Story
Hello everyone, I just updated my profile with videos playing with kids, cats and rabbit. Hi there! My name is PHOENIX (Happy) and here is some info about me:Breed: German ShepardAge: 3years (22/03/2021)Gender: female Weight: 66 lbsHeight: 22-1/2 inches I had been in a car accident and my leg was infected. Sadly, they could not save my leg. So now I am a tripaw. My rescuers are having an artificial leg made for me. Gentle and playful is what you will find with me. I still get around pretty good too. In fact, I am a fairly active pup. I get along well with dogs of all sizes, including small ones and even cats (I find them curious.) I find them amusing, but not necessarily all that interesting. I am smart & easily trainable, hey I'm a German Shepard, would you expect anything less? I'm a sweet girl with a faithful and loyal nature. I know you are ready for an awesome girl like me. Just waiting for your application. I'm good with kids, cats and even a rabbit. Please see my videos with cats and rabbits and kids https://youtu.be/f6VNmWQOHeU https://youtu.be/4prrQ37wQ5g https://youtu.be/dg5th_XIoNA Another vid of me: https://youtu.be/YIor50YdbTs. Energy Level: moderate to moderate-high Get along with:Dogs, yesCats, yesKids, yes Prey drive: low to low-moderate Fears: unknown, not observed Training: noneLeash skills, minimum. Will need continued patient training.House trained, no. Please be prepared to help me learn! Health notes: I am a tripaw.I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Due to ongoing limits on Vancouver flights yet, additional fees will apply if flying from another city. Unaccompanied Cargo costs within Canada: $275-$500 per dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. I will be on the first available flight, as I need to leave the Middle East as soon as possible. If a flight directly to Vancouver is not found quickly after I've found a family, the extra cost for cargo to Vancouver will not be optional.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  ##1213054##

Story
Good day. My name is MARLIN (Martin) and here is a little info about me:Breed: German Shepard/Canaan dog mixAge: 6 years 8 monthsGender: MaleWeight: 56 lbsHeight: 60 cmHighlight(s): quite energetic, know basic commands, smart, happy I need a fair amount of exercise, so will be most pleased with a very active family. As you can see, I am a very smiley, happy boy. After being confiscated from a neglectful home, I went to a local shelter. I was around 1 year old then. I have been at the shelter since. It is time I find a home. I need a fairly experienced home that knows about & has experience with training.Okay, so I can be a bit choosy about who my friends are. Probably best if I am an only dog in the home. I certainly can intro to other dogs. If I like them, we'll get along fine https://youtu.be/Ua0EzZr-qNc.Since I have never lived in a home before, having a yard would be good, so I can acclimate to living inside better, by having plenty of outdoor time, where I feel most comfortable right now. I hope you are willing to give me time to understand a house is a great place to be.I have had basic training: leash walking with a halti, heel, sit, down, bed/place, in addition to exposure to other dogs. Continued training and review of what I know would be good. I'm a smart pupper, so could learn tricks too https://youtu.be/Lr8EJ2Zkc1I. Here I am calm at the vet's office: https://youtu.be/udM_Cc-MOgk. Energy Level: high I get along with:Dogs: Some. I get along with some of the other shelter dogs, but not all.Cats: NoChildren: Yes Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: yes, basic training commands and leash walkingLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No, as I live in a shelter environ. Please be prepared to help me learn! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1570722##

Special, right?Found in front of my rescuer’s house in the Middle East about July of 2022, I was super sick. So much so that I couldn’t walk or stand up. My lovely rescuer took me home and started caring for me.The original name my rescuer gave me in my language means 'hope', as she could only hope for my survival. Now, I am a healthy, happy boy.I am a smart boy, who listens well, so I should learn quickly. I already know how to sit and what no means. I am also happy to be your confidant. Hoping that includes hugs and kisses. If I am an only dog or one of a multi-dog household, it's all good to me. My name is BARBIE and here is a little info about me:Breed: Shepherd/Husky mixAge: 2 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 30 kgHeight: 55 cmHighlight(s): friendly, playful, happy, personable Hi y’all! My name is Barbie, and I am simply a doll! Just look at my gorgeous dual- colored eyes.Being in the shelter for about four months, I must tell you, I do not like it here. Having made a lot of friends, it’s fine, but I would much rather be on a comfy couch, snuggling with my forever person. I am very friendly with both people and dogs! I’m always smiling and playing.I had a rough start in life. I had puppies about four months ago, but they were stolen from me when they were around a month old. I was depressed for a very long time. I seem to have forgotten my past right now. But I sometimes have my sad days.Although I am not yet housetrained, us shelter dogs tend to learn quickly.Anyway, I can’t wait to meet you to show you my great personality, despite my sad past. I hope to become a Canadian citizen very soon. Don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out with my friends at the shelter, but I would much rather have a human companion to cozy up to. I'd really like a home who can understand where I'm at and willing to ease me along into a real Canadian life. