Meet Cooby 🐾Looking for a gentle soul to share your quiet world? Cooby might be your perfect match.Cooby is a sweet, shy boy whose past is a bit of a mystery. He came to us severely malnourished and understandably anxious, but he's been making slow and steady progress with the help of a specialized feeding plan and anxiety medication.Cooby is looking for a calm, patient home where he can take his time to feel safe and loved. He may need to meet potential adopters a few times before he's ready to take the next step - and that's okay. Trust takes time, and Cooby is worth the wait. He's still a bit nervous in busy or loud environments, so a quiet home with a secure, fenced yard would be ideal. Right now, he's considered a flight risk, so safety is a top priority. If you think you could be the steady, reassuring presence Cooby needs, we'd love to introduce you. Please stop by or call us to schedule a meet and greet. Our visiting hours are from 1-4 PM daily.Let's help Cooby find the peace and love he deserves. 💙 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 26.5 Age: 2yrs 2mths 0wks

My name is Sorme, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Shepard mix (possibly Indian Pariah/German Shepherd mix)Age: 2 1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 26 kgHeight: 20 inches Country of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Sweet, obedient, great with kids and dogs, fast learner A little about me:Hello, my name is Sorme! I’m a sunshine soul with big ears and a bigger heart! I love cuddles, treats, and learning new things that make you smile. I was found as a tiny, frightened puppy wandering the streets of the Middle East—hungry, alone, and unsure of the world around me. I didn’t know what love felt like… until kind humans took me in, gave me warmth, safety, and the care I desperately needed. Now, I’m ready to share all the love I’ve been saving up with my forever family. I’m very friendly, obedient, and a fast learner. I love people and other dogs, especially kids who like to play! I’m eager to please and always up for a game or a cuddle. My heart is full of trust and joy—I just need a loving home to give it to. I'd do well in a home that enjoys companionship and is looking for a smart, affectionate dog. If you have other pups or kids, I’ll fit right in. I haven’t met cats yet, so I’m not sure about them, but I’m open to new friends!More About Me: Energy Level: Moderate to High —I love walks, playtime, and learning tricks, but I’m also happy to relax near you after a good day. I Get Along With: Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends. Cats: Unknown – I haven’t met any yet. Kids: Unknown – Yes! Fears: None observed, but please be patient as I adjust to my new environment. I promise to blossom with your love. Training: Leash skills: Yes, but please continue to guide me in my new home.House trained: Yes but please continue to guide me in my new home. Health Notes:I am healthy and ready to go!I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is 800 CAD plus applicable taxes. Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2365208##

Story
Good day!  My name is Marlin (aka Martin) and I'd love to tell you a bit about me!   Breed: German Shepherd / CannanAge: 8 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 56 lbs / 25 kgHeight: TBDCountry of origin: Israel I'm a handsome, older guy (born in May 2017) and I'm a mix of german shepherd/canaan breeds.  I've never lived in a proper stable home environment; I really hope to find one.  I'm quite an energetic dog and I love to be outdoors.  I can be somewhat selective with the dog friends I make, and while I can play nicely with them, I think I'd prefer to be the only resident dog in my forever home.  I need a fair amount of exercise, so will be most pleased with a very active family. As you can see, I am a very smiley, happy boy.  https://youtu.be/Ua0EzZr-qNcAfter being confiscated from a neglectful home, I went to a local shelter when I was around 1 year old, and I have been there ever since.  It is about time I find a home!  Having never received consistent, dedicated training from humans, I need a fairly experienced handler/owner who knows about & has experience with training. Since I'm happiest outdoors, having a yard would be good!  This will help me acclimate to living inside.  I hope you are willing to give me time to understand a house is a great place to be.I have had basic training: leash walking with a halti, heel, sit, down, bed/place, in addition to exposure to other dogs. Continued training and review of what I know would be good. I'm a smart pupper, and can learn tricks too https://youtu.be/Lr8EJ2Zkc1I. Here I am calm at the vet's office: https://youtu.be/udM_Cc-MOgk. Energy Level: high Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: yes, basic training commands and leash walkingLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No, as I live in a shelter environment. Please be prepared to help me learn! My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Shannon at  shannonmatley1@yahoo.com or  512-581-2334 for more information or to adopt. Adoption available to Pacific NW residents too. Hi everyone, I am the lovable Lucky and here's some information nabout me: Age: 1 yearBreed: German Shepherd/Husky mixWeight: 42 lbsHeight (ground to shoulder): 24 inchesAge: 4 yearsGender: Female My rescue story starts in Texas, where I was dumped from a pickup truck on a country road. I ran after the truck to catch up with my people, but I couldn't catch up, so I stayed on the road, not knowing what to do next. The experience had me so frantic, I was running back and forth. I just couldn't