Story
Meet Banshee — a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd with a BIG heart and even bigger love to give! 🐺 Banshee was surrendered due to a divorce — through no fault of her own. This amazing girl deserves a family who will never cast her aside again and will see her for the loyal, joyful companion she truly is. True to her breed, Banshee has lots of energy and absolutely lives for her adventures! She loves: 🌿 Outside “snifaris” 🚶‍♀️ Long walks 🧠 Sniff & find enrichment games Banshee does great with other dogs and especially loves a good game of tug-of-war. She is also 💯 house-potty trained — a big win! Banshee knows basic commands like sit, paw, and down, but when excitement hits (looking at you, UPS driver with cookies 🍪), all bets are off. She will need a committed adopter willing to invest time in basic obedience training to help her channel that enthusiasm. And yes… she will jump, hug, and kiss you whether you’re ready or not. Banshee is a powerhouse of love with absolutely no shame — she wants ALL the affection and gives it right back tenfold. ✨ If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, active best friend and are ready to put in a little training, Banshee will be your ride-or-die. 📍 Acton, Maine 📩 https://pprorg.com/ 📣 Please share — her forever family is out there, we just need to find them. Adoption fee is $475 If you do not hear from us within 7 days please email passion4petsrescue@gmail.com

Story
Our poor girl Salem is still waiting for a home after 8 long years. Though she can be shy at first, she longs to be someone’s loyal guardian, hiking partner, and best friend. Despite her severe hip dysplasia, she’s very active and LOVES to run. She’s so playful and full of life. Her inner puppy comes out when she gets to play with toys! Salem also loves cooler weather, though she can deal with summer heat by playing in the water. She’s great with other dogs, and loves to play with them! She’s amazing on and off leash. Salem is our special girl and we’d love to see her in a home where she can live comfortably and happily for her forever.

Story
Black Dog and Mystery need a home where their special bond will be accepted with open arms! They are a bonded pair that must stay together! Mystery, as her name implies, baffles us with her odd ways and behaviors. Though she loves our company and spending quality time with us, she doesn’t like physical affection and is terrified in new situations. Black Dog is her rock. They spend every moment together. Black Dog is a lazy guy, though he loves leisurely walks and exploring. Mystery is a bit more active and playful— she LOVES playing fetch! Black Dog does need a healthier diet and exercise balance that is hard to require in a shelter. We are trying though! Though Mystery is odd, she’s such a great dog and will make you laugh! These two have a lot of love to give and are waiting for their home. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Black Dog and Mystery, please email wynnefoa@gmail.com We'd prefer them to be the only dogs in the home just because they share such a strong bond!

Story
Meet Rio!Rio is a smart, active guy who’s ready for a fresh start and a home that can offer consistency, structure, and plenty of positive reinforcement. He already has a great foundation and is eager to keep learning with a family who enjoys training and engagement. This handsome pup knows several cues, including sit, down, paw, other paw, and drop it. He’s a big fan of interactive enrichment and recently showed great focus and appropriate play skills during a snuffle mat session. Rio loves fetch and toys, though his enthusiasm means tougher toys will be his best match -plush toys may not survive for long!Rio can be a bit cautious in new environments and with unfamiliar people, but once he has time to settle in and build trust, his personality really shines. He’s highly food-motivated (cheese is a favorite!) and responds well to positive reinforcement. While he has a strong toy drive that can look intense, no resource guarding has been observed during play.Outdoor time is a highlight for Rio, though he’s still working on his leash manners and may pull or try to dart. Continued leash training and secure handling will be important to help him succeed on walks and adventures.Slow, structured meet-and-greets with other dogs may be possible, but past experiences suggest introductions should be handled thoughtfully. Rio has not yet had a formal dog test and is not a candidate for dog parks or playgroups at this time. Our team will be happy to help guide this process.Because of his energy level, toy drive, and need for stability, Rio is best suited for a home with children 8 years and older. Any kids in the home should be part of the meet-and-greet process so everyone starts off on the right paw. With a consistent routine, clear expectations, and ongoing training, Rio has the potential to be a wonderful companion. He’s looking for a dedicated adopter who’s excited to continue building confidence, skills, and a lifelong bond together.

Story
You won't find a more handsome, intelligent or silly boy than Sidney. He is about 3.5 years old and weighs 84 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
Sometimes it’s hard to understand how the world can fail animals the way it does. How does a stunning pair of 7-month-old, purebred German Shepherd sisters end up wandering as strays in a quiet rural Tennessee town? Yet that’s exactly how Luna’s story began.  Luna is the more shy and observant of the two sisters, but her joyful spirit shines through immediately. At 46 pounds, she already carries herself with a calm, sweetnes that tells you what a great companion she will make a family.   She walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, and rides like a pro in the car. Despite everything she’s been through, Bella remains happy, affectionate, and easy to connect with. She lives peacefully alongside cats and dogs of all sizes and blends into new environments with impressive ease. Luna is not hyper or unruly — she is thoughtful, observant, and ready to learn. With continued confidence-building and positive reinforcement, she will grow into an incredible adult German Shepherd, likely reaching 70–75 pounds.  Luna and her sister Bella were never claimed, and after waiting weeks with no one coming for them, they were released into the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue. We made them a promise — to find them experienced, loving, German Shepherd-savvy homes where they can thrive. A fenced yard is required, as well as adopters committed to gentle guidance, training, and building trust. Luna is a wonderful fresh young life  ready to be molded into a loyal, well-mannered companion.  She and Bella are ready to be home for Christmas — warm beds, loving people, and a future they deserve.       Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting our special. Luna   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 23, 2025, 12:34 am
