to retaliate, but instead we met him where he was with patience and understanding.  After many months of trust building and several training sessions, we are at a place where we feel Winston is ready to be adopted. He will need someone very dedicated and patient who understands that he needs time to build trust and who can set firm boundaries and continue training with him. He is eligible for someone who would foster-to-adopt. Winston would thrive in a home as an only pet and with no children. He is crate and potty trained. He really loves walks and play time! He is on an anxiety med as well as a seizure med. He is sensitive to certain diets so we stick to salmon based dog food. He knows sit, stay, shake, and so much more! I really would rather be an only dog but I might be okay with a dog that is calm. I sleep quietly in my crate at night and have never had an accident in my crate. Penelope studied Ballet at Cincinnati Ballet School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a Principal dancer and danced so beautifully. She was coming out of a Ronde de jambe and lost her footing and fell. After many doctors appointments she has not gained full movement from her waist down. The poor girl lost most of her feeling in her right leg. She still has her pointed toes though! After many people tried and couldn't deal with her dancer drama, BadAss Bulldog rescue jumped in and took over. Penelope is now thriving and slowly getting on her feet. We believe that with continued acupuncture she will just keep getting better! Here is a little snippet from Penelope herself so you can get to know her! I am the happiest girl you will ever meet! I love to play, chew on toys, get pets and treats!!! I've never met a treat I didn't like! I'm a chewer so I always need something to chew on. As you have noticed I don't walk very well. After seeing all these doctors we decided to start acupuncture. So far it is really helping! I'm gaining more stability in the left leg but my right leg still gets a little wonky. I'm standing more and walking some. I use a brace and wheelchair to help me walk. When I'm not in my brace and wheelchair, I'm the fastest dog on two legs!I am incontinet, I sometimes wear diapers and I don't alway know when I need to go to the bathroom. My foster mom tries to give me more outside time so I don't have any accidents in the house. I love it outside! I also love to play with the other dogs. I enjoy tugging on toys with my foster sister, it's my favorite game. I will say that the one thing I enjoy the most is laying in my bed and chewing on my toys. Walks aren't really my thing but I love car rides. I love to play with toys, snack on popcorn and snuggling on the couch. I would love to be in a home where I'm not crated all day and all night! I also need someone that will have patience to continue my potty training even with the occasional accidents in the home. Please read his bio to the end :) Bodie is a young dog that needs a home with structure and rules as he grows and matures. He’s not had much guidance in his life up to this point so he likes to think he’s the boss. He would do wonderful in an active home that can provide structured walks, feeding schedule, play schedule,morning/night time routines, etc, each day. He would do best as an only dog due to his need to be in charge. He does also exhibit some object guarding with his favorite toys and he jumps when he’s excited, for those reasons he would do best in a home with humans 13 and older. Those are the not so fun realities of his rescue needs. All of which could improve with patience, time, and work. Now, let’s talk about all of his good qualities. He really is a sweet boy when you can get him to focus and you can manage his energy. He knows sit, stay, come and he almost spins for a treat, we’re working hard on that one. He is completely, 100% potty trained, just show him where you’d like him to do his business and he’s good. He is completely, 100% crate trained. He sleeps in his crate all night long. He LOVES to go for walks and car rides. Bodie has great potential to be a fabulous dog, he’s young and he likes to learn. He is unfortunately the result of someone getting a high energy dog and not putting in the work to provide him the structure he requires to be a good boy.
