IDGSR Welcomes AZALEA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hiya Friends! My name is Azalea and I'm a beautiful 1yr old female German Shepherd. I am located near Nashville TN and will be available for transport. Quick Facts Age: 1yr old Kids: teenage or adult home preferred Dogs: only dog or large male dog Cats: NO cats Training: needs full obedience training 1. I came to IDGSR with a litter of tiny babies, who have all been adopted. I was living in a really bad situation so I'm super thankful IDGSR rescued us. 2. I'm just a baby myself, only a little over 1yr old. Thankfully, I'll never have puppies again and I'm ready to learn what being a loved dog is all about. 3. Considering my rough start to life, I am a bit behind socially. I need a patient adopter to socialize and train me. I need to build some confidence and learn that the whole world isn't out to get me. 4. I'm a smart girl and catch on quickly. Once I decompress, training should be a breeze! Pro tip: have some cheese, hot dogs, or other tasty treats & I'll do just about anything! 5. I'd love to find my forever person, follow them around, go on adventures, and I DREAM of cuddling! 6. If you are looking for a beautiful, resilient, smart, & loyal new companion - I'm your girl! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! Story
Meet Japan! Japan is a gentle, mellow sweetheart who made his way to us as a puppy from Alabama — and watching him grow in foster care has been something really special. Naturally shy at first, Japan takes in the world thoughtfully. But day by day, he’s gaining confidence. Every new experience helps him open up a little more, and seeing that brave spark build? It’s beautiful. At 10 months old and a perfectly petite 35 pounds, Japan is the ideal size for both outdoor adventures and cozy couch time. He’s been doing wonderfully on leash and recently wowed everyone at the vet by being an absolute angel during blood work — quiet, patient, and so well-mannered. We were proud. 💙 Japan would truly thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help guide him and show him the ropes. A calm canine companion will help him continue blossoming. He’ll need patience and gentle encouragement at first, but the reward is huge — because once he bonds, he bonds deeply. He absolutely adores his foster dad and forms strong, loyal connections with his people. And while he’s still building confidence, his playful side is emerging more every day — especially when toys are involved. Watching him discover joy and let his guard down is pure magic. Japan is looking for a calm, loving home that will celebrate his growth, nurture his confidence, and let him continue becoming the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. If you have a soft spot for the shy ones — the ones who bloom slowly but love deeply — Japan might just be your boy. Apply below to adopt: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TGD/Dog

Story
IDGSR Welcomes HARLEY into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Meet Harley: The Underdog Queen We Can’t Help but Love Listen… we know. Harley is not going to win “Miss German Shepherd USA.” Bless her heart, she looks like someone took a hound dog head, stuck it on a German Shepherd body, shook it, and said “Yep, good enough.” But what Harley lacks in traditional beauty, she makes up for in soul, sweetness, and the kind of charm that grows on you faster than you expect. Harley is a 6–7 year old German Shepherd–ish mix who has been patiently waiting for her person… and waiting… and waiting. She’s starting to suspect she showed up to the wrong audition. We promised we’d help her out. Here’s what you get when you adopt Harley: 1. A friend to all dogs – she’s the type who shows up at the dog park and instantly makes a friend group. 2. Friendly and gentle – she genuinely loves people, even if she gives them a “don’t judge my face, please” look first. 3. Talented performer – she will sit up pretty (and trust us, it’s adorable) for treats, snacks, and as many ear scratches as you’re willing to hand out. 4. A certified sweetheart – she just wants someone to love her, quirks, mismatched parts, and all. Harley may not be a supermodel, but she’s the dog version of that coworker who isn’t a looker but is everyone’s absolute favorite person. She’s loyal, hilarious without trying, and has a heart ten times bigger than her head (and her head is… substantial). If you’ve ever rooted for the underdog—or if you just want a companion who will love you unconditionally and make you laugh every day—Harley is your girl. Give this uniquely-built, tragically-cute sweetheart the chance she’s been waiting way too long for. **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY!
