Story
Hi! I am Sarge, my nick name is tank. They say that I'm solid. Think, it's because I love snacks and food. Makes me just the right amount of puppy "fluff"! I am a happy, outgoing fun pup that absolutely loves being with people and other dogs. My favorite pastime is playing in kids pool at my foster mom's house, but I can't right now because I just got neutered. Although I sit in the pool in hopes the water will appear in it. Would love to go on adventures like hikes, walks, and of course.... water adventures! I am house and crate trained. I do pretty good on leash for puppy. If you are interested in adopting me or learning more about me, you can complete the adoption application below. Don't forget to put my name! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NAF/Dog I am located in San Antonio, TX, but don't worry. We can do a video meet and greet! My out of state adoption includes transport with a health certificate from the vet before I go. My rescue works with trusted rescue transports that take amazing care of us rescue pups!

Story
IDGSR Welcomes TIA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN MARYLAND & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Happy Holidays! My name is Tia and I am a beautiful 16-18month female German Shepherd. I am currently at a 4-week board & train program with Mason Dixon K9 in Maryland. Once I finish my training at the beginning of January, I will be available for transport! Be sure to check out Mason Dixon K9 on Facebook to see all of my amazing progress! I am learning all sorts of basic & advanced obedience training. When I complete the program, I will be the best behaved gal! Here are some fun facts about me & my ideal home! 1. I have a lot of energy! I need to be adopted by someone who is active and has a strong dog handler personality. 2. I’m a sporty gal, I would love to go swimming, take hikes, explore new places, go on trail runs, take neighborhood walks, go camping - really anything that’s active and fun! 3. I’m smart and am learning all sorts of amazing training with Mason Dixon K9! 4. My ideal home has a large fenced in yard for me to play in, someone who will keep me active & continue some ongoing training, and most importantly it has a person or family who will love me unconditionally! 5. My ideal home would be me as the only female dog. If you have a large confident male dog, with proper introductions we will get along. I need to avoid homes with cats, small dogs, and small kids. 6. If you are looking for an obedience trained pup, one who will always be down for adventures, one who will bring you love and loyalty - I'm your gal! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SCOUT was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought his mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. He was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with his siblings, his mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. SCOUT was neutered on 25 September, he is current on his vaccinations, although he will require his rabies as he is currently too young for that vaccine. He is microchipped and at the time of his neuter surgery weighed 12.60 pounds. We do not know what breed he is mixed with, but can confidently say his mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. It is our policy at Give a Dog a Home Rescue to NOT adopt puppies until they are 3 months old, so that we can ensure that they are getting the crucial socialization with other dogs that they need. However, families that have another dog at home, or are looking at adopting two pups/dogs will be able to apply and adopt before she reaches 3 months of age. SCOUT is a young pup and so his personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how he behaves as he grows up. There is no reason for him to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make him fearful or hurt him. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. SCOUT will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing him to as many environments as possible, but in a way that he is comfortable, safe and happy. He is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands he will be teething, he will be going through his "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Scout has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
