Story
IDGSR Welcomes GRIZZLY into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Howdy! My name is Grizzly, I'm about 2years old, and am a very striking black male German Shepherd. I am located in Greeneville Tennessee and am available for transport to my forever home. I have had a horribly start to life. I was left outside to die, no food, water, or shelter. Thanks to a good samaritan, I was found and transferred into the rescue where I've been nursed back to health! I'm a BIG boy with a strong personality! I will need to be adopted to someone who has extensive German Shepherd experience/knowledge. I am a sweet boy but I do best with stern direction. I want to be the boss but it's best that my owner be the boss! My ideal home is with someone who will love me, train me, and let me follow them around wherever they go. I need to steer clear of homes with cats, small dogs, and kids. I would be okay as an only dog as long as I get lots of attention. I am content to chill with my person or go for the occasional walk/hike. If you are an experienced GSD owner looking for a BIG boy, one who is resilient, smart, strong, curious, and has a mild temperament - I'm your guy! Story
This girl is called Gemma and she is a 5 year old German Shepherd girl that is looking for a Shepherd savvy owner.  This girl is 65 pounds and has come through much in her life and surfaced as a great survivor and ready to embrace a good life.  Her foster mom and dad taught her how to trust, how to love and how to be a wonderful and endearing Shepherd that just wants love.   Gemma needs a fenced yard, a patient and dog savvy Shepherd person that understands her brain psyche and that she is a jewel ready to be continually polished to a shining bright star.  Gemma will be a great dog to love and go on walks and adventures.  She is good with other dogs and cats and also has been around young children. Let’s talk…let’s meet in the middle to make Gemma a part of a great family!  Could it be you!?     Contact ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 18, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
Mars is in URGENT need of rescue.  He is a GSD that has been in a very small and out of the way rural shelter for over 3 months and everyone around that shelter has too many dogs already.  He has been cooped up in a 4 X 6 kennel on a concrete floor during the cold of winter and no heat at the shelter.   He is going a little stir crazy.  He plays with other dogs in the play yard but he is a little fearful of new people.  Cautious is the word that best describes him.  The German Shepherd breed is born with a cautious and guardian/working nature.  He is in an unnatural environment and it is crushing his soul.  If you would like to offer a lifeline to this boy named Mars, 2-3 years old and 70 pounds, please DO NOT WAIT.  We are afraid that he will crash and then he will be euthanized as the result of being so confined and limited and left with a feeling of abandonment.  Critter Cavalry Rescue will pay for ALL HIS NEEDS!  Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com ASAP> PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 18, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. KAI was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 KAI is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 30 January 2010 and at the time of transport weighed around 40 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. KAI was one of the favourites of the rescue in Oman, he had been saved and his foot was all mangled and sadly it was deemed it couldn't be fixed and the only option was amputation. He healed and is doing great and having 3 legs doesn't slow him down. He shares a kennel with his Omani friend "Fliss" and they are constantly wrestling and chasing around the kennel run playing - which is beautiful to see them relaxed and having fun after all they have endured. KAI is a very gentle soul who is happy to chill out, but also play and be goofy. He loves having his neck and ears scratched and will make a great snuggle companion, but of course still needs a fair amount of exercise and lots of fun adventures. When Kai was saved his front leg was mangled that the veterinarians were not able to save and so the decision was made to amputate his leg, and as with all amputee's, this doesn't stop him from having fun and living life. He will need joint supplements to help support the extra work and weight his other leg is enduring. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue       YouTube channel       and       photo albums on our Facebook page       to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. KAI is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
IDGSR Welcomes MILA into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hi Y’all! My name is Mila and I am a beautiful dark sable 1-2yr female German Shepherd. I am located near Greeneville, Tennessee and am available for transport to my forever home! I was living a rough life outside at a gravel quarry with no adequate food or shelter. I was destined to get hurt or die from all the big trucks and equipment coming in. I was found by some workers in the nick of time because I was ready to have my babies! I’m safe with IDGSR now. I had 9 beautiful puppies, many still available for adoption, & now I’m ready to find a forever home! I would do best with someone who has prior German Shepherd experience & who is a strong dog owner. I have a strong personality and need someone who will help me be the best girl. I would be fine as an only dog as long as I get lots of exercise & training! Since I lived most of my life outside, I’m still learning how to be a lady inside. I would greatly benefit from obedience training. I’m very smart & will catch on to anything you can teach me. I’d make a great running or hiking partner too! If you are looking for a beautiful, energetic, adventurous, goofy, and strong new companion - I’m your gal!
