Story
Daisy is a stunning Shepherd/Husky mix with the most striking blue eyes and plenty to say! This chatty girl loves to “talk” to her people and will happily share her thoughts throughout the day. She enjoys getting out for walks, exploring the world at her own pace, and then settling in once she feels comfortable.Daisy can be unsure around new people and needs time to warm up, but with patience and slow introductions, she turns into a sweet, loyal girl. She’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands canine body language and can help her continue to build confidence.Daisy has previously lived with another dog and may do well with another with successful introductions and careful management. She has also been around children, but due to her sensitive nature, she would do best with older, respectful kids. Cats would be new for her, though! After a rough few weeks, Daisy is ready to leave the shelter life behind for a loving home that she can blossom in. If you are ready to go at her speed, open your home to Daisy today!Daisy is:- open to dogs- open to cats, no history- open to older kids who can respect boundaries and body language

Story
Imagine being just six weeks old, living outdoors in a rural community during freezing winter temperatures—surrounded by ten other dogs, competing for food, warmth, and survival. That was Link’s beginning. It’s a heartbreaking start, but it’s only one small chapter of his story. Link came into care with Megan's Rescue in the dead of winter—tiny, unsure, and still learning that the world could be kind. Since then, he has done nothing but grow. Now a young adult, Link is patiently waiting for the family he’s always deserved. Link is a happy, gentle soul with a playful streak. He adores his toys and has a special love for carrying sticks along on his adventures. He travels wonderfully in the car, is house trained, and crate trained—making him an easy companion to welcome into a home. He does well with other dogs, though he can show some resource-guarding tendencies, so continued guidance and structure will help him thrive. Because of his rough start, Link isn’t 100% confident in every situation yet—but he is eager to learn, eager to please, and highly food motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for both of you. Above all else, Link loves people. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s by your side, building trust and soaking up love. Link has survived his hardest days. Now he’s ready for his best ones—could that be with you? 🐾

**SADIE LADY is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Sadie-Lady is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Sweet Sadie-Lady is the sort of dog that you can`t resist! With her adorable face and penchant for doggy kisses, she has the makings of a friendly companion! Just be sure that you`re ready to help teach Sadie some proper doggy manners as she can get over-excited and try to jump when meeting new people.Sadie is also a very active dog that would thrive in a home that is just as busy and energetic as she is. Be sure that you`re prepared to offer her all of the walks, training, and enrichment she needs to stay at her happiest and healthiest! Speaking of her new family, Sadie should be the only pet in home as she does not get along well with other animals. But you won`t go without as she`ll be sure to give you all of the cuddles and affection you would ever need!In her previous foster home, we discovered that Sadie-Lady is completely house trained, non-destructive and can be left alone to free roam for a work or school day without issue. She did great with her 12-year-old human foster sister, and has had successful supervised interactions with a younger child as well. Her former foster family says she is the `perfect balance of playful and calm` and `just loves love`!Can you already imagine the life you could have with Sadie by your side? If so, or if you want to learn more, than come meet Sadie today. She can`t wait to say hi!Sadie-Lady is:- open to kids- no dogs- no cats or small animals

Story
Location: Medicine Hat Area// Age: 1 Year, 8 months// Sex: Spayed Female// Energy Level: Medium// Dogs: Yes, Gabby loves other dogs// Cats: Yes, but wants to be friebds and will chase// Kids: Yes// If sunshine could take dog form, it would look a lot like Gabby ☀️ This brown-eyed beauty is the definition of joy on four paws — playful, loving, and just the right mix of goofy and smart. Gabby spends her days romping around the yard with her foster playmate, trading zoomies for cuddle breaks and never turning down a snack (seriously… she’s very food-motivated 🍗). Gabby loves dogs, thinks cats are fascinating (dog-savvy cats only, please — she really wants to be friends!), and she’s a total sweetheart with kids. She’s the kind of pup who fits right in — whether it’s family movie night, a weekend hike, or a road trip to somewhere new. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find her forever people — the ones who will include her in all their adventures and love her for her playful, happy heart. Because honestly? Gabby isn’t just a good dog. She’s a great dog — the kind that makes every day brighter. 💛If you would like the opportunity to meet Gabby - please complete an application on our website and one of our volunteers will be in touch to arrange a phone call: https://www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com/dog-application-form
