Story
Nala is our 5-year-old fur baby, adopted at 6 months. She’s grown up with our other pets, but over the past year we’ve seen troubling behavior: at times she unexpectedly reacts negatively towards the cats and our other dog. It’s heartbreaking to watch her shift between her sweet nature and sudden aggression. She also growls at my kids’ friends and at my elderly father, though she has never bitten anyone. The aggression is sudden and quick. Never lasting more than a minute or two. Then she is back to normal. With our children, Nala is gentle, loving, and snuggly. She walks well on a leash, enjoys relaxing on furniture, and loves spending time in our fenced yard, though she may bark excitedly and jump on adult visitors. She has occasional ear infections. Deciding to part with her is incredibly hard. She’s more than a pet—she’s family. Sadly, we can’t afford the training and support she needs to thrive, and we want the best possible future for her. Willing to work with potential adopters

Story
Maizey Female German Shepherd/Pitbull Mix 1 year old Meet Maizey, the sweetest and most loving girl! This playful, affectionate pup is full of personality and joy, and she's ready to find a family of her very own. She would thrive in a fenced-in yard where she can run her heart out and play to her heart's content. Fetch is her absolute favorite game - she could play all day long if you let her! She also enjoys chewing on her nylabone, splashing around in water, and even chasing the sprayer hose. Whether she's zooming around outside, playing with other dogs, or hopping in the car for an adventures, she's always up for fun! At home, Maizey is a big cuddler who just wants to be close to her people - touching you, leaning on you, or snuggling right up beside you. She's guaranteed to make you laugh with her silly antics, like chasing her tail in endless circles or being goofy with her toys. Because she can get a little enthusiastic with her affection, she'd do best in a home without small children, just to make sure she doesn't accidentally knock them over. She also has some herding breed in her and tends to try and herd them. She bonds deeply with her people and would love a family where someone is home more often. While she may get a little sad when left alone, she's never destructive or naughty - just a loyal pup missing her favorite humans. Smart, inquisitive, and eager to please, Maizey listens so well and has so much love to give. She's not just a dog - she's a best friend, a sidekick, and a source of endless joy. Maizey was originally adopted from us as a puppy. She was returned after a year in her home because the family felt she wasn't a great fit for them. Because of this and to ensure Maizey gets the right fit, her new home needs a fenced-in yard, older children and someone who can handle a high-energy dog. She will need someone wiling to exercise her, play with her, take her to doggy daycare - whatever needs to be done to get her energy out. If she doesn't have this release, she can become frustrated. Maizey is spayed and microchipped. She will be up to date on vaccines and a hw test before being adopted. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Maizey, fill out an online application at figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Meet Mesha 🐾 Mesha is a beautiful German Shepherd/Husky mix 2 years old as of Christmas Eve. She is sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of personality. She loves walks, playtime, chew toys, and being close to the people she trusts. As a young, high-energy working breed mix, Mesha does best with structure, consistency, and regular physical and mental exercise. She enjoys playing with kids and other dogs but can become overly excited, so supervision and clear boundaries are important. She is still learning impulse control and benefits from redirection, especially with her love of chewing. Mesha has a strong prey drive and is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. She can be cautious with new people and vocal with unfamiliar dogs. Mesha would thrive in an experienced, active home committed to continued training. A home with dog-savvy adults and older children preferred.

Story
Meet Remi! He is a 5 yr old Pure GSD. We rescued him from an abusive home a year and a half ago, but it was only ever supposed to be a foster situation until we could find him a home. Now we have a baby on the way and he just really needs a place to be where he can run outside and have a good yard to play in. He is very smart and is wonderful with people and other dogs. Extremely good with kids, very patient and has never shown any aggression towards anyone. When we got him his legs were bare and bleeding because whilst he was left alone for weeks at a time, his anxiety caused him to chew on his legs. We have been doing our best to restore him to his former glory. He absolutely loves love and will constantly want pets and belly scratches. He is a very good boy, but our time with him has to come to an end unfortunately. I'm really hopeful one of you lovely people will want to help this sweet boy out! Thank you for reading!

Story
CoCo as my kids call her was given to us in a fostering position after her previous owner needed to get rid of her due to housing issues. At this point I have had her for about 9 months and she has been pretty chill with no real issues other than being a bit reactive when strangers get into her personal space. She is a black German Shepherd 62%, Husky 19% mix. She is fully updated on her shots and has no known health issues. She can be a bit reactive when she doesn't get to burn her energy and is a bit skeptical when meeting new people, I have not introduced her to other dogs as of yet. She loves playing fetch, has a decent recall, knows place, sit, down, kennel, gentle (when playing) as well as release. So far she has been really good with my kids once she got used to them but now i have moved with my Fiancée and her daughter is scared of the dog and recently there was an incident where the dog charged at her as a warning (no one was hurt). Dog does not have a bite history