believe what had happened to me. Fortunately a lovely lady witnessed this and came to my rescue and took me to her house. She also took me to the vet to get me fully vaccinated, spayed and tested for heartworm (fortunately negative). I was on my best behaviour at the vet and even did well with the car ride. I love to run with the big dogs and adore all people, including older kids. Very small kids and cats would not be good combinations, just because I would be too energetic for them or might want to chase cats - seems like a fun game! I am also house and kennel trained and walk well on leash. My foster has been teaching me commands like 'sit' using food, which is a great motivator for me. As a clever girl, I tend to get a bit bored easily, so I will adore a household with people I can interact with. My current foster says that I bring a great deal of joy to their family and I know that I will be the best dog ever for my new adopted family. Will you be the one? An adoption fee of $100 applies. Story
Greetings, my foster mom calls me Nellie even though I have previously been listed on my bio page as Nola. My foster mom and the family think I am the most marvelous dog in the world! (Well, that's maybe a bit of an exaggeration but let's just say they think I'm a really great dog.) Below are some details about me:Breed: German Shepard mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 23 kgHeight: 54 cmCountry of origin: localHighlights: affectionate, well-mannered, loyal, athletic, clever, eager to please Jumpin jiminy and hoooooowlalujah. My turn has come to find a loving family of my own.Found chained to a male German Malinois in a very dirty and nasty place, so I could have puppies to sell, my owners had no regard for me as a living soul. Because I was young and couldn't get pregnant, I was beaten and very scared. I was put up for sale, so my rescuers bought me to save my life.I am a girl full of life and I am both happy and playful, not to mention social.Being the clever and eager to please girl, I will be easily trainable. The fact I love food helps. lol. You'll find me funny, as well as affectionate. I am well-mannered and have an incredibly agreeable personality. My temperament is one of loyalty and cuddliness. Caresses are like, my thing. I enjoy following my person around to get lots of love and attention.Due to my past situation, I do currently startle somewhat easily at loud noises or voices. Given a consistent & loving environment to nurture me along, these reactions should diminish over time. I just need time to learn I am safe now. I also do not like being kept in small spaces, like a crate. I get depressed being in one.The fact I am curious and loving adds to my charm and provides for a nice disposition. I get along fine with all other dogs and if anyone acts aggressively, I just move away. https://youtube.com/shorts/iyf7oqSTrtM?feature=share. I'm can be great with older kids but I have some fears of small moving humans so it's best if I'm not in a home with young children. Haven't been around meowies but when I pass by one on walks I'm quite calm and I just look at them. If they were to run away from me, there is a likelihood that I will chase them although I've never been known to attack any being. I also love to run while I'm on leash whenever I see rabbits or squirrels but again, I'm not really a hunter so it's likely just the game of chase that interests me. That being said, I might not be a good fit in a home with a pet rabbit.Oh, I am an energetic dog too, so if you are into hiking and dog sports, I'm right there ready to take on the challenge to learn. I've not been around water enough to know whether I like being in water. The one occasion that I was at the beach, I waded into the water but it was clearly not my favourite activity. Story
Hello sweet world. I'm Ashe and here is info about me:Breed: Labrador / German Shepherd MixAge: 5 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 56 lbsHeight 24 inchesHighlights:Loyal, Intelligent, Affectionate, Calm, Independent You'll find me a curious pupper, who just likes to see what is going on. Should make training easier, as I want to know what you want from me.Once loved, then dumped, I found myself abandoned by the only family I had ever known. Abandoned for not meeting the standards of being a purebred German Shepherd they thought I was. Isn't that ridiculous? My journey led me to a busy highway here in Lebanon. Shops on the side of the highway saw me and feared for my safety and the safety of the cars getting into an accident. So my rescuers received an urgent call to come get me. They immediately came and rescued me, having to navigate the chaos of the highway to collect me.With gentle hands and soothing words, they picked me up, holding me in their arms. Such a relief that was. As they took me away to safety, my heart was filled with gratitude for the second chance I'd been given. In the days that followed, I found peace in their care. Despite the feelings of abandonment, I began to trust once more, my trust slowly restored with each passing day.I am good with other dogs. Running and playing is a blast. It may be possible I have quite mild hip displaysia or a tad of arthritis, nothing real evident. It doesn't slow me down at all, as you can see in my videos. I play with other dogs well: https://youtube.com/shorts/b3-jv3AmsUU?si=2x5t-LEfzlf2NX14. I'm a friendly guy. Although I can be playful, I can also be calm. So chilling at home is fine by me too. Never had experience with kitty-kind, so unsure of living with one. Likewise, kids have not yet been in my repertoire, though my calmness likely would lend me to doing fine with them.
