**Bolt is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Bolt is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as he is not available to meet on site.Bolt is a big personality in a very handsome package! This energetic, toy-loving guy is always ready for action, whether that means a spirited game of tug, chasing toys around the house, or showing off his adorable vocal “commentary” while he plays. He’s incredibly affectionate with the people he trusts and absolutely loves snuggling up for cuddles and brushing sessions after a busy day.In the home, Bolt has shown himself to be quite content and has settled nicely with his foster family. He has done well being left alone for short periods and enjoys spending time close to his people. He’s smart, knows his name, has great recall, and forms strong bonds with the humans in his circle.Bolt would benefit from a family that can provide him lots of structure and understanding as he navigates his new life! A family that can help him direct his excitable energy into appropriate channels and help him learn his best leash manners would be ideal!Bolt is also a dog who will need understanding, structure, and ongoing support from his future family. He is a very high-energy dog who can become easily overstimulated, especially around toys and during exciting situations. Sometimes his enthusiasm can come across as intimidating — he may bark loudly, jump up, or become very fixated on toys during play. His foster family found that calm voices, slow movements, and clear boundaries helped him settle and make better choices.Bolt is looking for an active, experienced home that will embrace both his lovable quirks and his challenges. With the right people beside him, this playful, snuggly, larger-than-life dog has so much potential to shine.A little bit about Bolt: - Kids: Can live with older kids, preferably 10 years and older! All interactions must be actively supervised by an adult.- Cats/Small Animals: no cats; potential for cats in future- Dogs: Potential for another medium/large dog, pending a successful dog-to-dog interaction.- Detached housing preferred

Story
Pepper is a 5 year old female shepherd who weighs 68 pounds.Meet Pepper! A gorgeous German Shepherd who absolutely LOVES her ball and some good treats! This playful, energetic girl already knows how to sit, lie down, and shake a paw, and she’s eager to keep learning. Pepper has shown some reactivity behind a barrier and can be a little hesitant when meeting new people or when things get busy. With a slow and thoughtful introduction (and lots of treat bribery), Pepper begins to warm up and show her friendly self. She`s still learning to make friends, and when Pepper has had enough, she will let you know! She`s also not a fan of hands at first and is not completely warmed up to the idea of pets yet, but she`s always happy to go on a nice walk (while working on some leash skills!) where she loves to take in her surroundings and explore. Pepper is a very environmentally focused girl who’s always interested in what’s happening around her! Pepper is a very intelligent working breed who would thrive in an active home that can keep both her mind and body busy with plenty of exercise, training, and fun jobs to do. She can also be quite wary of new people and situations, so a family that can read canine body language would be best!A bit about Pepper:- 16+ who can read dog body language required.- Has lived with another dog with a negative experience; potential for a respectful, similar-sized dog pending successful introduction- May show barrier reactivity and can be hesitant with new people; slow, thoughtful introductions recommended.

** Diego is on a sleepover, wish him luck! **Meet Diego, a sweet, people-loving boy who you`d never believe was originally found as a stray! This friendly pup is smart, eager to learn, and already knows his basic commands like `sit`, `down` and even `leave it`. He`s also getting much better with recall and has shown us that he’s house trained - what a good boy!Diego is great with other dogs and would love having a canine companion in his new life, whether that means sharing his home with another dog or having a regular doggy friend to see. With that being said, Diego will need a home with no cats or small animals due to a history of prey drive. He’s still working on some doggy manners when he gets excited, but he is quick to redirect and is always very gentle! When he’s not playing or enjoying a good walk, Diego will be settling in for some serious snuggles and scratches with his humans. When he`s spending time alone, he especially loves food enrichment like snuffle mats, stuffed Kongs, and puzzle feeders to keep him entertained. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, affectionate, and well-rounded companion, Diego is waiting here for you!Diego is:- unknown with kids, supervised interactions required- no cats or small animals- dog-friendly, open to dog pending successful intros

