Story
IDGSR Welcomes SHASTA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Happy Fall Y'all! My name is Shasta and I'm a 7-8yr old female German Shepherd. I am located near Greeneville TN and will be available for transport. I want to share my back story with you so you get a better understanding of my personality. I was rescued from a hoarding case. I lived my life on a short chain, with no shelter, no adequate food or water. I was strictly used for breeding, had numerous litters of puppies, and wasn't treated with any love or care. When I was being rescued, my former owner hit me on the head with a cast iron skillet!! I have a bump on my head now but the vet tells me it will get better in time. 1. Despite my awful upbringing, I am a nice girl. I've never gotten to experience love, kindness, or even basic needs. The rescue has been wonderful for me to heal and now I'm ready to a forever loving home. 2. I would love to have a fenced in yard to explore in and a comfy bed to rest on. I don't require much because I've never had anything nice, if you can give me a good life, I will be forever grateful. 3. I would do best as an only dog. I had to defend myself for so long that I don't really trust other dogs. I know it's a big ask to be in a single dog household but I know IDGSR will find me one! 4. I truly just want to bond to a loving person. If I can follow you around, go anywhere with you, sit outside in the fall are with you - I will be the happiest girl around. Story
Dodger is being cared for an older woman who rescued him from going into the shelter, but she cannot keep him. He is way too big for her, sometimes pulls on her leash. She does not have a yard for him. He loves everyone but he will lunge at some dogs while walking. His pet sitter takes him to her house where he can run and play with her dogs. He loves cats. He would be good with older kids because of his size. Apx 70 lbs. He is a beauty. Would you love Dodger and give him the home he deserves? Please leave your phone number so Dianna, his rescuer can call you.

IDGSR Welcomes PETRA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Happy Fall Y'all! My name is Petra and I'm a beautiful, sweet 2-4yr old German Shepherd. I'm located near Greeneville TN and available for transport. Here are some fun facts about me & my ideal home! 1. I was rescued from a scary shelter by my wonderful foster mom. I have no idea why I was dumped there but I'm thankful to be with IDGSR waiting to find my forever home. 2. I have a lot of energy and love to play! I would love to have a safe fenced in backyard to run and play in. 3. I would absolutely love to go on adventures! Do you like walking, hiking, running, swimming, or chasing waterfalls? Me too! Let's go on cool trips together, especially this fall! 4. I’m very smart and would really love some obedience training. It’s fun and I get to use my brain. Will you paw-promise to train me to my fullest potential? 5. My ideal home is with someone who has prior German Shepherd experience, no first time GSD owners please. I would do fine with a confident male doggo, no females, I have an alpha personality. If you have kids, it's best they be 12yrs & up! 6. If you are looking for a fun, sweet, energetic, smart and loving companion - I'm your girl! Story
Meet ROXY! 🐾 This adorable German Shepherd mix is looking for a loving forever home! 🏡 ROXY is approx 14 wks old, full of energy, and ready to shower you with puppy love. Her dark eyes are just a window to her little soul, pleading for someone she can call her own. And then you have those big ole ears, how can anyone resist? 💖 Personality: Playful and smart, ROXY is a bit on the shy and timid side. Her foster family is working on her to get her to trust. She hasn’t had the best opportunity yet to learn how loving a family can be. She seems a quick learner and would thrive in a home that would show her time and kindness. And also one that enjoys teaching new tricks or having fun outdoor adventures. ROXY is good with other dogs and ready to be your new best friend! 🏡 Ideal Home: She would love a family that enjoys playtime, has space to roam, and maybe even another doggy sibling to make her feel safe and bond with. If you are for a hiking buddy ROXY is the perfect match. If you’re ready to give ROXY a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Let’s find this sweet pup the forever home they deserve. 🐶💕 Once adopted she will travel via the Rescue Transport to her new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SHELBY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 24th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Shelby is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of February 2024 and on 20th September weighed around 40 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. The shelter noted on 27 August during playgroup: A bit timid initially, but started easing into things and coming out of her shell. She was a bit more people oriented at this time, seeking attention more from the handlers instead of the other dogs. She would start to socialize with the other dogs more once getting accustomed to things. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. SHELBY is available for an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Having been here at the rescue for a few days, this is a very happy boy, he needs to gain some weight and needs a good bath and brushing, but he is so affectionate, extremely playful, he loves to be cuddled, is gentle and is desperate to chase the water when I am cleaning, however, since I use a pressure washer he cannot play - I think he would enjoy the water for sure. The shelter noted the following on 2 September: Housebroken. He's a bit unsure about interacting at first but once he comes around he is very playful. Extremely affectionate,  would run to be pet and falls over to have his belly rubbed. Absolutely loves to chase and chew on the tennis balls.