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW IN THE POSTING TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE DOG. Please send us a private message or an email if you have serious inquiries and not in comments. Email: woofywishes@gmail.com TORBO (TRIPOD) was rescued from the Middle East and now he is in Vancouver BC and he's looking for his forever home. It is ideal for Torbo to go to a home where he can have a doggie sibling.Torbo - Shepherd mix - 19 kg - 1.5 yr old - Male - Neutered - Good with dogs - Not cat tested, but he will be ok with proper intro - Good with people of all ages - Crate trained - House trained - Playful & loving - Barks to give warning - Not a flight risk - No aggression - Good on leash - Healthy - He was found with a severed leg when he was a puppy on the street, likely for witchcraft purposes.Torbo is the sweetest friendliest and happiest dog ever. His tail is ALWAYS wagging. He is such a people lover! Going on walks he wants everyone to pet him, and he goes up to everyone to say hi on walks, he gets offended if people don’t want to pet him. He loves attention and human kisses. Turbo is also a super well-balanced dog - he can be super playful and also be super chill and calm. He doesn’t bark much, does not have a huge prey drive, able to stay alone for a bit in a crate with a chew toy. He is perfectly potty trained, not a single accident in the house. He sleeps the whole night in his crate with no waking up. He has medium energy and his 3 legs can tire after a walk, so he isn’t exactly the ideal rough terrain hiking buddy. Story
How do you do? My name is NILA and here is a little info about me:Breed: German Shepard mixAge: 1 yrGender: femaleWeight: 32 kgHeight: 65 cmHighlight(s): curious, lovable, intelligent, active My rescuer describes me as "very lovable, intelligent and very trainable." I'm a big bundle of love waiting for your open arms.My rescuer found me in a sack when I was a puppy. Sadly this happens a lot in my Middle East country. Since I loved to eat from the very beginning, I quickly became friends. While generally good with male dogs and small breeds https://youtu.be/djuikRvSm-w , I am not friendly with some female dogs my own size. For this reason, it is better to be adopted in a family that does not have another dog or does not have another female dog, because can be very jealous and want pets all to myself.I have a good relationship with children. It is better if the children are older (8 yrs+), because I am very playful and run here and there, which could result in inadvertently bumping into a smaller child and knocking them down. Await videos with kid. Given my initial reaction to a cat, I could probably learn to live with one.  https://youtu.be/dCJHzu7XR_E.I love playing with a ball. Toys that can handle a tough chewer would be best.My genetic predisposition is to keep watch and bark at strangers. Not aggression, just alerting. Being very loyal to my owner, if someone approaches and I feel the stranger is dangerous, I will bark at them. With time and proper training, I will learn to differentiate what is normal in my new environment and adhere to commands. If I don't see my owner for a while, I will run towards them, wag my tail and start whining and growling (just my way of talking.) It's really rather cute.I need a harness for walks, as I hate neck collars and don't like anyone to hold my neck at all.I really enjoy car rides, but don't like being tied in. You may need to hug me to get me in the car at first. Of course, being a foodie, you may be able to entice me pretty easy. I'd do best in a home with a yard, but you should ensure the fence or hedge heights & spacings are such I won't jump over or slide through, as I am also quite the curious girl. Story
Hi hi!! My name is Iris and here's my story: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: German shepherd/Lab mix (best guess!) Age: 1 year 3 months approx.  Gender: Female Weight: 37lbs (17 kg) Height (to shoulders): 36cm  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - When I was just a wee, wee puppy (besides these ears - these were never wee!) I was found narrowly avoiding cars on one of the busiest avenues of Guadalajara. My rescuers scooped me up just in time and took me in. It was clear I was a street dawg - used to surviving in the toughest of environments. Only, I'm not so tough after all! You see I quite like the company of hoomans, a soft bed, and good food. Yeah, I think I could get used to this! Now I'm looking for my furever family so we can continue living the good life together! Whaddya say? TEMPERAMENT - Besides loving the dolce vita I also looove spending my time with hoomans and other doggos doing fun things (EXCEPT baths! Who invented those?!). Really, I'm just a super sociable pup who's happy to be included in your fun activities and allll the games of fetch. I'm still a puppy so I have some extra energy to burn off but I can be relatively calm in between all the zoomies. I'm also still gaining my confidence, I can be a bit shy when I'm in a new environment (but I blossom with lots of love and patience).  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - High  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes I have been tested with older children and do well with them :) Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs as you can see here.  Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am doing well with my leash skills, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – Not yet.  Car rides – I do pretty well in the car! Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##1788553##

