Story
Crixus is an 8-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a strong heart. He’s mellow and polite in the home, perfectly potty trained, and happy to lounge under the table or near his people as they go about their day. While he loves a good walk and sniffs everything with purpose, he’s also content to kick back and watch the world go by. He’s kid-friendly, dog-curious (but strong on leash), and loves to be outside. Crixus is  not a good match for homes with cats or small dogs , but could potentially live with another large dog after slow introductions. He’ll be neutered before adoption and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a calm but active family. Age:8 year old Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 65 lbs Kid-friendly: Yes Dogs:Does well with larger dogs with proper introduction, not great with small dogs Cats:No Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: None at this time Current medications & estimated costs:None.  Will be neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee:$375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   October 13, 2025, 5:13 pm

Say hello to Glory! She came to TCHS as a transfer from another facility. Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing a new animal into the home. Ask a TCHS staff for tips on how to ease the transition. Glory would love to have durable toys to chew on and keep her entertained. Patient and consistent training using treats is a good way to work on obedience cues. Ask a TCHS staff about training and suggestions for the perfect toy for your new friend from the TCHS Re-Tail Shoppe. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Meet Bugs! Bugs is a shy guy who loves to be loved. He has met other dogs and cats and did OK but was generally nervous and tends to be timid around new pets or people. Because of this, he may prefer being in a quieter home with mellow companions or as a solo boy. He was around children in his previous home and did well with them. Bugs is easily scared by loud noises. He is kennel trained and is used to being in there at night or when home alone. He is also housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside by sitting by the door. He is also very smart and has already learned "sit," "stay," "shake," and "paw"! He's treat-motivated and loves to learn. Positive reinforcement goes a long way with this sweet boy. Bugs is known to be vocal and has a loud bark. But he doesn't mean anything by it! Bugs is a big tender soul, with a loud voice and a small presence. Bugs is still very much a puppy and has lots of energy to burn off. This young guy would love regular walks or other daily enrichment such as puzzle feeders or snuffle mats to make dinner time more stimulating! Could Bugs be your family's missing piece? Come meet this gentle soul today! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. Story
Meet Otis! Otis is used to being a rural/farm dog and would enjoy to have a similar lifestyle in a new home. Otis enjoys treats and squishy ball toys. He knows sit and is eager to learn more (who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!). He has lived with other dogs and farm animals; he was both friendly and playful with them! He does not do well with cats and should not go home with small animals. He has not met children. He is quite nervous with new people and animals, so introductions should be slow to ensure a successful transition. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896.
