Story
Looking to add a little bit of mature shepherd/husky sass to your life? Look no further than miss Mona Lisa! Mona Lisa is a 9-year-old shepsky lady, looking to find a forever family of his own. Boy is this girl sweet! Mona Lisa loves everybody she meets and has even lived with and done well with young kids too. She can be a little bit of a dramatic girl, especially if you're not quick enough with throwing the ball, she'll give you some husky "woos. But she loves a good game a fetch. Being a shepherd mix lady, she can be a bit vocal when seeing new dogs, so may need a slower introduction to appropriately make friends. She would prefer a home with no cat or small animal friends, they can be really tempting to chase and bother.

Adopted originally from Texas, this sweet boy found himself without a forever when he arrived in Rhode Island. Thankfully, we know German Shepard’s are well loved here and we scooped him up. We believe Hyde to be 10 months of age and on the quieter side; we will see how he does when he arrives soon. Hyde has been neutered, is UTD on vaccines and has been microchipped, the adoption fee is 600.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 10:27 am

Story
Duke is a great boy but has not been socialized as much as he should have been. We recently got a new puppy and he has had some aggression toward her where it made us second guess having him around our future kids. Since we are starting a family very soon we are making the heart wrenching decision to rehome him. We believe he will be best in an adult only home with no kids or animals around unless you have the experience/time to spend to train Duke. Duke is a 7 year old GSD who loves the outdoors and playing ball but also just loves being inside with his family and watching The King of the Hill! He’s such a sweet boy who has a mellow demeanor in a single adult environment.

Story
Hi I’m Maeve! I’m about 12 weeks old and I am a Shepherd mix. I Absolutely adore my siblings and treats! So training me should be pretty easy stuff and no doubt I would be great on adventures!! ! I am still a little puppy so my potty training skills are in the works along with other puppy stuff. I’m pretty confident, but a little shy with new people. Nothing some yummy treats can’t help though! Notice the treats again… I can be an only pup home or with other dogs. Not sure what a cat is though or if like or don’t like them. Maeve is being fostered in San Antonio Texas and is available for transport throughout the US and Canada.

Story
Lennon is half husky half German shepherd, she is on the smaller side for height and weighs around 60 lbs. She an extremely sweet and loving dog but has a ton of energy which is difficult for us now as we have a toddler and two other dogs (who we had before her). She is extremely friendly and has never been aggressive to anyone or any other dog. She is great with our toddler, actually the best out of our 3 dogs with her. She has gone to daycare since she was a puppy and gets along great with the dogs there. She is a dog that needs a lot of attention which unfortunately we do not have the time for. She would also be great for someone who lives in a more rural area with a lot of room for her to run around. Please message me with any questions!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. KAI was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 KAI is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 30 January 2010 and at the time of transport weighed around 40 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. KAI was one of the favourites of the rescue in Oman, he had been saved and his foot was all mangled and sadly it was deemed it couldn't be fixed and the only option was amputation. He healed and is doing great and having 3 legs doesn't slow him down. He shares a kennel with his Omani friend "Fliss" and they are constantly wrestling and chasing around the kennel run playing - which is beautiful to see them relaxed and having fun after all they have endured. KAI is a very gentle soul who is happy to chill out, but also play and be goofy. He loves having his neck and ears scratched and will make a great snuggle companion, but of course still needs a fair amount of exercise and lots of fun adventures. When Kai was saved his front leg was mangled that the veterinarians were not able to save and so the decision was made to amputate his leg, and as with all amputee's, this doesn't stop him from having fun and living life. He will need joint supplements to help support the extra work and weight his other leg is enduring. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue       YouTube channel       and       photo albums on our Facebook page       to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. KAI is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
