Bella is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Meet Bella, the true definition of an active, outdoorsy girl! Bella loves to be outside, sniffing, exploring and just enjoying the fresh air. In winter, Bella enjoyed doing epic zoomies in the snow, but now that spring is here, Bella is in her element. Whether she is `helping` with gardening, playing with water from the hose, or showing off her fetch skills, Bella loves the outdoors! Her other love in life - hanging with her people! From car rides, to cuddles, to keeping an eye on you while you work, Bella is always happiest if she can be nearby. Bella is an active and playful dog who enjoys people and has previously lived with cats, kids, and a small dog. She is still working on building her confidence with on-leash walks, and would benefit from an active, patient family who can support her as she builds her skills. Reach out to Calgary Humane if this sweet lady sounds like she could be the perfect addition to your family!A bit about Bella:- kids okay; all interactions should be supervised- cats okay; slow, supervised introductions recommended- dogs okay pending successful introduction

She’s searching for a calm home where she can settle in and relax after going on fun new escapades with her people. Juniper is wonderful in the car and will happily lay down in the backseat while she waits for her next adventure! She enjoys getting out to sniff and explore, though she can pull on leash at times. She has lots of energy, loves to dig, and will happily chase a ball, though convincing her to give it back is part of the game! She also entertains herself well with her toys when it`s time to settle down. Juniper has lived successfully with cats and may do well with a feline friend again! She can be selective with other dogs and would be happiest as the only canine in the home. She adores butt scratches, greets new people with enthusiasm, and has been gentle and friendly with kids she’s met. She loves people of all sizes!Due to a history of itchy skin and potential allergies, Juniper will need a special hypoallergenic diet and medication to keep her feeling her best!Juniper is the perfect mix of energetic and snuggly and would make an amazing companion to any family. Come meet her today!Juniper is:- good with kids- open to cats, has successfully lived with before- no dogs

Story
This fun and exciting boy is looking for his an active structured adult home. His new people would have previous experience with a dog who needs patience and time to bond. He is friendly but he aloof and is a dog who may not want to snuggle in your lap, he is independant and likes to explore his environment, he would much rather focus on sniffing around then cuddle time. He will be a great companion for hiking and adventures! He does require a private consult or group class with his adoption. Size: Medium 27.8kg / 61.16 lbs Children: Adult only home pleaseCats: Untested, slow introductions would be recomended Dogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyle

Story
Hi future family, My name is Donggu. 😊 I’m a 4-year-old German Shepherd boy weighing around 32kg. I may look big and strong on the outside, but deep down I’m a gentle, calm soul who truly loves people. 💛 Before I was rescued, I was living in a city shelter and came very close to euthanasia. I went through difficult times, but somehow I never lost my trust in humans. Even now, I still greet people with kindness and an open heart. When I meet someone new, I usually lower my head slightly and greet them very politely — that’s just my way of saying hello. During walks, I sometimes wag my tail and gently approach people passing by because I genuinely enjoy human company. And honestly… if you have a treat, we’ll probably become best friends very quickly. 😊 If unfamiliar visitors come into the house, I may be a little cautious at first, but I warm up pretty fast once I realize everything is okay. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats. 🐕🐈 Whether I become your one and only dog or join a home with other pets, I adapt very well and enjoy peaceful companionship. My personality is calm and gentle overall, but I also enjoy outdoor activities and walks. I’m not overly high-energy, so I’m the kind of dog who enjoys both adventure and relaxing quietly beside my family. Walks are one of my favorite things in the world. I love sniffing around and exploring new scents. I can pull on the leash a little sometimes because I get excited, but if my person asks me to stop, I listen pretty well. Loud cars, flapping banners, cats, or birds during walks don’t really bother me much — I’m usually more focused on enjoying the moment with my human. I prefer going potty outside and enjoy having a regular routine, usually with morning and evening walks. I don’t struggle with separation anxiety, but if soft toys, cushions, or fluffy items are left around while I’m alone, I might chew on them a little for fun. Other than that, I’m a very quiet and relaxed boy at home and rarely bark. I absolutely love sweet potatoes and chicken, and I’m not picky with food at all. Even taking medicine is easy for me if it’s hidden inside a yummy snack. I’m also very polite at the vet and stay calm during checkups.💛 People say I’m smart and very observant. If you teach me something calmly, I try hard to understand what you want from me. Right now, I’m learning “sit” and doing my best every day. 😊 I’ve experienced many changes and difficult moments in my life, but I still believe in people and still know how to love. Now I’m hoping to find more than just a temporary place to stay. I want a real family — someone to walk beside, rest beside, grow older beside, and share everyday life with. I’m waiting patiently for the family who will fill the rest of my life with love, comfort, and forever memories. 🐾 Love, Donggu

Story
Imagine being just six weeks old, living outdoors in a rural community during freezing winter temperatures—surrounded by ten other dogs, competing for food, warmth, and survival. That was Link’s beginning. It’s a heartbreaking start, but it’s only one small chapter of his story. Link came into care with Megan's Rescue in the dead of winter—tiny, unsure, and still learning that the world could be kind. Since then, he has done nothing but grow. Now a young adult, Link is patiently waiting for the family he’s always deserved. Link is a happy, gentle soul with a playful streak. He adores his toys and has a special love for carrying sticks along on his adventures. He travels wonderfully in the car, is house trained, and crate trained—making him an easy companion to welcome into a home. He does well with other dogs, though he can show some resource-guarding tendencies, so continued guidance and structure will help him thrive. Because of his rough start, Link isn’t 100% confident in every situation yet—but he is eager to learn, eager to please, and highly food motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for both of you. Above all else, Link loves people. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s by your side, building trust and soaking up love. Link has survived his hardest days. Now he’s ready for his best ones—could that be with you? 🐾

Story
German Shepherd, 22 months – Seeking Experienced Home Sweet, affectionate 22-month-old German Shepherd looking for the right home. She is gentle with our kids but is very boisterous, and forms strong bonds. Fully house-trained and crate-trained. She has a sensitive stomach, so diet needs consistency to avoid gastrointestinal upset. She is reactive to other dogs and currently wears a muzzle on walks, so she requires an experienced, confident handler willing to continue training. She can be destructive if left unsupervised and does best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Smart and loving, but needs structure, boundaries, and attention. Will steal food if given the chance. Best suited to an experienced owner, preferably breed experienced, in a pet-free home and ideally child-feee home. In the right environment, she will be a loyal and rewarding companion.
