Story
Nina is the sweetest, gentlest soul you’ll ever call your own! She walks beautifully on leash, never pulling she’s just happily strolling beside you as if she’s always belonged there. She’s easy to groom, easy to live with, and perfectly content spending her days close to her person, whether that’s on a peaceful neighborhood walk or curled up beside you on the couch. What makes Nina even more special is how gentle and trusting she remains despite her past. For three long years, she lived tied outside in a small shelter, exposed to the elements and slowly losing weight while neighbors pleaded for help. When she became dangerously thin, caring neighbors convinced her owner to let her go. After a brief stop in their home, an ACO brought her to safety, where she began to heal physically and emotionally. Even after everything she endured, Nina showed no aggression, no reactivity, just a quiet willingness to trust and love again. She’s gained some healthy weight, and blossomed into the sweetest companion you could imagine. Now all she needs is the forever home she has always deserved. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, low-maintenance best friend with the gentlest heart. This beautiful girl named Nina is ready for her forever home!

Story
I got Fen in 2020 from an AKC breeder in NH. Fen needs a well structured person to be able to get him in line with training. He was trained but in my familys home there is too many people giving different commands. He is my familys dog and is too much to handle for my grandparents that stay with him during the day. Fen has hip dysplasia and a torn acl that happened in December and has been having trouble with stairs and we have alot. He is doing better but we can not afford the surgery.

Story
Everyone who meets Cornbread describes him as the "sweetest boy ever." His foster mom says that he's a "goofball but without jumping" and that he would be great for anyone looking for a low-medium energy pup. Cornball may act a bit shy when meeting new males dogs but if the pack is friendly, he won't have any problems joining in after 10-15 minutes. He's quite the charming guy with female dogs. His best friend in his current foster home is Bianca (also an SPR pup up for adoption). His foster parents have affectionately called him "nosey" because he REALLY likes to be near the humans. He's crate-trained and will automatically go into his crate if the door is open. Cornbread is potty-trained but needs more leash-training. However, he's such a people-pleasing and gentle-natured dog that he will learn this skill fast with some dedicated time. His ideal home would be one where he feels safe indoors and where he can hang out with another confident dog. We think that in Cornbread's past life, he was owned and mostly lived outdoors since, when he first arrived to his foster home, he wouldn't go inside the house. His foster mom had to invite him in with treats and affection. Rescue Story: Cornbread was found roaming in a rural area in the outskirts of Houston by a kind lady who reached out to an SPR rescue volunteer for help. She couldn't keep Cornbread for long as she already was taking care of many dogs in her humble home. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. He also travels really in the car. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:  •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.  •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. Sandy Paws Rescue’s MA license number # 0272 ##2677911##
