Story
Location: Champlin, MN Hi there! Thank so much for stopping by! While I am known at Rescue Network as Snowflake, I actually answer to Astrid! I am a very sweet, 2-year old lady looking for a family to call my own. My foster mom says I am a very loyal sidekick who believes in stranger danger but endless snuggles once you’re approved! Sometimes I take a moment to size you up, but once I decide you’re cool, you’ve officially been promoted to “favorite human.” I am fully potty trained (let’s be honest, a lady has standards), love to give gentle kisses, and am happiest just being near my people. New faces make me cautious at first, but with a little patience (and maybe a treat or two), I’ll melt into your lap like warm butter. Here’s a few additional fun facts about me: · Dog friendly · People friendly – I might use my voice to greet at first · I love treats and am learning some skills (sit, down, stay) · Mom says I do “ok” on a leash. I don’t pull too much, but when I don’t want to go a certain direction, I make it known that we should go a different way. I currently live with my foster family, which includes 2 active boys (10 & 13) and my fur-sister, Winnie. Winnie and I like to chase and play together. The perfect home for me will have: · Humans who will be patient with me as I can be nervous around new people. · A family who is willing to continue teaching me new skills. If you want a loyal best friend who’s as sweet as she is snuggly — and won’t judge you for binge-watching another season on the couch — Astrid can’t wait to meet you! ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are a best guess.

Story
Crixus is an 8-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a strong heart. He’s mellow and polite in the home, perfectly potty trained, and happy to lounge under the table or near his people as they go about their day. While he loves a good walk and sniffs everything with purpose, he’s also content to kick back and watch the world go by. He’s kid-friendly, dog-curious (but strong on leash), and loves to be outside. Crixus is  not a good match for homes with cats or small dogs , but could potentially live with another large dog after slow introductions. He’ll be neutered before adoption and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a calm but active family. Age:8 year old Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 65 lbs Kid-friendly: Yes Dogs:Does well with larger dogs with proper introduction, not great with small dogs Cats:No Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: None at this time Current medications & estimated costs:None.  Will be neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee:$375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   October 13, 2025, 5:13 pm

Story
Koda was adopted in Wasilla, Alaska by a military family with children (ages ranging from 0-1 year old). Koda along with his family relocated to Minnesota this year and unfortunately his family is too busy with their schedule for him. He needs a family that can meet his needs of playing outside with a fenced in yard, going on long walks, and giving him all the attention he desires. Koda loves children, however at times gets too excited doesn’t realize how big he is at times and may push a child over. He’s been gradually getting better at handling his excitement. It is recommended he have a new owner that is willing to take the time to work on his manners.

Story
Kilo is a very lovable high energy, playful German shepherd. He is quick to do tricks and give kisses especially if treats and a ball are involved. Because he is so high energy and doesn't quite understand his size, it makes him not very suitable for someone with young children. We just had our first baby. Ideally he would go to someone that has the ability to excersize him often and give him the time and attention he deserves. He does not do great with other dogs , and we are unsure of cats. He does have allergies and currently eats a raw diet. He has been through an extensive 4 week board and train program , he has great leash manners and is e-collar trained.

Story
HI! From Picket Fence Poodle Rescue! Yep. This is NOT a Poodle. As you can see, she is a German Shephard and Labrador cross. And because we only accept Poodles, we are calling her a “Poodle Wanna Be” as she is a special girl with a story to tell. “RAINEY” and her 2 sisters were born on March 3, 2019, at the Tri County Humane Society. Sort of a sad way to start her life, but at 6 weeks old, Rainey was quickly adopted by a wonderful and loving family who deeply loved and cared for her until…… Rainey is an easy going, gentle, sociable, very smart, loving and a quiet (but will bark when someone comes to the door) BIG girl.  Since Rainey has been with us, we found that she just LOVES to be with men, women and older children. This 6-year-old girl quickly became attached to my husband Mike and loyally follows him everywhere.  When Mike leaves, she transfers her loyalty, attention and love to me. Rainey has always been a house dog, so if we are gone, she has free access to our entire home (housetrained). She then feels the living room couch and our bed is hers to sleep on. At night she wants to be near us, so she sleeps on the floor next to our bed. Rainey considers herself a member of our family and NOT a dog. Did I tell you that this is a smart girl? That’s the “Poodle Wanna Be” in her! Rainey is just fine with (but mostly ignores) all our gentle and easy-going Poodles. She has been an only dog with cats around her all her life. Yet while on our walks and at various events, she is just fine meeting other older, gentle and easy-going dogs. Rainey will jump up on our couch and sit right next to you!  Rainey also greatly enjoyes going to softball games, meeting people at the Anoka Car Show, attending our recent neighborhood National Night Out, going to the beach, riding in a car, having her coat brushed and loves her food and treats! She will "come" when called, will “sit” upon command and listen to whatever you have to tell her. When Rainey first came to us, she was obesely overweight at 120 pounds. With instructions from our Vet, we have reduced her quality food intake and increased her daily walk to 2 miles a day, which she just LOVES to do. Just grab her leash (or say the w-a-l-k word) and she’s ready to go. She now weights a healthy 115 lbs. which my Vet feels is all muscle. Hmmmm…. Rainey was surrendered to us by a family who we know. Sadly, their special needs child was physically abusing and attacking Rainey even though Rainey did nothing wrong. Finally, it was tearfully decided that for Rainey’s safety, she needed to go to a new home. Rainey has been checked by our Vet and found healthy with no physical or emotional problems. She is spayed, has been recently Heartworm, Lymes and Ehrlichia tested negative, Home Again microchipped and registered. All her vaccinations and worming are up to date. *You must be physically able to handle a 115-pound dog. *Preference will be given to a family with large dog or German Shephard experience. *Rainey has always been an only dog.  She is OK with other dogs, but only for a short period of time. BUT PLEASE: *NO young children. *NO cement trucks (long story there) *Like most rescue groups, we do not adopt our Poodles (and Poodle Wanna Be's) to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. If you feel Rainey would fit into your family or know of a family that would be interested, her adoption fee will be $200.00 which includes the Minnesota sales tax, her leash and collar, a large bag of quality dog food, a new bag of Dasuquin MSM joint supplement (great for all large dogs), her dog food dish, a dog food bin, a large dog pillow and a couple of dog brushes and some toys.
