Story
Estrella is a Shepherd x cattle dog cross weighing 45 lbs. Estrella and her litter of 5 were found near the SPCA Puerto Vallarta sanctuary. Their mum Keisha was tied up and left blind after surviving being poisoned. The puppies were in very poor condition suffering from malnourishment at such a young age. Estrella spent her early life in the SPCA PV sanctuary in Mexico. On walks she would always check that her blind mum was ok and would guide her along. Estrella is now in foster in Kelowna where she is living (and cuddling) with two other dogs. She can be timid to start with new dogs and cats, but really loves to walk with other dogs and is playful. She enjoys the beach, swimming and playing frisbee. She was the calmest of her litter. Estrella would like a home with a yard and would surely love another dog in the home. Estrella has been kind with people. She's a stunning dog with a kind heart. If you think you might be a good fit for Estrella please email pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little bit about yourself, and we can send you an application, or you can find our online application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw Adoption fee $550.00CDN

Story
Sweet Keisha is looking for a home. She is 40 lb shepherd x lab with a kind and brave soul, who just melts into the arms of those kind enough to give her affection. Keisha was found in Puerto Vallarta, skinny and hungry, trying to care for and protect her litter of 6 puppies. She had dug a small hole to hide them as she stood over them, chained up, until thankfully the angels of the SPCA PV came to rescue them. After her rescue, they learned that Keisha was also blind, they believe from poisoning. Keisha's pups all inherited her kind soul and affection for humans. And we hope that Keisha herself will find her own happiness. Naturally because she can't see, she enjoys sniffari walks, to take in the world around her, and would love a safe property to explore her world in between cuddles with a family that this time would love her. If you think you may be able to give Keisha a home, we'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. You can also go directly to our application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

You just have to go slow, recognize her body language cues, and gain her trust before she shows it to you. Soon, she'll be sticking by your side or happily lounging close to you for nap time! Sweet Pepper is also incredibly smart and eager to please; just imagine the amazing things you can teach one another! With all of her smartitude comes a lot of energy so she would love plenty of routine playtime, exercise, and enrichment. Since it may be harder for children to understand when she wants space, the ideal home for Sweet Pepper would be one without young kids. Being found as a stray means that there's not much known about her past, but that means there's more for you to discover about one another! So make an appointment today and come say hello to the smart and playful Sweet Pepper!

sed her as my testing dog for a bit. Found her to be very unique and kept me guessing on her breed. What I do know is that she in an absolute sweetheart. She was calm in our kennels but does like to talk like a Husky. She has been seen being dainty but also playful, so really hard to understand her personality as she is a unique character in herself. ##1801837##

This sweet girl came in all stand offish. she is finally starting to come around. She is curious so it makes it easy to work with her. She is sweet just not overly social yet. With me she is soft and affectionate. I try to engage her in play but it scares her a bit. She is playful with other dogs and dogs helps with her confidence. She has so much potential and is waiting for her own person to bond to. ##1981792##

Story
This dog has become well known around our town as well as his owner who was a sweet homeless guy. this guy has shown up to the shelter a few time and the owner has always come back. The owner would either be hospitalized or arrested for sleeping in the wrong area so his dog would come back to us. unfortunately the man passed away leaving his very well behaved and beloved dog behind. He was loved by everyone who knew him. The community tried to rally to save this pup but sadly no one stepped up until barc saw the post. He is good with small and large dogs. Was told good with cats but never witnessed him with cats. He was clearly trained well and was a loyal dog. ##1981807##