Meet Star! Available for Adoption or Foster to Adopt! Positives: Star is a vibrant bundle of energy, always ready to brighten your day with her infectious enthusiasm and eager-to-please attitude. With her sparkling personality, she forms strong bonds with both dogs and humans alike, making her a beloved companion for any adventure. Star has already mastered some basic training and is familiar with simple commands, showcasing her intelligence and willingness to learn. Whether you're hitting the trails for outdoor activities or simply snuggling up on the couch in the evenings, Star is always ready to join in on the fun. We believe she would thrive in a home with another large breed dog, enjoying the company and companionship they provide. Areas Needing Support: Despite her sweet nature, Star's stocky build and puppy energy can sometimes be overwhelming for inexperienced owners, especially in rough play situations. For this reason, we recommend a home without young children or with older children who are dog-savvy. Star has shown some resource-guarding tendencies, particularly around food, so she will need patient and consistent training to address this behavior. Additionally, she is a strong puller on the leash and will require someone experienced in leash training to correct this habit. As she adjusts to her new home and environment, Star will need time to decompress and settle in, making her the perfect match for an experienced owner who understands her needs and is dedicated to helping her thrive. Star is ready to shine bright in a loving forever home where she can continue to blossom and thrive. If you're ready to welcome this radiant star into your life, don't hesitate to reach out. Bodie enjoys going for walks and would make an excellent outdoor partner for someone seeking a furry companion to accompany them on adventures. Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Kuku🩵 On a cold winter night, Danpoong gave birth to 5 puppies at Korean city shelter. She and her pups got severe scabies prompting urgent rescue to Adogs center. Their mother Danpoong took great care of her puppies, and the pups were chubby and healthy. His round eyes and long pointy ears are so lovely! He's such a cute little puppy with an adorable round mouth 😍 *Separation anxiety: None! *Potty-training: Prefers outdoor potty, 60% aim on pad. He may make mistakes in a new environment! 💟 Personality / Characteristics *Keywords: #gentle, #lovepeople, #timid *Energy Level (1~10): Lv. 6 *He is a very social, gentle pup.😊 Can be timid but adapts to new environment pretty quickly! Can greet one dog at a time slowly but is still slightly scared to visit dog café where he will see many dogs. *Kuku really loves people and greets them by giving kisses! His tail wags like a helicopter! May take some time to adapt to a new person he met for a first time. *Kuku turned to be more outgoing recently! In familiar places, he hops and jumps around. *Is still scared of unfamiliar places, he is getting used to new foster home. Once he becomes more familiar, he becomes lively right away! *Is fearful of doorbell sounds or strange sounds. This should get better through desensitization training! *He used to nibble from teething but got all better through training! *When Kuku looks at the mirror trying to dual with his self-reflection or hearing a sudden noise, he can bark a little bit but doesn’t bark too much. *Due to his weekly medicated bath, Kuku doesn’t prefer bathing….😢He is fearful of nail clipping too. When his fear level is at its peak he can become aggressive. *He is a good boy with good mannered walking! Of course, he doesn’t pull his leash and can stop and wait when his walker stops or waits at a road signal. He may get tense from fear when a car or person goes by. *He has a little carsickness, especially from long car rides. *Can have some shedding! *Mastered Commands: "Sit, paw, lie down, nose" He can learn quickly by teaching him just once👍 *Favorites: Plush puppy toys, squeaky toys, trests, people, wood branch

Story
