Story
Chase is a very special boy that has a very hard life. He came to us very malnourished and had an unfortunate accident that resulted in his back leg broken, then not only healing wrong but also fusing the knee. This causes his leg to stick straight out. Chase is a very happy boy and this doesn't stop him one bit. He can still get out and run with the rest of his siblings with no problems. He will need help as he gets older with arthritis and most likely hip dysplasia. Chase is also heart worm positive. He has been treated for his heart worms but he will continue to test positive until they all die out. Because of this it is extremely important for him to have heart worm prevention every month on time. No exception. If you want to meet this amazing resilient young boy, please put in your application to adopt. He deserves to have an amazing someone that wants to love, snuggle, sleep with and take care of him with must needed pup cups, treats and belly rubs.

Story
Barnum is a beautiful Shepherd mix with a tender heart and a cautious spirit. Once feral, he learned to survive by relying on his instincts — and now he’s learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and understood. For the right person, Barnum will be an incredibly rewarding companion. But he isn’t for everyone. He’s for his person. Barnum becomes devoted to the person who makes him feel safe: offering gentle affection, leaning in for reassurance, and even rolling over for his favorite thing in the world — belly rubs. His mid-level anxious energy means he startles easily — even squeaky toys are a little too exciting for him right now. Barnum needs someone who understands that progress doesn’t happen overnight — but that small steps forward are victories worth celebrating. He will thrive with someone who will let him set the pace — whether that means giving him a little space or inviting him to cuddle when he needs reassurance. If you’re the patient, gentle, dog-savvy person Barnum has been waiting for, he’s ready to start that journey with you. Tanner is the kind of dog who settles into your home — and your heart — like he’s been there all along. This sweet, laid-back boy loves nothing more than being close to his people, whether that means quiet cuddle time on the couch or simply hanging out by your side. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, has an easygoing personality, and is showing signs of being housetrained. Tanner doesn’t need to be the center of attention to shine — his calm, loving nature makes him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal best friend who fits right in from day one. Story
Meet Sweet Pea, a 4-year-old shepherd mix who would be perfect for almost any home. Sweet Pea is great with cats, has an extremely high tolerance for crazy kids and walks absolutely perfectly on a leash. It really does not get any easier than Sweet Pea.  Sweet Pea was found wandering and pregnant, and she was taken into rescue late last year. Her 11 puppies all found homes in January, and since then Sweet Pea has gone from stressed mama to the most joyful, carefree dog. After a life that probably wasn’t so ideal, Sweet Pea now exudes happiness. She’s so grateful for her new life!    Based on a breed test from one of her puppies, Sweet Pea is likely a German Shepherd, Treeing Walker Coonhound, Chow Chow and American Pit Bull Terrier mix. She’s medium height and weighs about 45 lbs full grown. She’s crate trained, fully potty trained and travels well in the car. On a leash, she is perfection: she walks right next to you and never pulls.  At home, Sweet Pea is calm and a little lazy. She takes lots of naps and loves to be near her person. She also loves a good nap in the sunshine, and prefers to sleep on her back with all four paws up in the air. Sweet Pea doesn’t need a ton of exercise, but she loves a walk and enjoys meeting new people out in the world.   Sweet Pea is in a foster home with two young children, and she really is wonderful with children of all ages and energy levels. She even does well with children in large groups and has shown an affinity for children with special needs.   Sweet Pea also spends lots of time with the two cats in her foster home. She has formed a close bond with one of those cats and respects the personal space of the one that isn’t interested in her. Although she isn’t currently in a home with other dogs, Sweet Pea has done well with all the dogs she has met. And of course she was the best mama to her 11 puppies.   Sweet Pea is truly the most perfect, turn-key dog, and any family would be lucky to have her. Apply today if you want to be that lucky family.
