Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Story
Meet sweet Finch. Finch is friendly and a little shy. Based upon her looks, we think that Finch has some Pug and Beagle in her. Finch has a sad "resting" face, but take her on a car ride and be amazed at her transformation! Finch is house trained and crate trained and is enjoying hanging out with her new four legged besties. We love watching Finch blossom as she gains confidence in knowing that she is on the way to a better, happier life. To meet Finch, fill out an application on our website at wimberleywagrescue.org. Don’t worry—there’s no obligation to adopt when you submit an application!

Story
Sweet Amber is another Spindletop survivor from last summer's raid and seizure. They killed her friend Stella who was also boarded there. Amber is a special soul. She is a loving and wonderful companion. She is funny and squatty with her red satin-teen collar and will lay around all day if you let her. She loves watching tv with you and just being with humans. Amber is super trained, does down, leave it, off and walks wonderfully on lead. She is as charming and quirky as they come and a truly special dog. Amber, like all of the Animals First and Reunion Rescue dogs, is crate and house-trained, raw fed and homeopathically treated. We have a wonderful foster to adopt program and lifetime guarantee for all our dogs. Please contact doggirl1@earthlink.net to arrange a meet and greet with Amber at the Reunion Rescue No-Kill Refuge.   Visit Amber on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-Amber-and-Stella-abused-in-Houston/137819022958959?fref=tsMay 22, 2024, 5:48 am

Story
Our Chad unsurprisingly had an instant fan club He is another of our dogs, lucky enough to have had a lovely life so far.He was surrendered to us by a loving family whose circumstances changed enough for them to choose to surrender him. Now it's up to us to make sure he can continue to live the life of leisure that every bulldog deserves! Chad is getting some much-needed medical care, and he does seem to suffer from a very bulldog-typical seizure condition that is managed through medication. This will mean that his family must be willing to keep him on his medications without question. And that gorgeous, squishy face means our boy needs some help breathing. For the right family, okay to manage some typical bulldog-level medical needs, who ideally has another chill, cuddly, friendly dog, Chad is going to be THE perfect addition. He's potty trained, polite, and loves his crate. He also loves kiddos, but typically, he does not know his own size and has been known to bowl over toddlers :) Apply now to avoid missing out on this beautiful, beefy boy.*Chad needs palate surgery to help him to breathe. Until he's recovered from the surgery, he cannot manage car trips without the risk of becoming over-excited & suffocating.
