Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Daisy! She was picked up as a stray and sadly never reclaimed. She’s a gorgeous German Shepherd mix. She’s 4-5 years old and 53 lbs. She is a calm and sweet girl. Good with dogs and kids. Great in the house and care. Just an all around great companion. She’s utd, hw tested and spayed!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
Meet Rufus the Dufus! Age: 2–3 years | Weight: 84 lbs of pure chaos and cuddles Rufus didn’t have the easiest start — tied to a tree with a collar mark on his neck and fly bites on his ears — but now he’s living the good life and spreading joy (and occasional chaos) everywhere he goes. We think Rufus might be some kind of European German Shepherd mix — he’s got the tall, leggy build of a Great Dane, the classic Shepherd coloring, the face of a Malinois, and the skull of a Dutch Shepherd. Honestly, we’re not 100% sure what he is… but we are 100% sure he’s made entirely of love. This 84-lb goofball thinks he’s a lap dog. Recliner? Bear-hug central. Couch? He’ll wedge himself in like a furry human sandwich. Start petting him, and he’ll lean his full weight into you — a heavy, heart-melting lean that says you’re his person now. Toys? Balls, squeakers, or anything that rolls — he’ll chase it, trip over himself, and somehow still look majestic. Zoomies are his cardio, and clumsiness is his signature move. Rufus lives with a pack of big dogs — two GSDs, a Belgian Malinois, and a Dutch Shepherd — and he’s their self-appointed hype man. Cats? Curious and a little too excited. Kids? Instant best friend, guaranteed. He has no food aggression, doesn’t guard resources, and isn’t fazed by loud noises — vacuums, thunderstorms, fireworks? Snooze. Counter surfing? Guilty as charged. But call his name, and he’ll usually saunter away like a gentleman (with a side of sass). Car rides? Loves ’em. Walks? Harness preferred. Costumes? He once rocked an XL hotdog for Halloween like it was high fashion. Rufus the Dufus is the perfect mix of goofball, cuddle monster, and loyal companion — if you can handle the clumsy zoomies, heavy lean-ins, and giant bear hugs, he’s ready to fill your life with laughter and love. Rufus has another week and a half of vetting to complete, but we are accepting early applications for this handsome boy now! If interested in meeting Rufus, please submit an application here: https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application/

Story
*** IMPORTANT UPDATE*** Jake needs a home immediately! Large breed dogs only no small dogs! If he goes back to the shelter it will not be a good thing for him but he can’t stay here I have mostly small dogs. Someone save him! 🐾 Meet Jake - Courtesy Post Jake is a 10-month-old Shepherd mix with so much love to give and his whole life ahead of him. After spending 22 long weeks (159 days) living in a shelter kennel, he’s finally getting the chance to decompress in foster care and show everyone what an incredible dog he truly is. Jake is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and received a clean bill of health at his first vet exam. He is kennel trained and settles beautifully in his crate — no barking or carrying on. He is leash trained, knows “sit” on command, is easy to handle, and is even great for nail trims, which says a lot about his gentle and trusting temperament. He is wonderful with small children and has a sweet, patient nature that makes him an excellent potential family dog. Jake has done well with other dogs overall and enjoys canine companionship. However, since being in foster care we have had a few run-ins with my small dogs, and it has become clear that Jake has a prey drive. Because of this, a home with small dogs or small animals would not be safe or appropriate for him. Jake would do best in a home with medium to large, friendly dogs that enjoy play but also respect boundaries. He reads other dogs well, takes correction appropriately, and settles when playtime is over. In the videos I’ve posted, that was actually his first time meeting my dogs. I kept him on leash initially so I could maintain control if anything went wrong — my dogs will listen and back off when I tell them to, but a brand-new dog hasn’t built that trust yet. Jake handled introductions well and continues to adjust as he decompresses. He loves toys (especially tennis balls), enjoys having something to chase or carry, and has shown no resource guarding with food or toys. He shares space appropriately with people and larger dogs. Jake is a young dog who wants to please, learns quickly, and already has a wonderful foundation. His personality is shining more every day, and it’s clear he just wants a family to call his own. He will likely grow into a medium-to-large size dog and needs a home prepared for his size, energy, and play style. He has waited far too long for someone to choose him. He deserves a home where he’ll be loved, included, and set up for success. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, well-mannered companion, Jake might just be your perfect match. ❤️🐾 Interested in adopting Jake? Please apply at Tired Dog Rescue
