Story
Hi, my name is Acorn and I am from Minnesota! I’m young, cute, and full of energy. I’m doing really well in my foster home and love playing with their small dog (he’s only 15 lbs!). We’ve become best buds and love playing together and cuddling up after a wrestle session. I can get overexcited during play, but I’m very responsive and settle quickly when redirected. I also live with a toddler and a preschooler right now. I’m very sweet with them and love getting pets, hugs, and ear scratches. Since I’m still learning just how big and strong I am, supervised playtime is important so I don’t accidentally knock anyone over. Otherwise, my human siblings are some of my favorite people! I’m part German Shepherd, which means I’m smart and eager to learn! I already know sit, down, off, wait, and come. I enjoy training and pick up on things quickly. I like having toys to chew and activities to keep my brain busy: puzzle toys, peanut butter Kongs, balls to play fetch, and sturdy chew toys are some of my favorites. I’m good about only chewing my own toys and just need a simple no if I start to get interested in something that’s not mine. I’m almost fully potty trained in my new foster home and seeing success with routine. I’m still building confidence being kenneled and when left alone, so I would do best in a home where someone is around most days. Shared walls (like apartments or townhomes) may not be ideal right now as I can get vocal if I’m feeling lonely. Otherwise, I’m generally quiet and only bark when I’m excited. I’m learning leash walking, but my foster mom can handle me with a harness. I love meeting new people and other dogs! I previously lived with a cat and did well, but like any dog, slow introductions and supervision are recommended. At the end of the day, once I’ve had some playtime, I’m a total cuddle bug. I love curling up on the couch, giving kisses, and soaking up attention. I’m not a couch potato, but I’m also not “too much” — just a happy, active boy who wants to be part of the family. I would do best with a family who can give me daily exercise, enrichment, and lots of love. In return, I’ll give you my whole heart!

Story
Hi, my name is Leon and I am from Oklahoma! From his foster: Leon has a very happy-go-lucky personality! He loves to play and spend time outside sniffing around. He can be high energy and loves to go on walks or solve puzzles. He is great in his crate and sleeps through the night in there with no problem! He very attentive to you and is very treat driven. He does great with a walk in the morning and a walk at night with some play time in the evening. He loves to run around with a tennis ball and chase it. Leon is very smart so training and puzzle toys have been a great way to get his mental energy out. We are currently working on keeping him from jumping on people and slowly introducing him to new things and dogs. He will need some help and guidance to learn how to interact with new people and things. From the Vet: Leon was evaluated at The BB Vet Center after his foster noted some intermittent limping on his right rear leg. His x-rays showed no obvious signs of injury so the most likely cause is a congenital deformity or other cause resulting in some pain/abnormalities to his back, rear legs an tail. He will be on a medical management plan of rest/exercise restriction and pain medications as we monitor his journey in rescue. An adopter may elect to pursue additional orthopedic care or physical therapy as Leon ages and or consult closely with a primary care vet to make sure his medical management for pain and inflammation is well under control.

Story
This is really hard for us to do. We adore her. We adopted her from a breeder when she was a year old after being surrendered by her first owner back to the breeder for reasons that were not Ivy’s fault-they were unable to keep her at their apartment. We brought Ivy into our home where we have another female GSD who is about 6 months older than her. The fighting between them has escalated to a point where we ended up having to take our other female dog in for stitches tonight; Ivy had a few cuts on her forehead and by her eye too. Most of the time these two are best friends, but the fighting has started to erupt out of nowhere and is becoming more violent- we have to separate them for both of their safety. She is the sweetest dog towards us and other people. Anyone who adopts her will be lucky to have her. If we thought there was any other way to safely keep her in her current situation, we would. She has $3k in dog training (All Dogs Unleashed) and is very response to her commands.

Story
Nymeria, (Direwolf from Game of Thrones) has been a vital part of our family for over 2 years. She was given to us by a friend who told she had been to multiple homes with obviously no success for a long-term home. We happily took her in and started tackling challenges from day one: separation anxiety, crate training, leash reactivity, house training - We had great success. We absolutely love and adore Nye but with our newborn we have found that he is allergic and we are simply struggling to manage both fur-babies and the new baby. I believe she would be well-suited for a family with a yard, as either a solo dog or with other large dogs. With Husky

Story
Hi, I’m Bing Crosby—a 70 lb, 6-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix! Whether I’m flopping over for belly rubs or chasing my favorite orange Chuck-it ball, I always try to brighten up the room.I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I know how to sit, stay, wait, and leave it. I thrive on routine, but I also love the occasional snack…cheese, bacon, and peanut butter are my top picks. If you like cooking at home, just a heads-up: I’ll give you my best puppy-dog eyes until you cave and toss me a little piece of grilled chicken. I’m looking for a home where I can be part of the action, whether that’s morning walks, fetch, or…more fetch! And when the day winds down, I’m happy to curl up next to you on the bed or couch and snooze.I tend to get nervous around young kids, so I’d do best in a home without them. But I absolutely love playing with adults and other dogs of any size! I’m hoping to find an awesome family who’ll let me be their loyal, goofy companion.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedure completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Welcome Diamond to CCPAL Rescue. Diamond is a 3-year old GSD with really beautiful traditional looks. She is black and tan and weighs about 80 pounds. She is a tall girl and looks to be a good weight. She is good with other dogs and she loves her kennel. She is a timid girl but she does look like a formidable force. She bonds deeply and is a smart girl. She already has bonded to the kennel workers who are female. She knows sit and some hand commands and is decent on a leash. She is potty trained and good in a car. She would be great with someone that knows the breed. She is moderately active and not extremely confident. She will be a wonderful companion dog and would be good with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently spayed and vaccinated. She is healthy and looking for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. . Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
