Story
This is Stevie Nicks, a German Shepherd/Lab mix of about 1 ½ years. Stevie is a real cuddler who doesn’t realize she’s not a lap dog! (She weighs 45 pounds!) She’s also energetic and happy.  She can become anxious if left alone, though, so it’s best to crate her then.  This really helps her, and she considers the crate her safe place.  Stevie loves “indestructible” stuffies; they last the longest for her. She loves to play fetch with her balls and knows how to sit and give her paw. Stevie walks great on a leash and we have started bike leash training, but that is still very new for her. Stevie is great with children. Stevie is comfortable around other dogs and loves to play once she is appropriately introduced. She has mostly only interacted with other large dogs her size. Stevie currently lives with a cat. She’s not a huge fan but is more frightened of the cat than anything.  (HS    R 2/11/24))  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00May 2, 2024, 8:34 pm

Story
Meet Layla, a smart and lively girl who is house and crate trained. She understands basic commands such as "sit" and takes treats gently. Layla loves running and playing. While she thrives with larger dogs that can engage in rough play, she gets along well with smaller dogs too. Initially, Layla can be a bit reserved when meeting new people and requires some time to warm up to them. However, once she forms a bond, she becomes like Velcro, sticking close to her favorite person of the day. During walks, she may display uncertainty around people passing by, but she has shown significant improvement by managing to walk by with just a few curious glances. Layla's intelligence is impressive, and she excels at observing and solving obstacles, learning as she goes. She interacts well with adults and older children, although she may be a little too playful for smaller children due to her size If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
