Quick Facts Age: 6yrs old Kids: adult home preferred Dogs: fine with a large female or only dog Cats: NO cats Training: could use an obedience refresher 1. My owner recently passed away so I'm looking for a new forever home. My nice neighbors are taking great care of me until my forever people come along. 2. I am the perfect gentleman in the house. I don't get on the furniture, I don't have any accidents, I don't mess up anything - I'm basically a dream! 3. I already know multiple commands! I know sit, down, come, leash walking, leave it, and a few others. It would be good to do an obedience refresher to sharpen my skills & it will help us bond! 4. I'm a little overweight and could stand to lose a few pounds. If you have health goals in 2026, let's reach them together! We can take nice walks in the neighborhood and I'll keep you safe from squirrels and birds. 5. I haven't met a stranger. I'm friendly, loving, and have moderate energy. My previous owner use to have dinner parties and I greeted the guests and never begged for food. 6. I am OBSESSED with my chuck-it ball! I love to play ball! I will bring it back to you, drop it at your feet, and wait patiently for it to be tossed. I hope you're ready to play with me. 7. Story
Like a lazy summer afternoon with a cool breeze, Summer is a gentle senior Shepsky who prefers to take life at her own unhurried pace. She’s a very sweet girl with a dreamy, head-in-the-clouds personality. Summer enjoys lounging in comfy spots and leisurely walks. She has a soft spot for snow and may occasionally surprise you with a howl or two just to show off that husky flair. She’s happy soaking in the simple joys of life and would love a home that appreciates her easygoing nature. She has had positive introductions with respectful children here at the shelter. Any dogs in the home will need to meet Summer at the shelter for a dog-to-dog introduction to ensure a good match. We do not have a history of her living with cats, but she would be willing to meet any felines on a dog’s day out to the home.If you’re looking for a sweet senior who brings mellow, warm vibes with just a hint of husky song, Summer might be the perfect companion to share your days with.

Story
Meet Japan! Japan is a gentle, sweet, and mellow boy who joined us as a puppy from Alabama. Naturally shy at first, he’s been blossoming in foster care and it’s been truly special to watch his confidence grow. Every new experience helps him come a little more out of his shell—and he’s doing great navigating the world at his own thoughtful pace. Japan would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes and boost his confidence. He’ll need a bit of patience and gentle encouragement at first, but the payoff is huge. He’s already doing wonderfully with leash walking and recently impressed everyone at the vet by being an absolute angel during his blood work. At 8 months old and a petite 30 pounds, Japan likely won’t grow much bigger—perfectly sized for adventures and cozy couch time alike. He loves playing with toys, and seeing his playful personality emerge more each day is pure joy. And while he’s learning to trust the world, one thing is already clear: he adores his foster dad and bonds deeply with his people. Japan is looking for a calm, loving home that will celebrate his progress, build his confidence, and let him continue becoming the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. Story
IDGSR Welcomes ARAMIS into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Happy Pawlidays! My name is Aramis and I'm a big handsome 8-10month old male German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. I am located near Greeneville TN and will be available for transport. Quick Facts Age: 8-10months Dogs: good with other large dogs Kids: would do fine with older kids (10+) Cats: NO cats Training: needs standard obedience training 1. My backstory is pretty sad. I was severely neglected by an awful person, kept in deplorable conditions, had very little kind human interaction. Thanks to my wonderful foster mom, I was saved and brought into the safety of IDGSR! 2. Since being rescued, I've made a full recovery and am the happiest, most loyal, and oh so loving big boy. I am grateful for love, affection, tummy rubs, and tasty treats. 3. I get along great with other large breed doggos and would love to have a friend to play with. Even tho I'm a big boy, I'm a gentle player. Anyone up for a game of zoomies?! 4. I am very food & treat motivated! I need to learn some nice manners and obedience commands, will you paw-promise to train me? It will help us bond & prove I'm the bestest boy around. 5. I'm a fun loving, affectionate, goofy, friendly, loyal, and handsome guy. I'd love to snuggle up with you on a cold winter night and watch a movie or help you in the kitchen! 6. If you are looking for a resilient, active, loving, loyal, playful, and friendly new companion - I'm your guy! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY!
