Story
GSD/Husky/Lab/Catahoula mixFour year old Dexter W. is a mixture of Labrador, GSD, Husky and Catahoula. His former owner’s parents have recently taken him in and he is just too much dog for them. They describe him as “a fun, smart and energetic companion. He loves to be near us and is a loyal best friend who loves to play.”  They believe he would be best with a family with older children or a family of young adults because of his energy level.  He has never been around cats. Please include your phone number if you would like to hear more about Dexter W. November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
I was rescued roaming around downtown, but I would love an outdoorsy family to go on hikes and adventures with! I'm a big girl with a big heart. I'm very strong and love getting attention. While I love people, I would probably do best in a home without small children. Little humans are fun, but they're easy to knock over on accident. If you're looking for someone to have a big time with, send in your application asap! I'm ready to ride.   *Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.*   Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $350 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##1312536##

Story
Oh my goodness, the sweetness that radiates from Caleb Cuddles is unmatched! From the very first moment you meet him you'll be instantly obsessed with his sweet love. It's hard to describe but imaging the type of innocent love. Gentle, soft, and so impactful. That's the best way to describe it. But wait, there's more! Caleb Cuddles is incredibly dog friendly, smart, would make a great family dog, and it's just a bonus that he's stinking ADORABLE! Watch his video and you be in love with this sweet boy: https://youtu.be/i6A8R3umDKY?si=g6bdBxCoyow-uPje Caleb Cuddles is believed to be a German Shepherd mix approximately 6 months old and currently weighs 36 lbs. Y'all there is a good chance that he might not get much bigger than that! Although, he is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed, age, or how big he potentially might get. Caleb absolutely adores kids and was so incredibly gentle when he met Miller who is 4 years old. He barely jumped on Miller and was easily corrected whenever he first jumped little bit when he first met her. He’s very easy to be around because he is small, He’s very gentle and doesn't love bomb you with affection. He gives the right amount of love. It was so sweet the way he was sneaking kisses and the way his tail was wagging the whole time because he really enjoyed the attention from Miller. He was also totally cool with Miller taking his toys and enjoyed playing with her. If you have kids and you're looking for a companion for your kids, Caleb is hands down your boy! With other dogs, Caleb is a silly, playmate who loves a good chase and gentle wrestle session. He’d do great with a medium energy dog who enjoys active play but can also take breaks when needed. Someone who can be his fun buddy and his teacher. If you feel your personal dog is lonely and would love a playmate, like a little brother almost, well Caleb is the one for you! He loves other dogs and easily makes friends. He met lots of dogs and did beautifully with every single one, from quick leash intros to full off-leash play with the whole crew. He’s a star. Caleb is still a young fella so he may need you or your personal dog to teach him a boundary or two. He's just a baby and he's gotta learn it's okay to not play all the time. He actually is already picking it up so fast and responds really well when any of his dog friends tell him they want a play break or if they are not the playful type. He's a good boy. Caleb is a happy, playful, and incredibly snuggly boy that will surely steal your heart! He has a wonderful personality and amazing energy about him even with is young age. He is the perfect blend of silliness and cuddles all in one. Hence the second name Cuddles! Caleb is the best of both worlds. He can be a little shy at first in new places and with people but trust us when we say it does not take long for this sweet boy to be leaning in giving you all the kisses. He would love to go to a home that has a backyard where he can stretch his legs, roll around in the grass, and then enjoy his down time snuggled up with you on the couch. We believe he would also be a great pup to take with you on adventures! Caleb is your guy if you're looking for a loving boy who brings joy, comfort, and lots of tail wags into your home! Enjoy the chance to welcome this charming and lovable boy into your family. He is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Caleb is doing great with potty training as well and is currently used to getting a few potty breaks a day and does fantastic with that schedule. The same thing can also be said about any additional training for this young guy. Consistency, structure, and of course treats will be key to setting him up for success. Good news is that Caleb is a super smart pup and is eager to please, especially when treats are involved. He already knows how to sit and is mastering his leash skills! Calab is a 10/10 good boy. We are willing to test Caleb Cuddles with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
