Story
Totty is a deeply affectionate, people-oriented dog who thrives on closeness and connection. He’s happiest curled up beside you, leaning in for pets, or climbing into your lap for a cuddle session that he’d prefer never ends. If you’re looking for a constant companion, Totty is ready to fill that role wholeheartedly. Out and about, Totty is an easygoing walking partner. He moves along on a loose leash and has shown he can comfortably pass people, children, other dogs, and even busy park activity without reacting. He’s house-trained, knows “sit,” and settles in nicely at home, often choosing to relax nearby while you go about your day. He also has a playful side that comes out in bursts of zoomies, games of fetch, and enthusiastic squirrel-watching. He enjoys time in the yard, exploring, and splashing in shallow water, but just as quickly returns to check in for affection and reassurance. Totty will do best with someone who values a close bond and is happy to have a loyal, loving dog by their side.

Story
Sweet Amber is another Spindletop survivor from last summer's raid and seizure. They killed her friend Stella who was also boarded there. Amber is a special soul. She is a loving and wonderful companion. She is funny and squatty with her red satin-teen collar and will lay around all day if you let her. She loves watching tv with you and just being with humans. Amber is super trained, does down, leave it, off and walks wonderfully on lead. She is as charming and quirky as they come and a truly special dog. Amber, like all of the Animals First and Reunion Rescue dogs, is crate and house-trained, raw fed and homeopathically treated. We have a wonderful foster to adopt program and lifetime guarantee for all our dogs. Please contact doggirl1@earthlink.net to arrange a meet and greet with Amber at the Reunion Rescue No-Kill Refuge.   Visit Amber on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-Amber-and-Stella-abused-in-Houston/137819022958959?fref=tsMay 22, 2024, 5:48 am

Story
Big trouble because we still have THE CUTEST dog in residence. ? Billy has been settling into a wonderful routine in his foster home, and proving over and over how amazing and resilient dogs can be. This handsome guy is fully potty trained, sleeps soundly through the night, rides beautifully in the car, and is happiest when he's spending time with his people. Whether he's soaking up the sunshine, carrying around a tennis ball, enjoying a leisurely walk, or curling up for a nap, Billy is all about the simple pleasures in life. Billy has been going to school lately ? so he can learn to share. He didn't get to have a loved family life prior to rescue, so he has been getting some training to help him learn that the special things (like the couch and foster mom) are resources he can trust aren't going to be taken away if anyone else comes around. This of course is a common insecurity in dogs that never had the creature comforts they so deserve. Thankfully his trainer feels he is doing better every day. Billy is a good boy and he has even been respectful of the resident cat. He has learned that his crate can be a pretty nice place to relax. And he is able to be left in the home on his own without any issue. Billy had BOAS surgery and also had cherry eye surgery soon after arriving in rescue and has recovered from both nicely. At around 45 pounds, he's maintaining a healthy weight, his coat looks amazing, and he's feeling better than ever. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Billy might just be your perfect match. Apply QUICK before someone else scoops up this very special boy. ? Story
Meet Elora! ? Elora is a sweet little Velcro bulldog who has already decided that her favorite place is right next to her person. If you're looking for a shadow that comes with wrinkles, she's your girl! She absolutely loves squeaky toys, adores snuggling, and has the cutest little routine after every meal. As soon as she's finished eating, she takes off to find the nearest blanket so she can enthusiastically shove her face into it. ? Elora is still settling into home life and learning that houses, comfy beds, and being loved are all pretty wonderful. She's understandably a little timid at times, but every day her personality shines a little brighter. ? She was DUMPED with another dog ?, and she's still figuring out how she feels about the resident pups in her foster home. We'll continue learning more about her preferences as she settles in. One thing we do know is that bunny rabbits are very exciting to Elora, so we're looking for a home without small animals. We also think a cat-free home will likely be the best fit, although she hasn't been formally cat tested. Elora will also be saying goodbye to one eye while in rescue. Don't worry, she's already mastered the art of looking adorable with just one, and we can't wait for her to finally be comfortable. ? Stay tuned as we keep getting to know this sweet girl. ? Lovely girl is heartworm positive, so she must stay close to our Austin vets for her treatment. Don't worry; heartworm infection is way LESS scary than it sounds, and our team will cover the cost of and provide all guidance for her care.
