We got Koda when he was just a pup. He will turning 5 years old on September 26th this year. In a new home we would like him to have space to RUN. He needs space but also discipline. 95 % of the time he is a sweet boy and just wants love and snuggles, but he has shown traits of anxiety. He currently needs to be in a strong kennel to contain him when we are not home. We have had a couple incidents with strangers where he will nip them in the back of the leg then run off immediately. He currently is homed with 2 school aged kids and our elderly lab and has not had issues with our kids, our family and friends that come around often. He does like rough play with our other dog. We are currently expecting a new baby and do not want these newer incidents to occur with a newborn in house.

Location: St Paul, MN What to know about Bethany and her search for a forever pack: 1. She’s super gentle with humans and our cats. Our two cats are not afraid of her in the least. If my boys were still young, preschool age and up, I wouldn’t hesitate to have her around them. She’s a sweet dog, not mean at all. 2. She doesn’t bark. The only time she barks is if she literally senses danger. She’ll protect you and your family, I have no doubt, but her default mode is being a goofy, sweet, loving dog. She’s got quite the personality. While she looks like a G Shepherd, she’s definitely a mix, you just have to meet her. She will greet you excitedly, then do a diving roll onto her back for belly rubs. 3. She’s sneakily smart as sh*t. I would never underestimate her. Her personality is a hoot. You can tell she’s a mixed breed, and the best aspects have totally come to the fore. 4. We’ve had her in our home since February. At the time she did not know how to walk on a leash in an urban environment. She’s made amazing progress, learning that no, she can’t actually climb up a tree after a squirrel. We’ve worked really hard to get her to where she is today. 5. She doesn't know how to socialize with other dogs. It’s a fear response. She gets most aggressive when startled by a dog coming into her range of vision that she didn’t expect. We’ve worked with her, using treats and praise to “leave it.” Squirrel, chipmunk, rabbit, person walking along the sidewalk, and any dogs we encounter on our walks. She’s totally food-motivated, and smart as heck. I’m so proud of her. 6. Our neighborhood is full of dogs, and she’s made so much progress. It’s not that she’s aggressive, it’s a fear response. 7. He’s very curious about cats, a little too curious so I’d recommend a no cat home. He is a bigger dog so I wouldn’t recommend small children, although that is purely due to his size. Everyone that he’s met has been amazed at how personable and handsome he is, as well as how well he listens and behaves.

Leia was born on the 4th of July and is a great family dog. We have had her since she was a puppy, she is 4 years old now. She has had some training at home but definitely needs a refresher course. She has a travel kennel, bowls, clipping tools, a large food container, a big round bed and a chain for the yard if you need it. Rehoming mainly for financial reasons. She is generally good with dogs but does get protective if my kids are around. She does not guard food and has never bitten anyone.

Hello! My name is Milton and my foster mom says I am one of the most chill dogs she’s ever had the pleasure of loving. Coming in at 81 lbs I am a gentle giant. I do crave attention from humans though! But who can blame me after being locked up in a pen for 2 years.Thankfully I had my good buddy Melvin with me during those 2 years. That’s why these lovely people at the dog rescue feel that it’s important that Melvin and I are adopted together! You got that right!! You get double the love and affection! I’m learning how to walk while on a leash. I just like to stop and smell everything cuz it’s all so new for me! I love love love the nice green grass in the backyard….it is so soft! The simple things in life……😊 Please give me a chance at what a life is really suppose to be! I will love you unconditionally the rest of my life!Milton is heartworm positive and is awaiting a negative test result. His treatment has been completed but he is not due for his retest yet. He will need a microfilaria test one month after treatment. Once he has a negative microfilaria test, he will not need to be on exercise restrictions. All medical needs will be the responsibility of the adoptive family.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
