Story
Crixus is an 8-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a strong heart. He’s mellow and polite in the home, perfectly potty trained, and happy to lounge under the table or near his people as they go about their day. While he loves a good walk and sniffs everything with purpose, he’s also content to kick back and watch the world go by. He’s kid-friendly, dog-curious (but strong on leash), and loves to be outside. Crixus is  not a good match for homes with cats or small dogs , but could potentially live with another large dog after slow introductions. He’ll be neutered before adoption and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a calm but active family. Age:8 year old Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 65 lbs Kid-friendly: Yes Dogs:Does well with larger dogs with proper introduction, not great with small dogs Cats:No Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: None at this time Current medications & estimated costs:None.  Will be neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee:$375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. Story
Say hello to Wolf! He came to TCHS with his brothers, Prince and Brownie, who have since been adopted. In their previous home, they were used to using a wire kennel and having plenty of space to run! He's been getting use to being on a leash while in our care and our dog walkers have been raving about him! He's done well when using a Weise walkie leash and settles down after walking for a bit. Wolf is a big fan of his nightly Kongs, especially if they have peanut butter in them. He's treat motivated and gives the best hugs! While we love his hugs he may not be the best fit for a home with small kids who may get knocked over with them. While they are big in size, they are still true puppies at heart. They would benefit from some basic training and an active household. They have been around adults and farm animals but have not been introduced to cats. Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing a new animal into the home. Ask a TCHS staff for tips on how to ease the transition. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Riley, is my son’s 8-year-old German Shepherd / Pit Bull Terrier mix with the biggest heart and strongest personality. She is funny, gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving. She smiles when she’s happy, leans in for comfort, and bonds fiercely with her people.Riley was rescued two years ago by my son, he was informed that she was abused. Because of that trauma, she needs to be the only pet in a calm, stable home with someone patient and experienced. My son and her moved back home as he plans to leave for the army and we keep her and our dog separate at all times. This decision is heartbreaking, but she deserves peace, security, and the chance to truly thrive.Riley is incredibly loyal once she trusts you and will love her person with her whole soul. We are seeking a compassionate, responsible home where she can feel safe and cherished for the rest of her life.

Story
Meet Lydia — Lydia is a stunning little girl with a sleek all-black coat, a sweet white stripe on her chest, and adorable white-tipped back paws. As cute as she looks, her personality is just as big! This energetic pup is clever and athletic—she quickly figured out how to hop right over a critter x-pen, earning herself an upgrade to a dog-sized x-pen instead. Smart girl! Lydia is always on the move and would likely grow up to be a great game-of-catch partner. She loves chasing a tennis ball and can happily spend hours chewing on her beloved edible Nylabones. Her favorite toys are ropes, and she’s known for launching surprise “attack” play sessions on her brother, which are equal parts hilarious and adorable. She’s been wonderful with adults and small children, loves belly rubs, and happily crawls into your lap for affection. She’s also shown no reaction to a cat casually walking by—just another cool point for Lydia. Like any puppy, she’s high-energy and curious, which means everything looks like it should go in her mouth. Her favorite times of day are mealtimes (no surprise there!), and her least favorite is nighttime when everyone goes to bed without her. During the day, she balances her busy puppy life between playtime and naps. One of the cutest things about Lydia? Her ears—always slightly raised with the tips folded over, giving her an endlessly expressive and heart-melting look. Lydia love to walk you when outside. She will grab the leash and try to pull you around. She is really beginning to enjoy her time outside. She is the one with all the energy. She is obsessed with chew treats. She'll finish hers and then goes on to tak her brother's treat. She has become a skilled climber on the stairs already! Lydia is pure puppy joy and ready to bring fun, love, and laughter to her forever home. Lydia is from a local reservation. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. She’s a fast learner and knows ‘sit’ and ‘down’ already while waiting oh so patiently! She gets along with kids, cats, and other dogs great! Here’s a sweet video of Pistachio.
