Story
Hello! We are looking for a new home for our 11 month old puppy, Cinnamon. Cinnamon comes as a stray from Texas, where a family member found Cinnamon and her sister at 6 weeks and could not care for them as her living situation changed. Cinnamon is very sweet! She loves being pet and is happy to greet you when you come home! She also loves our cat and they snuggle often. She is very nice around children, and is always down for snuggles and scratches. Cinnamon has had some formal training and understands commands like sit (we have a hand signal for this), down, and heel, and is also house trained and crate trained. We have another 12 year old dog, and while most of the time they are friendly and like to play, they are both very food motivated. Cinnamon is very curious about people, however with other dogs we've found she can be quite protective about her crate and her food, so we think she would prefer being the only dog in the home. We hope to find a loving home for Cinnamon!

Story
Mystery and Black dog are a bonded pair. Mystery prefers the company of other dogs. She’s not affectionate but LOVES playing fetch and going on walks! Black dog is the definition of lazy. His idea of exercise is moving from the bed to his food bowl. We'd prefer them to be the only dogs in the home just because they share such a strong bond!

Story
Our poor girl Salem is still waiting for a home after 8 long years. Though she can be shy at first, she longs to be someone’s loyal guardian, hiking partner, and best friend. Despite her severe hip dysplasia, she’s very active and LOVES to run. She’s so playful and full of life. Her inner puppy comes out when she gets to play with toys! Salem also loves cooler weather, though she can deal with summer heat by playing in the water. She’s great with other dogs, and loves to play with them! She’s amazing on and off leash. Salem is our special girl and we’d love to see her in a home where she can live comfortably and happily for her forever.

Story
Cletus is an easy going, adorable male Golden Retriever/Lab mix, born on October 12, 2024. He is a good family member, crate-trained and mostly house-trained with some support in his new home. Cletus is great with kids, dogs and cats. He might be a bit shy when he first meets new people, but warms up quickly and his goofy, loving personality shines through as you can see in the videos. He’s neutered, and very healthy and happy. The adoption fee is $50.  This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina.     Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.November 12, 2025, 2:59 pm
