Adoption fee is FULLY WAIVED thanks to an anonymous donor!! Free, non-binding application must be submitted to secure an appointment at www.gofar.dog under "Adopt”!Hi I'm Troy! I am a well-behaved, playful senior guy looking for a home to live out my Golden Years. I'm a gorgeous shepherd estimated at 9 years old. They say I'm a "senior," but I have a lot of spunk and a lot of love to give. I absolutely LOVE playing with toys and I have been a good boy with other dogs at the rescue! However, I am not a fan of cats. I landed at a county shelter in ruff condition, but thankfully Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue pulled me out of that scary place and gave me the medical and general care I needed to be ready to find a new home. My adoption fee has been fully waived thanks to a generous sponsor! I am up to date on my vaccines, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped, and ready to find my new home! If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an application at www.gofar.dog under Adopt. If you encounter any issues with our website, please email adoptions@gofar.dog.If you have questions, email my rescue at adoptions@gofar.dog. If you'd like to experience all the love I have, and want to make me part of your family, please complete the adoption application by pasting this link into your browser: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sm2546&method=online_form_html&formid=21

Story
URGENT – GERMAN SHEPHERD NEEDS RESCUE THIS WEEK Hit by a Car • 7 Years Old • 80 lbs • Scheduled for Euthanasia The Sarasota Shelter reached out for help for a very sweet, gentle German Shepherd who is out of time. He was originally purchased from Petland, and based on his temperament, he is likely very good with other dogs. This poor boy was hit by a car and needs medical care — but the shelter does not have the resources to treat him. His owner has abandoned him and is not responding, leaving him with no one to speak up for him. Because the shelter cannot provide the medical support he needs, he is scheduled to be euthanized this week unless a rescue or adopter steps forward. It is heartbreaking to see such a beautiful, loving dog face death simply because he needs help. He Deserves a Chance. He is approximately 7 years old and around 80 lbs, with a gentle, trusting demeanor despite everything he has been through. PLEASE HELP SAVE HIS LIFE If you can rescue, adopt, foster, or assist with his medical care, please contact us immediately. 📩 pets@findahomegiveahome.com 📱

Story
Meet Lala – A Sweet Senior Girl Looking for Love Lala is a 13-year-old gentle soul who just wants a soft place to land and someone to love her. She was rescued from a shelter after living through neglect and hardship—emaciated and in poor condition—but with care and compassion, she has made an incredible recovery and is now a happy, affectionate girl. Sadly, her current adopter, an 85-year-old gentleman, can no longer care for her, and Lala needs a new home where she can continue to feel safe, cherished, and cared for. About Lala Age: 13 years Weight: Approximately 65 lbs Good with dogs and cats Loving, calm, and enjoys snuggling Likes gentle walks and being close to her person She loves her donut bed – it’s her happy place! Health Lala receives a monthly arthritis shot which helps her stay comfortable Besides that, she is doing very well for her age and just needs regular love and attention Her Ideal Home Lala would thrive in a peaceful environment with someone who has time to spend with her—someone who understands the beauty of giving a senior dog the golden years they deserve. She doesn’t ask for much… just love, gentle walks, and companionship. A Second Chance at a Happy Ending Lala has been through so much in her life, but she still gives love freely. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior girl who will adore you, please consider giving Lala her forever home. Contact us to learn more or to meet Lala. She is ready to love you with all her heart.

Story
Meet Dixie – a just turned 5 year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart of gold. After my dad died, we decided to take her in. She’s healthy and even had a year of professional dog training. Dixie is wonderful with our male dog but our female will not accept Dixie into our family and Dixie doesn't like her either. We have tried everything to make it work. Dixie loves going on walks, chasing lizards, car rides, camping, going to the park & snuggling. She truly is an amazing, sensitive and smart dog who needs a loving home, preferably, without other dominant dogs. She's already been through so much. PLEASE—she deserves a safe home and not the shelter. She would make a very loyal companion and she is still very trainable. She has so much love to give. There has to be someone out there willing to give her a chance?

Meet Ringo! 🐾💛 Ringo is a handsome 10-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as sweet as can be. This very nice boy is calm, gentle, and ready to spend his golden years surrounded by love and comfort. At this stage in life, Ringo isn’t looking for adventure — he’s looking for cozy naps, peaceful walks, and kind people to share his days with. Because he’s a senior, Ringo qualifies for our Silver Paws VIP Program, which helps make adopting older pets even easier. He’s the kind of dog who will be forever grateful for a soft bed, a caring hand, and a family who sees the treasure he truly is. If you’ve been thinking about opening your heart to a senior sweetheart, Ringo is patiently waiting to meet you. 🏡💖 I qualify for the Silver Paws VIP Program. Do you? If you're 65 or older, we could be the perfect match! As part of this special program, Gulf Coast Humane Society waives the adoption fee and provides free veterinary care through our wellness clinic. It’s our way of supporting lifelong companionship. Visit gulfcoasthumanesociety.org/silver-paws-vip to learn more.

Story
🐾 Meet Kita – Sweet, Smart & Ready for Her Forever Home! 🐾 Kita is a beautiful, affectionate girl with a big heart and a sharp mind. At approximately 4 years old, she has a great mix of youthful energy and maturity. She absolutely adores people and is loving with children of all ages. Kita is currently living in a home with another dog, but unfortunately, they don’t get along. As a result, she spends much of her time in a crate and isn’t able to get the exercise and enrichment she needs. It breaks our hearts, but we know she deserves a better fit—one where she can truly thrive. ✅ Approximately 4 years old ✅ Spayed and microchipped ✅ Great with kids ✅ House-trained and crate-trained ❌ Needs to be the only dog in the home 🏃‍♀️ Best for an active, experienced owner Kita would flourish in a home without other pets and with someone who can provide her with both physical activity and mental stimulation—she’d love hikes, walks, puzzle toys, and training sessions!
