We found Bear starving, roaming the street a year ago. He is very energetic and listens very well. He is great in the car, with horses, at the beach, doesn't bark or pull toward other dogs when on a leash. He is good with children and loves attention from anyone. He loves to snuggle and is very vocal, although he is quiet inside the house and wont bark, even if my other dogs are sounding the alarm. I have 2 other dogs, Bear is great with the female but my male Blue Heeler mix is very territorial and picking fights with Bear and currently we are keeping them separated. Bear is fearful of him and it would be best if he has a home with lots of space to run and possibly a female dog as a companion, but he would also be a great only dog. We have been trying for over a year to re home him without luck. He does not do well in a crate. He is very smart, learns commands quickly, but gets very anxious when left alone especially during storms. We just want the best life for him.

I am a sweet and gorgeous girl who was transferred here from another shelter because I was on their urgent list. Now, I’ve been given a fresh start and another chance to find my person. I am hoping this is the stop where my story changes for good. I may have had an uncertain journey getting here, but I am so ready for a safe, loving home where I can finally settle in and know that I belong. I should probably mention that I am house-trained and friendly with other dogs! You might notice something special about me right away — one ear stands tall while the other likes to flop! And if my mismatched ears don’t make you smile, I don’t know what will! Ask to meet me — I might just be the girl you’ve been waiting for. This 5-year-old, 65lbs sweet girl is good with other dogs, house-trained, and walks great on the leash.Trini went to the Good Times Dog Bar in Flagler Beach and did great with all the dogs, big and small, and all the people! She LOVED playing in the water, even putting her face in the water and splashing around! Trini is very scared of cars, but with some positive exposure, she has the potential to become comfortable in a car. Currently, for outreach events, we have her get into a crate outside our van, then load the crate with her into the van. She refuses to even come close to the vehicle and does not like to be picked up.

She was picked up as a stray and was sitting in the shelter for over a month. Dora is heartworm positive and we are treating her via the slow kill method. She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Behavior: Dora is a very sweet dog, a little shy when first meeting new people. You can tell she has been through a lot but wants so bad to find a person that will stay in her life. She is not that great around other dogs gets too over excited and will start a fight so we feel she will do best as the only dog in the home. She is Great with Cats, and loves our Resident cat Mango. Dora would be an excellent companion for someone Retired and or just would like a great companion. Dora is quiet, crate trained, great on a leash and car rides.
