Story
Tucson isn’t exactly a sprawling metropolis, but now the big city can come to you! Ok, we don’t know if Metropolis is actually a big city boy, but we think he’s a pretty worldly kind of guy! Metropolis is a sweet boy who was found as a stray during a pretty intense heat wave all the way back in 2021. With another hot Arizona summer fast approaching, we’d love to see him back in a home.Metropolis has been housebroken in former homes, enjoys sleeping at his person’s feet, and has been described as a sweet, energetic dog. In his most recent home of two years Metropolis did well with kids, small dogs, and even cats. He likes car rides, is crate trained, loves toys, and is an affectionate dog who just wants to be near his people. He can be shy when meeting new folks, so needs a family who understands that and can help him feel safe.Metropolis shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been appropriate and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. If you`ve got some room in your heart and home for a big city guy living in the biggest little city in Arizona, ask about Metropolis today!

Story
Mack trucks are known for their reliability, which must be how our boy got his name- Mack is reliably one of the sweetest boys in the shelter!! Mack is a senior gentleman who spent his whole life with the same family before first coming to PACC in 2021. In that home Mack was housebroken and spent time with kids ages 3 and up. In fact, his former family said that he loves kid…and everyone else. He was also crate trained and LOVES food and attention. Mack was adopted and spent two and half years in another home. He’s returned to the shelter because his family was having a baby (though he did well with young kids in that home). His most recent family said that Mack enjoys going on hikes, is a couch potato when at home, likes car rides, and knows tricks. Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said about him:“Mack is a great walker and walks with a loose leash. He’s responsive to his person and easy to handle.” Mack shares his kennel with a friend who he can usually be found cuddling with. He’s been playful (if a bit awkward) when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit and is looking for a home without small dogs or other small pets. Ask to meet Mack today!!

EMERGNECY PLACEMENT DEADLINE 3PM WEDNESDAY APRIL 17, 2024Name: PANDA Animal ID: A746364Age: 4 yearsWeight: 39 lbs.About: Meet Panda, he is about 4 years old, Chow Chow mix. Panda will need to find placement with a foster or an adopter through PACC before 3pm on Wednesday April 17, 2024.Panda first came to the shelter back in 2021 as part of a hoarding situation, where he was living with numerous other dogs and was under socialized with people. He was fortunate enough to have received some socialization with the help of staff and volunteers and lived in an adoptive home for well over a year. He is still a little nervous with handling, but in the shelter, he has not shown any potential to fear bite. Panda deserves a second chance at life. He has lived a rough life this far and is looking to find a permanent home to live out his days living his best life. In his previous home, Panda did display some reactivity to people while on the leash and did have an undocumented bite to the husband in the home. Panda would like to meet every member in the household before going home. Once Panda is comfortable with his people, he can be protective so he will need to be kept in a crate or separate room when visitors enter the home. Panda does well with other dogs and might do better in a home with another dog. If you are interested in meeting Panda please come to PACC and ask to meet him.

Story
Loki is one of several dogs who were surrendered to PACC as a group. They are very underweight, very shy, and VERY sweet. These dogs have spent their lives predominately outdoors, and need help with socialization and feeling safe and loved in a home. Mostly, they need TLC- a soft bed and reliable meals to help them bulk up. Loki isn`t familiar with normal doggy things like walking on a leash, so needs a patient family who will teach him how to `dog` and who will keep him safe and secure as he adjusts. Loki shares his kennel with another PACC pup, and generally kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup, he can be assertive for space so its recommended you bring your pup in to meet him. He has lived with children but can be possesive of food/toys so we recommend older kids. He has a medical condition called Megaesophagus which means he will need to be fed upright for his meals. If you can help a sweet dog who has had a rough start to life, ask about Loki today!

Story
Lizzi and Loki are a bonded pair of senior friends who are looking for a home together. These two gentle seniors need to find a soft place to land- the shelter is no place for senior pets!! Lizzi and Loki were brought to PACC by an animal protection officer. The PACC clinic is taking great care of them as they seem to have not had any vet care in quite some time. Loki has valley fever and Lizzi has some old lady aches and pains, so they need a family committed to their long-term care. While Lizzi and Loki are on the shy side, they are very tolerant of handling and appreciate spending quiet time with their volunteer friends. Lizzi enjoys gentle pets and scratches, and Loki is learning about those too. Lizzi and Loki are both vulnerable due to their age and condition, and were unsure about other dogs during their playgroup evaluations. They take comfort from one another, but need to meet any other resident dogs prior to heading home. Lizzi and Loki will do best in a calm home with a patient and understanding family who can help them gain confidence and who will make sure they get the medical care they need. Remember, adopting pals may actually mean less work than adopting a single pet- they keep each other entertained, they give each other stability and comfort, they adjust more quickly to new situations, and they provide twice the amount of love. Ask about these sweet seniors today!