Name: Annie OakleyBreed: German Shepherd mixAge: 4 yrsGender: feWgt/Hgt: 55 lbs / 22 inches Highlights: playful, tripaw, joyful, very affectionate, independent, low exercise needs - no walking needed Energy level: low Relations: great with dogs once comfortable with them, good with kids, not good with cats  Hi everyone, my name is Annie Oakley. I am a beautiful and very happy girl, but that hasn't always been true for me. I used to live in the Middle East where at the very tender age of eight months I became pregnant. I was much too young to become a mother and all my puppies died. In addition my rear leg had been badly damaged, probably from being hit by a car. In the country I come from, dogs are considered vermin and people often deliberately hit us with their cars in an attempt to kill us. The wounds became badly infected and I was in terrible pain by the time I was finally rescued. The vet I was taken to wasn't able to save my leg and it had to be amputated. Despite this I am very mobile and can easily climb stairs. I can't go on long hikes but normal length walks are perfect for me.  I am a very loving and affectionate girl who has a real love of life. I enjoy the company of other dogs, once I trust them and currently live happily with several dogs of all sizes. However, it takes me a few visits for me to feel safe with other dogs. So it is difficult for a potential adopter to take the time I need to get me familiar with their dog. So a home without another dog is best for me. I am happy being the only dog in the home as my true love is people. I have the cutest habit of splaying my front legs out wide when I want you to play with me. And if you pet me and stop and I want some more, I will wrap my front legs around yours to trap you and keep you with me. Adorable, right?  I am a really easy dog to care for, and to love. I very much enjoy being outside so a fenced yard is important to me. In fact, I don't need or want to go on walks. Because of my missing rear leg, I find walking too strenuous and much prefer hanging out with my person inside the home or outside in the yard. A covered deck for me to hang out on, watching birds and squirrels, is essential for me. While I am a joyful soul, I am not at all hyper or high energy. At home, I am very calm and relaxed. My favourite thing to do is lie on my bed, chewing on a marrow bone or a chew stick. There is no way you could be unhappy with me around.  I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $600 plus applicable taxes* Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##951485##

Story
Hi everybody, I am the super-handsome and super smart (or so they tell me) Storm and here's a bit of information about me:Breed: Belgian MalinoisAge: 6 yrsGender: MaleWeight: about 60-65 Lb.Height: about 25 in.Highlights: loves carrots, smart, active, loves people company, loyal Nooo, I'm not a rabbit, but one thing I really love is carrots. Yup... crunchy munchy. Baby photo with carrot, for effect. So please keep a bag around for me. At the trainer I eat a raw diet, but I'm just as happy eating kibble.I am an active dog and need enough exercise to tire me out, but when I am calm, I love to be in people's company and would love to be part of a family. My favorite activity after dinner is to lay on top of my people. I like playing with other dogs and it is so much fun! Smaller dogs and female dogs are my best friends, but I'm not too sure about German Shepherds.A few months ago, I was attacked by two Golden Retrievers that were bigger than me, but I'm totally good with the smaller Golden Retriever that's at the trainer's. I like girl dogs the best. Wink. I'm okay with bigger dogs, but don't like when they're too pushy. If I'm outside, I'll run away from them.Currently I am receiving some training, just to help me understand boundaries better, especially when it comes to taking care of and protecting the people I love. For example, I didn't realize that I didn't have to guard my mom's knitting with my life, and especially not from her! Oops. After all, protection is what my kind of breed does so well!I would do well in a calm environment where there's fun activities to do for my brain. I could do search-and-rescue and hide-and-seek games. My trainer says that I have already improved much within only a week and I have calmed down significantly. Turns out I just needed to learn what the word "no" means, so a firm but kind approach is what works best for me. I am very energetic so I'll pull if you let me. When I do pull, it's important you stop me right away. I can walk slower but you have to make sure to walk slowly with me. I love a lot of exercise and really like to learn tricks and commands. I'm a fast learner with the right teacher.Regardless, I am devoted and committed to humans and I just need some patience from my new owner as I learn what you expect from me and settle into my new behaviors. My previous family said I'm good being left at home alone. But I'm not good being put in a room and you're still home because then I'll try to get out to be beside you. I will bark and scratch to try to get out to be with you. If you ever need to go anywhere that requires a muzzle, I'm already trained to use one, no prob. Big smile. Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: I can startle if I'm sleeping on the floor beside you and you get up too quickly and loudly. My inner ears are very sensitive, so please clean them gently (I don't like sharp fingernails). Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: currently in training program through Arfarfbarkbark.Leash skills: in progress. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. I can hold over night or when you are out. Health notes:I will be getting neutered on Apr 18th. I am vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
