Story
Giselle - Frenchy/Chihuahua - Female - 2 years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Giselle: This cute little Lady is about 2 years old and we think a Frenchy/Chihuahua Mix - she's a little long and a little opinionated. Here are some of her opinions on things – no one should be allowed to do anything fun without her, treats should be given out freely and often, and she should be able to go back inside as soon as she’s done using the potty (She is not an Adventurer but rather identifies as a Sofa Princess). Giselle can be a little nervous around new people at first, but once you’ve earned her trust she is as goofy and playful and affectionate as they come. Due to her past, she is extra weary of men (and we don’t blame her), but she loves food so with some of treats and patience, we think she can be won over by just about anyone. We think Giselle could be happy as the only dog in a home, but she would probably love a dog companion, because she has a lot of puppy energy still and really wants to play. As we mentioned earlier, she loves food and she has shown a tendency to resource guard it, so she is looking for a home with a confident, somewhat experienced dog handler who is willing to work with her on that. This is the same reason we wouldn’t recommend a family with children under the age of 10, as younger children tend to have food in their hands often and those hands are at just the right height for Giselle to steal it from them. And she’s not very polite about it. Giselle does well in a crate, especially when the rest of the house is quiet. If she hears fun going on she does get a bad case of FOMO (fear of missing out) and will bark, but she response well when corrected. She also does well in the car and she’s been doing amazing with potty training. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets*** ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
Bailey is an amazing little girl, she was a rescue! She absolutely loves her toys, She hardly can wait for her next bark box lol. We live on a small farm, she is allergic to horse feed and she inevitably finds it to eat. She also has unfortunately killed 3 of our barn cats. I feel she would have a better world at a loving home without cats and horses. She is on some meds due to a possible trachea issue but it does not hinder her quality of life.

Story
Echo is a sweet boy to the right person. He seems to do well with women and some men. Echo does great off-leash and on. He is a happy boy who just wants to be near his person. Echo would do well in a home with not too many other people or animals. He is ok with small dogs but does not care for larger dogs. Echo does not do well meeting new people without a careful introduction. If you want to learn more about Echo, please reach out.

Story
Nova is a 35lb adult (5yr-ish) French bulldog mix. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would love to find a forever home. She is still working on her housetraining (great with #1, still working on #2). She walks perfectly on a leash and adores snuggles and couch naps. She loves to show her excitement by wagging her whole body! She came into the rescue with a number of health issues - like most Frenchies - and needs an adopter who understands the financial committments of owning this wonderful, but expensive breed. She had a corneal ulcer (being treated with eye medication), a UTI (treated), unaltered (we fixed her), and with heartworms (she's on the slow kill treatment). Despite all of that, her spirit is amazing - full of love and happiness!! https://youtube.com/shorts/tdpFSLhJosk?feature=share Nova is located in Houston TX and will only be transported upon completed adoption. Her adoption fee is $500. Inquiries will not be responded to unless a completed application has been sent. You can fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org. You must fill out all of the blanks in the application - put "n/a" if one question is not applicable to you.

Story
Meet Lola, a gem of a dog - super sweet, loving and loyal. She was found on the street one cold wet night, starving.  With a heart as big as her playful spirit, she loves people and wants to be with her people.  She would be good with older children as smaller more active kids may overwhelm her. She does well on a leash but will stop and check to make sure you are following her.  She is a quick to learn and eager to please you.  She does the cutest high fives!  She gets along well with other dogs, making her the perfect addition to any family or fur-friend squad. She will guard her food bowl if another dog comes by using her head to push the other dog away.  She loves head rubs and will talk to you in her own adorable way as she gets rubs.  She is house trained and gives you several signs when she wants to go outside to potty, including going to the door, or if you are sitting in a chair, she will grab you hand in her mouth or barks at you.  Lola's funny antics and loving nature will keep you smiling and laughing all day, and she will be your loyal companion through thick and thin. Come and meet this wonderful girl and give her the forever home she deserves! Lola is a special needs dog and will need an owner who is able to care for her current and future heath needs. Lola survived a bad heartworm infection that has left her with heart issues that will require continued medication and veterinary checkups. Like many French bulldogs, Lola is also susceptible to other ongoing health issues. We expect Lola will live a long and happy life with proper care.  If you are interested in her, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard.  Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!January 4, 2026, 4:25 am

Story
Harlow came into my care after his previous owner had to move and was no longer able to keep him. He is a 3 and a half year-old French Bulldog with the sweetest, most gentle personality. Harlow is very affectionate and loves being close to his person. He enjoys relaxing, short walks, and being in a calm, comfortable environment where he feels safe and loved. Harlow would do best in a patient, low-stress home with someone who understands or is willing to learn about French Bulldogs and their needs. He is a loving, loyal companion who may need a little extra care, but he gives so much affection in return. Harlow is truly a special dog and deserves a home where he can be cared for and cherished.