Story
This girl is a little lost here at the shelter. She is anxious and potentially looking for someone she may know. Due to this she appears anxious at times and overall unsettled so far. She is friendly but also aloof and environemntally focused at times. She has moments of being insecure as well. She does choose to sit close and lean up to the people she is with but is waiting and watching the doors closely. She is a big and strong girl who will need a handler that can manage her strength. An antipull harness would benefit her new people while teaching her some loose leash walking. She can be avoidant of dogs and appeared asocial so far with them but this may be becuase she is busy with something else on her mind still. She has had some introductions with dogs and appears to enjoy secure male dogs who are playful but know when to take breaks. She is seeking an adult only home with experienced dog owners. A private consult or basic manners class will be required with her adoption. Size: Large - 32 kg /70.5lbs. Children: Adult only home pleaseCats: Slow introductions reccomended Dogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyle and preferably neutered male.

Story
Hi future family, My name is Donggu. 😊 I’m a 4-year-old German Shepherd boy weighing around 32kg. I may look big and strong on the outside, but deep down I’m a gentle, calm soul who truly loves people. 💛 Before I was rescued, I was living in a city shelter and came very close to euthanasia. I went through difficult times, but somehow I never lost my trust in humans. Even now, I still greet people with kindness and an open heart. When I meet someone new, I usually lower my head slightly and greet them very politely — that’s just my way of saying hello. During walks, I sometimes wag my tail and gently approach people passing by because I genuinely enjoy human company. And honestly… if you have a treat, we’ll probably become best friends very quickly. 😊 If unfamiliar visitors come into the house, I may be a little cautious at first, but I warm up pretty fast once I realize everything is okay. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats. 🐕🐈 Whether I become your one and only dog or join a home with other pets, I adapt very well and enjoy peaceful companionship. My personality is calm and gentle overall, but I also enjoy outdoor activities and walks. I’m not overly high-energy, so I’m the kind of dog who enjoys both adventure and relaxing quietly beside my family. Walks are one of my favorite things in the world. I love sniffing around and exploring new scents. I can pull on the leash a little sometimes because I get excited, but if my person asks me to stop, I listen pretty well. Loud cars, flapping banners, cats, or birds during walks don’t really bother me much — I’m usually more focused on enjoying the moment with my human. I prefer going potty outside and enjoy having a regular routine, usually with morning and evening walks. I don’t struggle with separation anxiety, but if soft toys, cushions, or fluffy items are left around while I’m alone, I might chew on them a little for fun. Other than that, I’m a very quiet and relaxed boy at home and rarely bark. I absolutely love sweet potatoes and chicken, and I’m not picky with food at all. Even taking medicine is easy for me if it’s hidden inside a yummy snack. I’m also very polite at the vet and stay calm during checkups.💛 People say I’m smart and very observant. If you teach me something calmly, I try hard to understand what you want from me. Right now, I’m learning “sit” and doing my best every day. 😊 I’ve experienced many changes and difficult moments in my life, but I still believe in people and still know how to love. Now I’m hoping to find more than just a temporary place to stay. I want a real family — someone to walk beside, rest beside, grow older beside, and share everyday life with. I’m waiting patiently for the family who will fill the rest of my life with love, comfort, and forever memories. 🐾 Love, Donggu

Story
Imagine being just six weeks old, living outdoors in a rural community during freezing winter temperatures—surrounded by ten other dogs, competing for food, warmth, and survival. That was Link’s beginning. It’s a heartbreaking start, but it’s only one small chapter of his story. Link came into care with Megan's Rescue in the dead of winter—tiny, unsure, and still learning that the world could be kind. Since then, he has done nothing but grow. Now a young adult, Link is patiently waiting for the family he’s always deserved. Link is a happy, gentle soul with a playful streak. He adores his toys and has a special love for carrying sticks along on his adventures. He travels wonderfully in the car, is house trained, and crate trained—making him an easy companion to welcome into a home. He does well with other dogs, though he can show some resource-guarding tendencies, so continued guidance and structure will help him thrive. Because of his rough start, Link isn’t 100% confident in every situation yet—but he is eager to learn, eager to please, and highly food motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for both of you. Above all else, Link loves people. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s by your side, building trust and soaking up love. Link has survived his hardest days. Now he’s ready for his best ones—could that be with you? 🐾
