Story
Arlo just turned two years old in December 2025. He has lived with our family since a few weeks of age but due to family changes and financial hardship we can no longer care for him. He lives with another dog similar in age and size and two young kids. He does not seem to like cats. He has a very relaxed demeanor and is well behaved. He knows basic commands and will walk on a leash. He is fully potty trained, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and flea preventative every month. Recommend having him meet any other dogs in the home or being the only dog. He is currently around 68 lbs. Any further questions please reach out.

Story
Rosie has been with us since she was a new puppy. She’s clever, sweet-natured and will absolutely be your shadow! She was raised with a bulldog, a coonhound, and several cats, but no young children. She’s very energetic and needs space to run, spin and play. She’s kennel trained, but doesn’t do well for very long periods of time. She loves anything on TV that has animals on it, from horse racing to Fantastic Beasts. The only reason I’m seeking a new home for her is that I’m starting school along with my full-time job, which would make her kennel hours too long for her temperament. She will make the right person a faithful and loving companion!

Story
Lyric is a 7-month-old German Shepherd mix pup with big paws, a bigger heart, and one very ambitious goal: to be a lap dog. At a whopping 54 pounds, he may have already outgrown the official size requirement for the job—but no one’s told him that yet, and he`s not taking feedback at this time. Sweet, affectionate, and full of puppy charm, Lyric loves being close to his people and will happily try to curl himself into your lap like he`s still a tiny baby. He`s growing fast, learning the world, and ready to squeeze his way into a forever home that appreciates a little extra love (and weight) in their cuddles. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who believes laps are a state of mind, Lyric is ready to harmonize with your heart.

Story
I am looking to rehome my full blood German Shepherd. I am unable to keep him due to having to go to a 4 month school. He is a good boy. He knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and cage. He will sit when he comes inside and wait for you to wipe off his paws. He will also wait to eat after you pour his food until you tell him he can eat. He does not try to run out the door when you walk inside or out. He can be very energetic or lazy. He will leave you alone if you just tell him to go lay down. He is potty trained. He does not do well with other dogs. But I never tried socializing him. He is also hesitant of guests entering the home, as he is a guard dog. I got him from the Ark Animal Shelter in Lagrange.

Story
OscarShepherd/ Rotty mix1 yr old76 poundsI was brought to the shelter due to no fault of my own.I am a very strong boy who doesn`t know how to walk on a leash. Hopefully, that will be getting better with consistent training. According to my previous owner, I like to run around, play with toys and balls, hang out with my people.I did find a couple of friends, Tundra and Bogart, who love to play with me! I am a big boy so a nice big yard would be ideal for me.If you love German shepherds, then you`ll love me.I can`t wait to meet you!

Story
🌴STITCH🌴“Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”🐚Stitch is an adorable and handsome 9 month old German Shepherd mix puppy. He and his sister were dumped out in the country. We couldn’t leave them behind so they were trapped and brought into rescue. 🐚Stitch knows no stranger. He is so friendly and everyone is his friend. He greets people with a wigglebut and seeks attention/affection. He loves his chest being scratched!🐚Stitch loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them, big or small. We see no reason why he would have any issues with cats. He is good with kids and all people as long as they go slow until he gets to know them. Stitch is walking well on a leash although sometimes, he likes to plop down to take a break. He also loves water and enjoys laying in kiddie pools to cool off! 🐚 Stitch is crate trained and mostly potty trained. He is still a puppy so taking him out on a consistent schedule is key. 🐚 He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, fully vaccinated for rabies, distemper/parvo/lepto and bordatella, wormed and started on heartworm prevention. If you are interested in being Stitch’s “Ohana”, please visit our website at www.pawsofadamscounty.com and submit an adoption application for this sweet goofy boy! When applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Only complete applications will be considered.
