Story
Sweet, high-energy 5-year-old girl looking for a loving home with space to run and play. She's house-trained, sleeps in a kennel (which would be included), and is great with older kids. She gets along with some dogs, but not all, so a meet-and-greet is best. We're not sure how she is with babies or very young children. She's very affectionate and loves being around people. Just a note-she sometimes gets a sore back leg after a lot of running, so active days should be monitored. We're heartbroken to re-home her, but we don't have the ability to give her the attention and care she deserves. She would thrive in a home that can give her plenty of love, playtime, and companionship. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and lively companion, she might be the perfect fit for you!

Story
Is April the sweetest girl you've ever seen? Well, yes, she could have told you that. The sweet and shy April is something of a gentle giant. Her smile in this picture portrays her personality perfectly. A gorgeous German Shepard girl who would love to get to know you. She needs a little love, but it's easy to do. With her soft eyes she will melt away your worries, and her friendship will be an amazing reward. April was not treated well in a former life so she needs a little time to trust you, but she will trust you if you treat her right and she will love you forever.

Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Bear's owner recently passed away unexpectedly, and he is in need of a new home. Bear is super sweet and always happy to see you. He can be protective of his home and family, but warms up quickly when you are introduced by people he already knows. He is interested in training and loves to go on walks, explore, and lounge around. He has lived outside on a lead most of his life, so may need a little extra care getting used to a new lifestyle. We would love to get Bear into a loving home as soon as we can! We are in the process of getting Bear to a veterinarian, so all his shots will be up to date soon!

Story
Titan: The Best Boy and Sidekick You’ve Been Looking For! He's a great balance of fun, playfulness, and snuggles all rolled into one! Just give him a minute to get to know you ( treats work wonders) you’ll find a loyal buddy who'll soak up all the affection you've got to offer. Dog friendly, but hasn’t met a cat yet (so TBD). Titan was chained in a house when it caught on fire, causing burns to his face and the right side of his body, hence the scarring, but he is healing well and holds no grudges. Est. birthdate is 10/5/2023, 53 lbs., his $300 adoption fee includes vaccines up to date, neuter and microchip.
