Story
Weighs around 57 lbsFrom a dog walking volunteer: `Meet Bendy — The Low-Rider Shepherd Remix You Didn’t Know You Needed Bendy is a 2-year-old, short-legged, brindle German Shepherd mix… and yes, that is quite a combo. Imagine a German Shepherd that decided to stay compact. A shepherd in travel size. A low-rider with serious presence. On leash, Bendy didn’t pull much—which was impressive considering how many smells needed immediate investigation. He wasn’t particularly interested in me or my treats either. His focus? Walk. Sniff. Explore. Log the data. His mission seemed clear: “If I move enough now, maybe I’ll be tired enough to nap peacefully once I’m back in that kennel.”He may look a little chunky (we’ll call it “extra insulation”), but don’t let that fool you—Bendy happily kept up a fast pace and clearly enjoys getting out and moving. The boy can walk.In his kennel, he can be reactive when other dogs pass by—but let’s be fair. Being cooped up with constant noise, smells, movement, and visual chaos would test anyone’s patience. That environment brings out intensity in a lot of dogs. Outside? He was focused on the world, not the drama.Bendy is quirky, sturdy, and full of character. A shepherd brain in a low-riding body is something you don’t see every day—and honestly, it works. If you’re ready for a compact explorer with shepherd energy and short-leg charm, contact the shelter directly with any questions—and go meet Bendy in person.`

Story
Our son is no longer able to take care of his dog and we have to rehome him Hachi is a sweet boy who just turned 4 and has a fair amount of puppy playfulness in him. His makeup is about 35% German shepherd, equal parts American Bully, foxhound and coonhound and 5% Dalmatian. Our son was his 3rd rescue family, so he has lost everything in his life at least twice. As a result, he is food insecure and possessive of items he views as his own. For example, he’s a ball hog at the dog park, he will cram three tennis balls in his mouth … funny to watch. He’s not aggressive possessive, more like he’ll sit by them and whine if you come near - like he’s afraid of losing them. Eventually he loses the need to “guard” the item and life goes on. Hachi is 135 lbs. of muscular dog - he is too strong for me to control on a leash when he lurches for lizards, rabbits etc and at this stage in our life we never wanted another dog. In Hachi’s case at 4 years old he could outlive one or both of us.

Story
Hello everyone, this is Auggie! She is a German shepherd mix and loves to cuddle, play, and go on walks. She is so very sweet and loving. She was just rehomed- however the small dogs that are in her home now can't handle the amount of energy has. She loves to play with other dogs, but she needs a friend that is her size and just as energetic! She needs a home with someone who is willing to give her lots of care and attention (home a lot), and has other animals that have the same high energy to play that she does. The 200 dollar adoption fee includes her brand new kennel, dog food, toys, leash, shampoo/conditioner, and other brand new items that were purchased for her. Hoping to find a home where she can live out her best life being the playful cuddle bug she is!
